For me Katara calming down Aang in the desert is the most emotional scene of the whole series. She doesn't say a word, feels Aangs pain and signals to him that she understands and will never leave his side.
I believe the first episode featuring Jet is quite underrated, and the character himself is also underappreciated. He's a radicalized young man who becomes similar to the enemy he aims to destroy. It's one of the many tragedies of war.
Great list, Yeah I agree The Desert was one of my favourite episodes and The Awakening was so well done it had the best Book opening from all the books, best way to start the final season of the show.
The firebending masters is my all time fave episode. Seeing Aang and zuko together after so much parallel throughout the series is awesome and watching Aang finally overcome his fear of firebending, and Zuko finally learn what his uncle had been trying to teach him is a great moment. Hearing the dragon chant is a huge bonus too haha
Another book 1 episode that can get overlooked is the blue spirit. Comes right after the storm and only really has 1 major plot line as momo trying to find water isn't too serious. However I think it has some of the best music, non-bending action scenes, and major hints of character development for both Aang and Zuko. Obvious foreshadowing of them eventually working together. The moment where Zuko immediately realizes they need Aang alive and comes up with knives at his throat is another amazing example of this show putting crazy adult themes in this "kids" show.
The desert is super undermined by the cactus juice bit, but beyond that this episode has made me cry the last several times I've watched it. I also adore the serpent's pass. Thanks for this!
I think bitter work is my favorite of these. So many episodes are praised for their portrayal of the zuko aang parallel and I honestly think this is close to being the best one
The Western Air Temple is one of my personal favorites. I just love how Toph is the only one who wants to give Zuko a chance. It's so heart breaking but realistic at the same time, how no one else wants to believe he's changed and how he is being rejected with so much despise. It just feels so REAL. And it's so emotional, when he finally gets to speak his mind. It's just so powerful and I can't imagine this meet up between Zuko and Team Avatar any other way.
I tend to live under a rock so I didnt realize that most of my favourite episodes are on this list lol most of these episodes contain my fave scenes from the series
People dont like Siege of the North enough. That’s my favorite episode of the entire series. Everything about it was actually really masterfully executed.
0:14 i'll die on this hill the great divide was a fun episode!!! The guide was cool and had a unique way of bending, the canyon crawlers stand out a,ongst avatars ecology, and you know what? I thought the bickering between the two tribes was interesting! What can I say? I have a soft spot for two opposing sides that detest one another for reasons they don't fully get. And the historical telepohon plotline was aang took advantage of was a cool twist too, so what if he lied? Whatever...

I think the desert, lake laogi, and the siege of the north are some of the best episodes in the entire series.

I love every episode dedicated to the heros' journey to Ba Sing Se and their stay there, because I admire the aesthetic.
