Over 8 Pounds!? My BEST AGATE Yet! Finding Big Agates and Endless Treasures on the Yellowstone!

- In this one, we head out to the Yellowstone river to do some rockhounding! We were very happy to see the water levels back to normal at last! After the turbulent rapids of runoff the gravel had been freshly churned, leaving a plethora of new treasures to be discovered! We found agates, jaspers, petrified and agatized wood, and even fossils! As if all of that wasn't good enough, I found my best agate yet: a beautifully colorful mossy banded agate that weighs over 8 pounds! It was a wonderful day, and it feels fantastic to be able to hunt the river again at last!

It was a good one for sure!😁 gotta love the first few hunts right after runoff, you never know what you may turn up!
Killing it out there this week. And Alexis was on point with those TSAs. If you decide to cut that 8 pounder, you have to let us see it!
Oh absolutely!😄 if/when i cut that one it will definitely be in a video!😁 thanks so much for watching!
Just got home from an epic rockhounding road trip through Montana-found a few agates, some nice jasper, and a ton of petrified wood-and I couldn’t have done it w/o the videos you, Kate, and Agate Angler post. Thank you!
Im so happy to hear that!😄 that is awesome that you got some good stuff!😄
Theo, that was beyond one fine day! With all those amazing treasures you found there is no way I could pick one favorite.
It was one fully loaded day for sure!😁 thanks so much for watching!
Awesome video and amazing finds! The blue agates and the TSA are stunning! Looks like the doggos had a great time too. Thanks Theo, for sharing this adventure with us.

I LOVED the large "red and white" jasper! What a great day!
It was a great day for sure!😄 im very excited to see do something with that jasper!😁
My happy place, you, alexis, and the puppies. May all your agates be mossy, banded goodness!
Oh thanks so much!😄
Super vídeo meu querido Theo!
Very good colorful day thanks for the tag along.
When it rains it pours. Amazing day out😎
Old disabled house bound dusty rusty rockhound here: What an amazing color pallet. You lucky dogs!
You were on fire today! Beauties!
It was a great day for sure!😄
Theo, you're quite the Disney Princess today.
😂right!? Except instead of woodland critters i just attract viciously predatory insects🤣 which is accurate i guess
Wow, those are some great finds! 👍
I have quite a few favourites, wow so many to choose from.
I'm so glad you went back for that jasper.
It's incredible how bright some of them are.
Yeah i couldnt leave that one!😄 that was one gorgeous jasper! I am contantly amazed at how vibrant some of the jasper is in that site😄
I thing everyone was my favorite. What a great time
It was an awesome day for sure!😄
That last one you showed in the little recap, is AMAZING the one end What a Cabochon I could make! LOVE LOVE LOVE! Thank You From Berwick Pennsylvania!!!!
You got some great pieces! Thanks for taking me along.
Of course!😄 glad to have you come along with us!
Love, love, LOVE your videos, Theo, especially when Alexis and the dogs join you! Thanks for sharing all of your fun finds! I need to make it back to the Yellowstone soon! 😊😊
You make me smile every time you get angry at the camera “ focus “😂
It is an ever constant conflict😂🤦🏻 that auto adjust can drive me insane some days🤣
Wow Theo! Phenomenal variety of rocks in one day! Montana has officially "Wowed" me, as well as both you and your wife's ability to spot the "diamonds in the rough" so to speak. I would be in rock heaven if I had a day like that. ( : The dragonfly and praying mantis seemed to be drawn to your vibrational frequency, Theo. That was Super Cool. My fave vid yet.
Fantastic finds, so many beautiful Details to explore, super cool👍
It was a good dau for sure😄 never know what you may find on the yellowstone!
You should go rock hunting on cloudy days more often, what an incredible mix of gorgeous stones. Can't wait to see some of the slabs. I think next time you should hold the dogs and your wife should pick. That would be a neat and different video.😎 Be happy, safe and stay healthy! 😷⚒
Right!? We always seem to do well on overcast days😄 and that is a great idea! Ill have to try and talk her into it😂 she has a great eye for agates so it would be interesting ti see what she could turn uo if she hunted for longer than ten minutes😅
Theo, great finds! My favorites are the blue ones. Just beautiful!
All fantastic…but the little blue at about 20:20 with the tiny poppy dots is a knockout! Thanks…love Alexa’s shoes and the new dog looks sweet.
We need to see all of your slabbed goodies!
Absolutely!😄 i actually have a cutting video coming out very soon!
Go back for the jasper it was beautiful xxx

holy crap !!! you know it's a crazy haul when you can't pick a favorite...love those overcast days haha ! epic adventure/hunt 👏
Excellent video and finds my friend...
