If you notice, none of these guys are showing dyno gains with JUST the CAI. It's always in conjunction with a tune, which we already know, the tune by itself will unlock power. AM is better than this.
Just put an Airaid intake on my 2017 GT ( Australian spec ) I replaced a BBK intake that did not work with a new tune! And how tight was it getting it on! Didn't think the main tube would get on but it did and one of the attachment tubes would not click in! Had to use some tape to thicken the metal insert and then some and they are not made for aussie spec mustangs! Then the plastic and metal cover did not fit the screw holes, had to file and drill them to fit! But it does seem to work better than the BBK and now needs to get re tuned as the idle has gone through the roof! Can't wait till it's done. But not happy about how it was so much work to get it to fit!!!!!
god I miss my Mustang GT it was a 2000 model but I bought lights, lightbar, convertible top, cold air system, rims and liquid for the hydraulic pumps/new hydraulic pumps. I bought them all from AmericanMuscle as well as exhaust. Soon after it was completed it was destroyed while I was being a good Samaritan and a car did a 270 and destroying the frame and the trunk.
Hey Justin I have a 17 Roush stage 3 I think Roush said that with their set up you don't want an open intake.? They made it sound like something like this would hurt my setup not necessarily benefit it. Can you elaborate?
My Airaid didn’t fit right. The tubing lined up to the left of the throttle body on my 2015. Contacted Airaid they sent me new rubber connectors didn’t help.
So I have a Pmas Tune Required Intake for my 2015 GT but I'm getting pretty high inlet temps Does anyone else have the same one and what temp are you getting?
I've been thinking of getting the PMAS, but have been seeing that the temp is high. Thought about making a plate to block the hot air from coming in through the MAF tube to the filter. not too sure how other people have gotten around the hot air getting sucked in to the CAI
eric lira I asked around and have been told it’s pretty normal and don’t have anything to worry about. I’ve been trying to get in touch with some of the reps from PMAS just to see if they know of a work around but have yet to hear from them. On an unrelated note, they’re customer service sucks bad lol. But the Pmas intake does make a difference. I have a Lund tune along side the intake and I went from finishing an 1/8th mile at a consistent 82 mph to 90 mph. Need to fix that high inlet temp to hopefully run that speed consistently
Thanks for the video. In the title you say 2015-2018 but in the vifeo you said 2017max. Are them ok for the 2018?(i know the front of the car changed a little and I was wondering if they fit. Thank you
Guys, dont install a CAI without a tune. Its not worth buying unless you're going to tune it. CAI without tunes are essentially just for looks with maybe a slight gain but nowhere near as much as a tuned one
Both are solid choices! From my time working in customer service and sales with AM, the JTL seems to be a little more popular. I've seen great feedback from both though! -Zach
We offer plenty of K&N products! They can be easily found on our website by following the link below. -Zach www.americanmuscle.com/2015-mustang-cold-air-intakes.html
John Kimbrough unless you go and get it done through ford, they can install it for you and it shouldn’t void the warranty because it’s done by a authorized ford dealer, but that is the costly route they’ll charge a lot in labor and parts caz ya know dealerships
I've had the K&N Typhoon CAI & now the Injen Evolution and notice even with over 12+ Bama Tunes you now have this annoying "Elastic Band Effect".....This pause and then shooting out at acceleration doesn't feel good or safe and I think all after market CAI's do this in general I might just go back to my K&N drop in filter with the stock Ford air intake which I can remember it accelerates when it's suppose to without any type of delay. AM should address this issue and even though I bought the Pedal Commander to help the throttle response it's still apparent!
It runs hotter if your stationary because it's sucking in alot more air it's standing still and just hyperventilating where as moving it's breathing. So if ur in one spot for a long time like 30+ minutes best to just turn the car off if your in a hot climate. Some places like Washington state are cold often so even with CAI it won't be much of a difference from stock as it's breathing cold air the whole time.
Brother man help me! Please please please! I just got a brand spanking new (practically, only 20k miles) 2012 mustang GT California Special. I’m looking into getting many many many mods/ upgrades. Cold air intake, exhaust, tubular headers, reprogrammed ECU, under-drive pulleys, suspension, ceramic brake pads w/ cross-drilled and ventilated rotors with a set of braided steel brake lines. I mean bro, I need phone numbers. I need URL’s and E-mail addresses. I need someone who can do all of the work and take pride in it like it was theirs. I need a artist with a dream. I need a doctor who wants to create a monster.
Your video title says "The 3 Best Mustang Cold Air Intakes For 2015 - 2018". So 2018 Mustang buyers will click on this video. Yet 10 seconds into the video Justin clearly says these intakes are for "the 2015 - 2017 models"...WTF? Did you clickbait us? I F'ing HATE that.
trent Gareth might be a typo. 2018 has different specs from 435 to 460 hp. Which according to many independent Dino runs really around 500 horsepower on a 2018, it is a different animal
No info on performance gains? Shouldn't that be the only thing that matters?
Thomas Bertran was thinking the same thing!
If you notice, none of these guys are showing dyno gains with JUST the CAI. It's always in conjunction with a tune, which we already know, the tune by itself will unlock power. AM is better than this.
With intake alone gains are low
Tho tune and exhaust should be substanstial gains.
If you’re looking for hp gains I believe JLT is the best but you will need a tune
I went with the Air Raid mainly for the how insanely good it looks in the engine bay.
Looks way better then the roush

Cool! Awesome top 3!

