Idk why UA-cam sent me here, but I'm glad it did. This reminds me of being a kid and picking up cool looking stones on the beach - except with actually knowing what you're looking for!
Gotta love the youtube algorithm right? Sends ya to some super random places😂 that being said im very happy to have you here! Its a very fun hobby for sure!😁 never kniw what you may turn up! Thanks so much for watching!😄
Do you ever have a bad day on the Yellowstone??!! Love seeing you, Alexis and the puppers out hounding. Wonderful video Theo. The blues have to be my favourite but everything you found is so stunning. Yes to a fossil video and a huge yes to finding out if the one rock is a thunder eggs…I gotta know!!! Thanks for taking us along. Have a wonderful time in Florida!
Yeah so any rock in the slideshow would be the find of a lifetime for me. And most of the rocks you left out there on the river too! Happy trails to Florida :)
Theo, do you ever give guided tours of the Yellowstone? My wife and I would love to accompany you on a walk and get some help picking stones for just one day.
Funny how the yellowstone does that to ya; you go out with one thing in mind and end up going home with a bunch of unplanned treasures😂 ill never complain about fossils though!😁
Its a good one for sure!!!😁 we havent even extracted half of those fossils yet😅 gonna be a lot of work but sooo worth it! Thanks so much for watching!☺
Old disabled house bound dusty rusty rockhound here: Wowzer! I could swim in that blue agate. Always a treasure to tag along in your back pack on these expositions!
I just loved this video so much. You have the passion for the elements as I have. I really enjoyed how you knew all the names and damn so lucky a find. I want to spend a week doing just that looking for beautiful stones. This was the first time ever seeing your work.so I'll be looking forward to your next video. Thankyou for shareing
Thank you so much!😄 very glad to have you here!☺ its my passion for sure; you cant have a bad day when you're out on such a beautiful river, even if you're not finding anything! Thank you so much for watching!😄
Wowzer! Fabulous day! Drooling at your finds. Wish you would’ve showed the other rocks you found too (aventurine, etc). Great to see Alexa 😁. I thought she was going to show us another giant find.😆. I’m sure she had to go wrangle molly back to the car. Still love how generous you two are with fostering. Anywho! Friggin fabulous finds 🤩. Your videos are never too long. Too short, I would say. I could watch your channel for hours at a time. Take care. Thanks for the 🎥 Stay Crystal 💫
Thanks do much maribeth!😄 that seriously means so much! That molly is just the walking embodiment of happiness😂we've only had her a year and i cant imagine not having her; shes my big girl for sure! Ill have to do a video highlighting some of the yellowstones more oddball rocks(like aventurine, galaxy stone, quartzites, septarians, etc.) Because there is a whooole lot more than just the agates, jaspers, and petwood☺ thanks so much for watching!😄
Loving the fossils and also the train whistle... Petwood has to be the favorite of your videos I watch... Those gravel beds just keep a rolling forever - AWESOME! Have you ever just sat and dug a small area up to see what was buried? Seen a nice pink rock at 9:28 after you picked up the waterlined material.. Great video as always buddy
Gotta love the yellowstone!😁 some of those gravel bars are just never ending! And you know i have never done amy digging on the yellowstone but that is something i oughta try at some point! Some of those beds are so deep you could probably bring in a rake amd turn up some fresh material! Thanks so much for watching, my friend!😄
Awesome finds as always, my favorite was the one agate with the lines all around it! I have to say the knotty petrified wood was my second! Thanks for sharing!
Beautiful finds Theo! That big agate with the blue on one side (possible Iris) is gorgeous! Beautiful petrified wood knot , and Jaspers! Can’t wait to see inside some of those! Just finished tumbling some Jaspers from your Etsy store, I am over the moon, they are gorgeous!!👍👍👍😃
Absolutely!😁 i can nit wait to get inside some of these finds! That last agate especially has got me suuuper excited! And im so happy to hear that you like your jaspers!!!!😄 they all look so different; so much variation in those yellowstone river jaspers!😁
Love your videos! I'm crazy about Rocks and Fossils so this fills 2 of my loves. Those blues are something, but I also loved the knot piece of petrified wood.
Wow this place is too beautiful 😍😍 so many stones around I would really get crazy looking at this place I would go mad and would want to pick up all the rocks out there 😆😆🤩🤩
I thought everything was awesome but I really like the blue agate! I really like how you identified everything as you showed it at the end of the video. Thanks for a great video.
Thanks so much!😄 id love to ID everything out in the field but my camera doesnt like to get closeups so its just easier once i get back to the shop😅 and totally agree! Theres nothing quite like a true blue montana agate, i get excited about those things no matter how big or small😂 thanks so much for watching!