You did great young man...👌
I am so jelly!! such awesome large agates!! I went to Duluth and Two harbors and found very small ones.I wish I could find rocks like that here in MN
We are very fortunate to have such large agates here in Montana😄 thanks so much for watching!
I don't know if I could pick a single fav....awesome
You must have an amazing rock garden. I liked the orange and red jasper rock and the Montana agates best
Great finds you are very lucky looks like so much fun!! Love your channel dude
Thank you so much! That truly means a lot!😄 and yes we are definitely fortunate in Montana; there is no shortage of river to hunt so you never know what you might turn up
I have a particular affinity for the red and white jasper stone ! It is spectacular just like it is!
More outstanding finds. I can't pick a fav I want them all 💖
Love those blue agates, really beautiful!
So many amazing finds!
Wow!💎🔥🌎☮️
You found some amazing, gorgeous stones! The blue ones you found are my favorites! I love collecting rocks. I find most of my in Central Illinois corn fields. Just got back from the shores of Lake Champlain and found a few beautiful stones. I don’t have much knowledge of rocks, so I’m going to find out what the ones I found on my trip could. Keep up the great videos!
PEDRAS BELÍSSIMAS!!!
Awesome finds always enjoy your excitement when you find a beautiful stone 😊💙
I love you videos. I rock and fossil hunt in the Nebraska Sandhills
Oh cool! I want to nake over there to do more huntinf someday; we made a few stops on our way through during a trip from colorado to south dakota and found amazing prairie agates😄
@@TheoKellison Crawford Nebraska is awesome for rock hunting. The sandhills have some extremely odd rocks I have never found anywhere. I literally just broke open an ugly rock made of chert and inside was little Brachiopods that were all sparkly.
Dude those blue agates though 🤩
Very nice as usual, I'm sure your spoilt over there, thx
I love praying mantis. Your right they do look very smart😊
You got some sweet finds on this trip. Where’s the River location ? I’m in SD and where I go rock hounding...... you’ll need a dump truck to haul all the jasper, pet wood, prairie agate and water agate from. There’s also lots of feldspar with black tourmaline in it. Keep on making some excellent videos and I can’t wait for the next one.
Yellowstone river in south central Montana😄 i LOVE south dakota! We try to make a trip to the black hills or badlands every year; there is such an amazing plethora of treasures to find in SD!😁 not to mention my all time favorite rock shop on the planet(the rock shed in Keystone)! thanks so much for watching!
Very nice friend U guys found. I love the rock hunts. Awesome videos. Thanks 4 the adventures! Stay safe and God bless! 😊
OK nice rocks as USUAL
But I want to know about Alex's water shoes 😍😍😂
I WOULD REALLY REALLY LIKE TO OWN THE BLUE AGATE!!!!!
the little blue montana agate at 20:19-20:23, looks like it is consisted of small light blue circles, with yellow brown color here and there. interesting...
Oolitic , yes? Love to see it cut.
Wow! Amazing finds, those agates are beyond beautiful! When you put that big red and white Jasper down and said you were going to leave it, I was like NOOO!! 😆 can’t wait to see what you do with those beauties, would love to see some slabs!😃👍👍👍
Absolutely!😄 we will hopefully be cutting into them very soon!😄
Amazing finds! Congratulations!
I have always wanted to look through rocks and all the different things and I have never been able to I have nobody to take me to look through the Beautiful Rock
Equip your dogs with saddle bags then load them up lol
Love ,love, love all the rocks. My favorite is the yellow💛 and red❤ rock I think it was Jasper. You need to take a trip to Michigan where wild Kyle just was. I used to live there and there are hundreds of thousands of rocks.
Being a hounder.. from Illinois find some Montana agate besides the obvious.. cannot afford to drive to Montana...lol... and I love your videos . I'm loving your finds... I am a novice.. always collected "pretty" rocks" but never thought of IDing them so now..I cant tell the difference between jasper and agate... and don't even know if there is agate here where I'm living!! I need a hunting Buddg and tutor@! Thank you for your content!!!
Awesome hunting I wish I was with!!! Great job
You find the best agates❤
I fully understand the self-arguments you have Theo when you come up to a big agate and also jaspers. Tell yourself but it's big oh it will be very heavy. I went rockhounding last Sunday and my goal was small agates/jaspers, etc. but I kept finding big ones. The weight impacted me when I had to get up to a safe area. I have Type 1 Diabetes and I was starting to have a bad turn. I ended up okay but the reality of getting older is bad. All I am saying is the major agreement of the yes/no arguments.
Awesome goodness 👏
treasures for sure
Really gorgeous pieces today! I would love to fly out one day and go rockhounding with you!
