- The Coyote Buttes Trail is a 4 mile loop trail hike starting at the Cottonwood Teepees trailhead in the Paria-Canyon-Vermillion Cliffs Wilderness area in Arizona. Due to the trail-finding challenges and the remoteness of this hike, it’s considered moderate. With colorful rocks swirling like saves across the desert, this is the home to some of the most unique geological formations in the world.
Awesome video Bob!
Liked, subbed and shared!
Thanks for the sub!
Great video Bob, takes me back to some amazing memories of that place!
Glad you enjoyed it
Love the soundtrack, Bob. Who is it?
Just something I found on Corel Video Studio.
Beautiful video 😍
One of the less known gems in the Southwest.
Wow, great video of a spectacular place. I will be in Kanab for a week in early October and will enter the lotteries for the South Coyote Buttes and the Wave. Did you have any issues driving there with a high clearance 4WD vehicle?
No issues with 4 wheel dr!
Good luck successfully getting a permit for the Wave. They have cut way back on the number they are giving out. But it's fab if you u can get in.
@@adventurelifewithbob2960 Hi Bob. I did not get a permit for the Wave (as expected) but I did get a one day permit for South Coyote Buttes online yesterday for early October. I also plan to visit White Pocket, and since there is no permit required there I will camp overnight near the trailhead. That will allow me to hike and photograph it late afternoon to sunset and again sunrise to early morning.
Have you driven directly between the trailhead for White Pocket and the Cottonwood Cove trailhead for South Coyote Buttes? It looks like there's a fairly short route between them (1086 to 1323 to 1084 to 1082) that doesn't include any of the heavy sand roads the BLM says to avoid. I'm thinking I could spend a second night camping at the White Pocket trailhead and go straight from there to the Cottonwood Cove trailhead early on the morning of my South Coyote Buttes pass instead of driving all the way out and all the way back in. Just wanted to know if you've drive the route between the two trailheads. I will call the Kanab BLM office to get their take on whether that's a viable plan or if I should make 2 separate trips.
Also, have you visited the part of South Coyote Buttes that's near the Paw Hole trailhead? I understand it's not supposed to be as good as the Cottonwood Cove area, but if I get to the Cottonwood Cove area early enough I might have time to stop by the Paw Hole trailhead late in the day (but would drive the longer route to go around the deep sand portion of 1079).