WOW! Such amazing finds. Love the blue agates, my favorite agates, awesome petrified wood and the jasper colors you found🤩 Very cool fossils and so many! Thanks for a great video Theo! Have an excellent trip to Florida.✌🤠
Never a dull day on the yellowstone!😄 feels like we found a full rainbow of color on this one😁 totally agree though, theres nothing quite like a true blue agate!
I can’t say which one I like the best they’re all gorgeous pieces I’m going to have to make a trip up to Montana to go to the yellow river and visit with you and go rock hunting because I’d love to see what you had done that river and bring home some of them beautiful stones
Right!?😄 i was so excited about those ammonites! The baculites are very easy to find once you know what to look for but my gosh are the ammonites a different story😅 those concretions are extremely unassuming; im sure ive walked right over hundreds of ammonites in my time rockhounding😅
Giday Theo, well which one was my favourite, I would have to go with the Jaspers, you just found some stunners, then again there was that blue. The colours of the Jaspers you found on this hunt are just stunning. Great day on the river and another captivating video. Keep Safe & Keep Rockin
Couldnt agree more! Gotta love that rainbow assortment of color in those things😁 but those reds specifically are just somethin else! Thanks so much for watching!😄
I was actually slackjawed at that last big ole agate that you found. Is that a huge blue? Sweet knotty pet wood! Super fun finds, especially the ammonites! Great preps.
Right!?😁 it definitely has some blue around the quartz pocket! Can not wait to see the slabs on that beastie😄 and right!? We find petwood all the time but those nice knotted pieces are unusual😁
Have been living your videos for awhile now and you reignited my childhood passion for rockhounding. I live in AZ now but grew up in NM, about an hour from Deming so for my recent 60th birthday my husband humored me and took me to Silver City and Deming to go rockhounding. NM has an awesome Facebook group so I asked where to hunt and went to an old flourite mine area. Didn't find anything where they said to look but on the dirt road back we stopped to take a look at the scenery and right at my truck door I found this. Maybe not the best example, but definitely some purple and light green crystals. Lots of iron-y looking stone on the back. Any way to safely remove to showcase more crystal? Thanks for the great content, I get so excited when you get excited. Will be making a trip to MT at some point would love to catch up! Much love to all of you!
I would love to find even one of the agates or pet woods that you find. I have not been able to go out to far from where I live in the Pacific Northwest and now the river that I live by is too high to go to the gravel bars. But I look forward to getting out more next spring and summer. It's hard to pick a favorite, but the little blue and the larger one with that band around it would be my favorites, I think. lol Have a safe trip to Florida.
We're in a similar predicament here in Montana😅 water levels are great but we probably only have another week or two before everything is buried in snow😅 i was so happy to get a good day out so late in the season. And could not agree more; those blues are something special for sure!😁
I need to visit the Yellowstone river! Really loved them all and the petrified wood that was second in the slide show was pretty awesome and the small Jasper with the bright red streak and when you turned it over the whole one side was red was pretty cool too. I will need to bring a u haul to carry all the rocks home I'd fall in love with if I did get out there lol. Have fun in Florida! Where is your favorite shelling place down there? I'm heading Sanibel next fall fingers crossed it's as good of a place as I've heard for shells .
The yellowstone is just outstanding!😁 even the rocks that arent your typical "gemstones" are just phenomenally beautiful! And as far as shelling goes, sanibel is THE place to be!!!😁 absolutely world class shelling when you hit it right! Other than that marco island which is near by is phenomenal, the 10,000 islands take a bit of worl to get to but have amazing shells because of it, and some easier ones to hit would be the beaches around Sarasota👍 we have found some really nice shells in sarasota😄
@@TheoKellison thank you! I can't wait to get there and check all of them out good luck and safe travels! Now the hard part waiting until the fall to get there! Hello, I just found your channel as I was searching for another video. I am a life time ,absolute lover of rocks, stones etcetera!!!! I am not young, I have literally been packing up and moveing my 30-50 large totes of beloved rocks for every move my job sent me to. I have happily left behind new washer/ dryers etcetera, in trade for the space to bring my rocks. That doesn't even count the rocks and stones I keep all over my house. My question to you is, do you truly find all these amazing stone and petrified wood in one spot? If yes, where?! Please give me any cool location that won't be mad if I find pail of rocks. I live in New England. Where c an I go to find good, pretty rocks in Connecticut, Massachusetts, or any of the surrounding areas. I love wood and sticks too! I have a lovely collection of sticks. Cheers and happiness to a fellow rock lover!
I am planning a trip to Montana some time at the end of summer to hunt for petrified wood on the Yellowstone River. I hope you leave a couple for me :)
This is a super video. What is the tool you were using to cleanup around the ammonites? It appeared to be vibrating. I would love to have one of those. Please let me know. Thanks, Mac
