As someone interested in both owning and modifying a Fit beyond handling upgrades these coming videos are greatly appreciated. These cars have been one of the few I have researched to have such limited resources. Even the CR-Z has more available in terms of modding and aftermarket support despite launching with relatively poor reception as a tuner car. As for parts hoarding I can only hope that the increased demand for swap parts would lead to more companies developing and offering parts for the fit. Thanks again and looking forward to the content.
you're doing something big here man! i saw the VTEC Academy video and love that they put the info out there but they definitely left some loose ends in their explanation. a proper series/video on the whole process would be unbelievably helpful. i get why it's gatekept though i mean i love the Fit being a secret weapon with very little knowledge or stigma around it and i want to own more than 1 so i'd actually like to see their prices go down lmao. but at the same time putting the info out there is frankly necessary to turning the Fit into an evolution of itself that we never got

TCS has been doing K-Swaps on these for awhile and they only do the swaps themselves and don't sell kits or help anyone. They go GREAT WORK but it would be nice to just have more info and the ability to swap these. A K24Z7 and 8th Gen SI seats + trans would be a great setup as a Fit Type R
Yep they refuse to sell any of their swap parts or give out any information about doing the swap. They just want you to pay them like 15 grand to do it through them.
Great video no matter what you do the info will come out with social media yourtube someone is going to put it out. No matter what the prices on everything is still going to go up now that the 90s Honda's are becoming more rare & pricey people are starting to swap newer honda models like fits, em2 because its cheaper & easier to find. Also if you do your research your find the info & make it work. Back in the 90s early 2000s okay but nowadays the information will come out someone out there will a camera will do it.
Also to add make a k swap header and you'll open up more people to the swap, hasport has the mounts, but unlike the ef community most the ge8 forums are dead. I wish it was like back in the 90s with hybrid.perf, crx community or Honda tech, but not anymore
in the meantime look at using denso IK22 plugs on the L15A, lots of info on fitfreaks about the advantages but basically kraftwerks did an article way back about tuning a fit and found the denso IK22 plugs sit higher in the cylinder & in turn end up getting more gains than an intake would have alone
been wanting to do a k24 swap also. AQ performance has a Complete guide but after watching Vtec Academy im a bit confused on picking the right package. According to Vtec academy k24z is the easiest but no exact info. AQ seems the only way but damn the wiring seems like a lot of work. please keep us updated!
I have a 2011 Honda jazz GE 5speed and my plan was to get the k24swap, so I asked my shop here in Australia where they do alot of kswap pretty much. as I asked for the price and was given $20k😲 for the kswap🤦🏻 I didn't bother at all and got a Fn2 typeR for 15k instead. But tell u one thing the GE JAZZ handles are better. I don't want to mention the name of this shop lol😂
Even the stock l15a7 shows just how capable this chassis is, gonna be honest and say that I would build the bottom end and supercharge it. Screw a K series rn. Also makes me sad to have sold my GE8 last year, but I just picked up an EF, so that will be my project to build a daily
Gatekeeping is selfish and at the end of the day helps no one. Although I understand the problem of price ups, you can't control what others do. That's going to happen regardless. Information is meant to be shared, resources are a different topic. Nothing happens besides people with the information end up charging for it. That to me, hurts the culture...but it is what it is. Most of the information is there to swap a ge8 and gd3 on the internet via FB groups and UA-cam. Most of the questions on the FB groups that I see are "give me a full list,step-by-step, with links to where i can buy it." Many of us that are swapped or in the process see the same questions that suggest that they have bot even completed step 1 over and over,which definitely does not add to the idea of this gate keeping that is commonly mentioned
The ge8 swap community are basically a bunch of tight lipped for zero reason. Prices are already gouging. You're issues are wiring, header (zero support), otherwise there is zero straight forward swap info other than the guy in Asia that has the eight part series. Most the swappers are gatekeepers. I've been doing the research and the worst part is most the people flexing the ge8 actually didn't do the swap it was a paid project.
Stop being scared and letting a "custom header" get in the way of you kswapping your fit. If you're going through the process of a swap, you'll see that the header is one of the easier aspects of it,unless you really cant find a fab/muffler shop near you

If it is able to be figured out, it ought to be shared as a community, at least in enough detail that enables progress within the community. It is hard to openly share hard fought information, but still, it is harmful to the community as a whole with excessive gatekeeping. The aftermarket industry in general thrives and relies on community knowledge and involvement to keep it going and moving forward. Gatekeeping and exclusivity is how platforms are killed off too early and hurts overall development and continuation of enthusiasm for the sport.

I had a 2007 Fit and I put those plugs on and can say it definitely did run a lot better. Power band was way smoother.