You need a little wagon. Great finds
Theo, that smaller yellow-brown well banded piece of wood you show, I would not cut that, that piece leave all beautifully natural- just as is. just my opinion :)
I've been watching you for a long time and I'd say this was one of your best outings! Something is definitely wrong with Yellowstone insects though. They must not see enough humans!😊 Loved the yellowish pet wood piece
and the tsa's.
Most animals here are a bit more mellow honestly😅😂 i dont think they encounter humans too often to be honest! And couldnt agree more! You dont get into treasures like that very often so i was very excited to find so many!😁 thanks so much for watching!
All of these!!!
Dragonflies landing on you are Goodluck. Not sure if it's a Canadian thing only. Great finds!
Alexis should start a channel!
Nice 👍
Wow! 😲👍
i luv u 5ever
Now those are some phenomenal finds. I would love to get my hands on some of the smaller ones for sure. So wish I could have Made it out there for the picnic today. So sad I couldn't. Awesome video.
It was a fun day!😄 extremely hot though, i think it hit 104 at one point😅 we might schedule it at an eralier date next year to avoid the heat😅hope to see you at the next one!😄
@@TheoKellison I hope I can make it. Was house sitting for a friend.
Dragon flies are good luck!
Theo, the TSA is Treasure State Agate= opaque agate... the LSA Lake Superior Agate= opaque agate...
Because kitschy names are necessary.
Lolol made me laugh out loud
The bugs are your friends. My fav bugs are a praying mantis and lightening bug. Neither, sadly, are in my area.
I always get so excited to see praying mantis😁 i went my entire childhood without ever seeing one in Montana, i was probably 17 the first time i ever saw one here, and now we find multiple every year🤷not sure if i was just oblivious to them when i was younger or there are more now but regardless i always have to free handle every mantis i see😂 they are just such amazing little critters!
Ypu have awesome I rocks Color’s arbeyond
Joss,... 😊
No, no, no 6:46 do not leave it behind! (As someone from Northern Indiana, where all stream and river beds are mud and sand i would love to get into gravel beds (originally from Missouri, gravel everywhere!))
Good boy! Knew you would change your mind!
It has that shiny/waxy look ......
I'm filled with jealous rage. you found some amazing rocks! Where is that location? I'd love to take a trip over there someday
How could I get some pieces you find before you cut them or anything?
What is the red colored stones? I’m new to this!
The bright reds are jasper😄 great for cutting and polishing and make some beautiful jewelry!😄
where's that jasper? I'll come get it!!!
Been looking but haven't seen a link to your shop? Are you open to the public? My boys and I would love to visit. They're 6 and 4 and are both starting to 'out hound' me!!
I have some of those (large orange /pink and white) stones from down here in AZ, where I've found fossils too. People have told me it's a jasper, and others say coral. A lot of them are smaller with no white. What would be your best guess? It wasn't an expert like you that told me. I'm just asking for your best guess..,..
How the value of agate is determined?
So awesome rocks but the mantis is a big fat nope
bug friends
If you ever get to Louisiana get in touch with the Baton Rouge Gem and Mineral Society. The Amite River near Baton Rouge has fossilized coral, agates, petrified wood and much more. Don't go hunting on your own as people are very protective of their river front property and won't hesitate to call the Sheriff's department on you. Louisiana does not have the same laws as other state so be cautious and respectful. Rock trading is welcome.
Thanks for the info I'm a new rockhounder I live in Bossier City and watch Gravel Bar Hoppers channel and was planning a fall trip to find agates. I'm clueless of where to go.
@@empress6491 Your welcome. As your are familiar with the customs of the state, just be careful. Parking along the roads is not allowed in many places. Take a large bucket and a Sherpa to carry it as it will fill quickly. LOL
Im good friends with gravel bar hopper so if/when i make it to Louisiana i will absolutely be headinf out with him to do some hunting!😄 those crowley ridge agates are spectacular!
I absolutely love love love watching you agate, fossil, jasper hunt BUT absolutely can not stand your use of words that's REALLY means the same as the words they replace, I have been a rock hound for almost 60 years & have never gotten the awesome privlege you all have to hunt the beautiful stones,... you have I would absolutely 💯 love to continue supporting your channel & watching but I used to have to put up with the terrible when I was growing up but I can't & won't listen to it from anyone now that I have a choice so it is time for you to choose more bad language replacement words & loose supporting subscribers or clean up the language issue & keep & gain more of us more conservitive subscribers 🤷🏻♀️
No don't leave it bring a wagon next time!!!!
Male praying mantis are killing after they mate with the female. So you had a young female praying mantis on your hand and the female praying mantis that was on your arm was an adult praying mantis Theo.
