The scenes when they are wrapped in sheets and sweating with tremors? That's what detox looks like.

This song takes me back to when I quit using drugs. It will be 28 years this August. And I am grateful to still be here, as I really should be dead. The Dr told me had my friends kept from bringing me to the hospital. I would not be alive. I am also 12 years sober from alcohol. It's a one day, one moment at a time process. Thank you guys for this reaction!

Tom can't only tell a story but paints a picture with his story. The visuals on this just wow. I felt the pain and hurt and they showed that emotion with the story telling and body movements. This one hits home. I lost a brother just a few days ago due his relapse. He was something special and he ls proof that anybody can fall prey to addiction and fight like hell to stay sober but we all fall short of perfect.

I almost relapsed a few months ago. I was having a hard time with life and struggling not to go back to the bottle. I discovered this song, and it helped. I'm still having a hard time, but things are getting better bit by bit. Sober three years now. Not the longest, but I'm proud of it. Tom Macdonald makes songs that really do help, I love him for that, and I love you guys. Keep making videos.

This song is my sober anthem. 14yrs clean from opiates and alcohol 💪🏼. Sadly the people fading out and disappearing in the video towards the end are representing the ones that lost the fight to their addictions. #HOG4LIFE

This is my favorite song by Tom. I dont struggle with addiction myself but I'm surrounded by family that has or still is. Songs like this give me hope for the ones I love that are still lost

This song and I Wish, are the 2 songs that hit close to home for me. Being a former substance abuser and running away from my problems is how I spent my youth. Not going to play the victim card. Focusing on the future and being a good family man and someone to be proud to know rather than be ashamed to know.
I had technically left my bad habits behind before this song was released but this songs hits me in the core Everytime I hear it. This is my favorite Tom song.

I have been watching your videos recently and really enjoy them. Keep up the great work! I will just say that I have been sober for nine months now after 25 years of drinking and this song hit home when it came out. I was still drinking at that time, but enough was enough. It’s not easy and is a battle you’ll fight for life. Nine months ago I was at the lowest point in my life and I couldn’t have ever imagined it would be as good as it is now. You just have to keep going. It will get better!

After I received a medical discharge from active duty navy back in 2010 I went through 4-5 years of drugs and alcohol and lost everything that I gained in life and came very close to dieing a few times as well. Almost died a few times just trying to get some sleep. This song hits me hard with how I was and now I am slowly getting higher on the stairs. I almost died in Iraq ant my body is crippled but now I don't take any drugs or anything except mountain dew. This song made me cry because I know exactly how it is.
i listened to this song originally bc of madchild, i didn't know tom at the time, this was the song that begun my journey of following the rabbit hole that is tom macdonald. its so very inspirational xo

5 year's sober, this song hit me with so much positive energy for sobriety. Sober life, is a GREAT LIFE! also his song I don't drink, that's more of the funny reminder of why We don't drink anymore.

I was 22 married unhappy drinking all the time everyday we didn't get along at all that lasted 3 years and we finally split up now I rarely drink and when I do I've really learned to moderate and control myself and learned to love myself and be myself without alcohol thru it all I really realized I didn't need alcohol to be myself and I do like a cold one every now and then which I find nothing wrong with

I was a jr high dropout, and homeless at 17 while addicted to heroin.
Just graduated with my Masters degree December 2020 at the age of 34. My brother died at age 34 in 2018 from a drug overdose. Never give up people. Never.
Anthem for everyone that struggled with addiction during their life. Gets me choked up every time.
My brother in law is dealing with addiction. As someone who has never really gone through that, it's really hard for me to understand and not just be angry. Tom has helped a lot with understanding. I still don't know what to say, but I find myself being less angry and more sympathetic. I've have turned him onto Tom, and hopefully that can help him more then I can. He really likes Tom and has been going down the rabbit hole.

This song shows the struggle...I was fortunate to beat alcohol and pain pills...its a fight daily to not give in..I live with a level of pain that I was eating pain pills like candy..3,4,5 at a time and washing it down with whiskey...I watched people lose that battle..I decided I didn't want to die that way...and I fight with it everyday...so much respect to Tom, Nova, and Madchild for doing this one...

The only words I'd have are "stay strong and true to yourself". No one has to go through life alone. Even though it is extremely hard, never compare yourself to others. Every one has their own demons.
As for you two! Love the content. I believe I have seen you do some country. If you haven't, I would love to see you two do some Home Free. I'd suggest starting with their cover of "Ring of Fire" and then maybe "Man of Constant Sorrow". Like country or not, I think you be pleasantly surprised (Especially if you DON'T research much before). If you HAVE done them and I'm just missing it, keep up the good work! I like your reaction. I also enjoy seeing family's making you tube channels, and doing things together, and reacting together. If I had to ask you guys to do something it would be to try and get more family's to make more you tube channels because we use to be a country built on family, but people are so divided, and it just makes this world stupid, crazy, and just boring as hell. The cops drug me outta my home & showed me my brother hanging from the 2nd story balcony; I went on a suicidal binges of pills & booze then finally almost died myself so I went to a place for almost 2 years. Gave up control of my $$; car & freedom & privacy & have NEVER gone back. I can have drinks I'm not an addict, I was just hopelessly lost w/o my bro and my best friend in the world! #HOG4ever

I’m about 1 week, 2 days since my last drink. To say I was an alcoholic may not be completely accurate, but I could sense I was growing a dependence on it. After finding Tom and listening to his music, it has convinced me to turn away from it. Also trying to turn my attention to better food; feeling sick all the time and gaining weight isn’t fun.
I don’t listen to Madchild much anymore because he swears a lot in his music but he is in charge of Battle axe warriors and is a lyricist. His songs are really catchy.

December 2020 I went to my son's house and found him on the lawn. He'd OD'd. I could hear occasional deep gurgling noises and I turned him over to see blue lips, blue hands and I remember leaving myself. Instead of helping him I froze, started yelling for someone to call an ambulance while I did? I have no idea. I tried cleaning the thick fluid from his mouth begging him not to die. Thank god the police came because left in my hands he would have died. They rushed him to the hospital and I was just void of all humaness. I felt like a black hole of despair. This was the third time in a year he'd overdosed on fentanyl that looked just like oxy. He lost half his pancreas, it died inside him so he's now a diabetic. They told us in the hospital he would never eat food again but would be tube fed if he managed to survive. He would have to go into long term care until he adjusted to the feeding tubes. He went into full organ failure. He was not expected to live. The doctors told us he was an anomaly when he walked out of the hospital 3 weeks later minus the feeding tubes. They told him this kind of chance was rarely ever given to anyone. No one thinks he's make it but me. I'm a wreck even though he's in rehab now and doing well. He thinks he has it beat. That's what frightens me the most. Every day I wake up waiting for the phone call telling me he didn't make it this time. But I have hope. Without hope I'm just that black hole of despair. So I'll keep hoping and being there for him. I will NEVER give up. And I will take CPR classes. Yes I will.
Y'all should check out Butterfly by Kyle Fletcher. His father is a sheriff for Ramsey county in Minnesota. Kyle passed away from drug overdose backing 2015. The song was the last song that was never released until his father found it and put it on UA-cam for people to listen to. It's a great song.