This was more of an advertisement for 3 different intake kits they sell than an honest review in my opinion.
These videos almost never apply to me because I own a 14 v6, but I still like watching them !
Any plans to create an update for the best CAIs for the 2018+ Mustang GTs?
Did you get any answers ? Rouch or ford performance I heard these intakes run hotter than stocks ?
Stock is going to be your best setup. No need to spend $400 on a CAI.
Best way to go is Ford Stage 2 performance kit! $700 and get the GT350 Cold air induction and 87mm throttle body along with tuner!!
Where can you get that from
@@arko_0.0 american muscle i think
I don't see PMAS in this video.. did these companies pay to be chosen as top 3 👀
There are no gain with cai because the intake is not restricting hp.
I love mustangs
Hey Justin I have a 17 Roush stage 3 I think Roush said that with their set up you don't want an open intake.? They made it sound like something like this would hurt my setup not necessarily benefit it. Can you elaborate?
I'm waiting for you guys to get the Holley intech intake system on your site.
Let’s ACTUALLY help ppl. PMAS PMAS PMAS..
c and L vs JLT which one is better both are around the same price please help thanks!!
My Airaid didn’t fit right. The tubing lined up to the left of the throttle body on my 2015. Contacted Airaid they sent me new rubber connectors didn’t help.
Won’t fit a 2018 because Ford has a cold air intake with a tube that draws cold air from the grille. Fix the title guys.
Correct. Therefore there's not really a need to replace the 2018+ intake in my opinion.
Was the best cold air intake for 2018 mustang gt
JLT
What about a shaker kit?
How wide is the airraid tube?
PMAS is #1 and then JLT is #2

This is why the cone filter intakes are bad. They defeat the purpose of “cold air intake “ get closed box fellas
Pmas or JLT ?
SALMAN Makki pmas all the way. Jlt only makes a good cold air for the positive displacement superchargers.
Thanks for the video.
In the title you say 2015-2018 but in the vifeo you said 2017max. Are them ok for the 2018?(i know the front of the car changed a little and I was wondering if they fit. Thank you
JLT all day
Guys, dont install a CAI without a tune. Its not worth buying unless you're going to tune it. CAI without tunes are essentially just for looks with maybe a slight gain but nowhere near as much as a tuned one
Also, you're really not doing much with an intake thats boxed in and closed. Let that intake breathe like its suppose to
Got a 2019 what’s the best Intake please anyone ???
Can’t decide between JLT or Pmas
Both are solid choices! From my time working in customer service and sales with AM, the JTL seems to be a little more popular. I've seen great feedback from both though! -Zach
What about jlt intakes
Not endorsed by AM. This was more of an advertisement for 3 different intake kits they sell than an honest review in my opinion.
So you guys don’t sell K and N. Got it.
We offer plenty of K&N products! They can be easily found on our website by following the link below. -Zach

If I bought a mustang brand new, upgraded the intake on my own, would it void the warranty?
Alex Garvey Yes
I have a 17 gt still under factory warranty and I’m debating whether I should buy a intake 😂
Just intake?.... no
John Kimbrough your basically shoving more air into the engine, making if work harder it will void you’re warranty
John Kimbrough unless you go and get it done through ford, they can install it for you and it shouldn’t void the warranty because it’s done by a authorized ford dealer, but that is the costly route they’ll charge a lot in labor and parts caz ya know dealerships
No pmas???
If anything that’s the best one. They probably wanted to up the sales of these 3
I've had the K&N Typhoon CAI & now the Injen Evolution and notice even with over 12+ Bama Tunes you now have this annoying "Elastic Band Effect".....This pause and then shooting out at acceleration doesn't feel good or safe and I think all after market CAI's do this in general I might just go back to my K&N drop in filter with the stock Ford air intake which I can remember it accelerates when it's suppose to without any type of delay. That's not the CAI, its the tune. Upgrade to Lund or Palm Beach Dyno and you'll be happily surprised.
demongawl LoL I’m from palm beach Florida but live in Texas atm and just got a 16 GT is that the name of the tune? You have a link?
will the c and L work with a sct tuner
It will
Maybe 15-17, every CAI for 18 and up is a waste of money
He is just going to speak on what they sale
Does the Cia air intake run hotter than the stock intake ? I am debating but getting mixed answers. Please help
It runs hotter if your stationary because it's sucking in alot more air it's standing still and just hyperventilating where as moving it's breathing. Does the roush intake mess up with water getting on it?
mrburt820 no it should be fine
Monte Saab
Thanks. Now if I could know the real HP gains
mrburt820 you won't have any gains without a tune. Cai are to for better air movement

Went with the Air Raid.
With custom tune or without?

_ REDGTCS Right. That's confusing. I'll soon get a 2018.
