Holly, Im 8 months sober myself, and i can tell you that you do still feel like crap, your heads still fuzzy, your still in the hardest part of recovery. The improvement your noticing now is NOTHING compared to what you will feel at around a month sober. Keep up that grind and you will get better every day. Even if you do stumble make sure it is JUST a stumble. With loving family and friends to help you through this you can do it. #HOG

Keep it up Holly!!!! Tom & Nova's music REALLY helped me through my battle with alcoholism... Everyone's journey through this is different but some of Tom's songs helped GREATLY!!!! If you haven't heard it I recommend "Withdrawals" when he put that song out I literally was on the brink of a relapse but it SAVED me... I'm 192 sober and loving it again!! KEEP it up Holly!!!

Tina I am 18 years sober and I never want to go back. I still remember like it was yesterday and that keeps me going. The anxiety and depression get me sometimes and it scares me but I look at my kids and husband and thank god for them everyday. 1 year in prison sobered me up and then I meet my now husband and he was lost as well fighting his demons. So we truly saved each other!!!! Just wanted to share. Prayers and love are sent your way!!!

Stay strong girl! You can do this. I was a bad alcoholic back in the late 80's and the 90's. I drank a fifth of tequila a night and half a case of beer. I also kicked a grand a day cocaine habit. It was NOT easy! But I did it. Cold turkey. I am a Daddy's girl, the pain I put my Daddy through I will never forget. I feel your pain, the tears from both of you say it all. Remember the chorus--time to mend your broken wings.

The biggest issue I had quitting drinking was that I had nothing to occupy myself with or look forward to.
Idle hands are the devils playground.

Girl, don't let that embarrass you! I promise, one day you will wear it as a badge of honor. Then you can help other people who are suffering the same way. I've been clean and sober for 25 years as of June 6th. That life I lived used to shameful for me. I tried to hide it. Now, I tell anyone who will listen that there's hope, no matter how far down you go.

great reaction and discussion. try not to get overwhelmed.... that's one of my hardest times is feeling overwhelmed. another thing is if you slip up try and let it just be a slip up and keep going forward. Relapse is part of Recovery. I was going to suggest Daxs Dear ALCOHOL song too. That song touched so many people. theres all kinds of videos with people doing there own verse to it and they are so good. Im not trying to act all perfect or anything. im far from it. but sharing our experience strength and hope is part of me staying alcohol free. not sure if youve ever read any of the big blue AA book but its really good. the back is full of short stories. the whole AA outline is basically a good formula to living a happy life. 😊 I live in a tiny town ( in Southern Illinois actially)and have no license so I dont go to AA meetings now but I did 3.5 rounds in rehab and I learned alot. my problem is taking that knowledge and applying it. same as knowing a cheeseburger isnt what i need to be eating but eating it anyways. lol sorry for the long comment. keep on keepin on girl☮☯️
