Quicksand and High Water: Hiking the Paria Canyon
Вставка
- Опубліковано 26 вер 2024
- A four day solo journey down Paria Canyon and Buckskin Gulch following the massive flash floods of Spring 2023 in Utah / Arizona. In order to complete this 40 mile backpacking trip, I had to pack a wetsuit, GPS, waterproof everything, get stuck in quicksand, and cross the freezing cold river hundreds of times. This trip offered a unique experience to see Paria truly alone - I did not see another human for the entirety of the four days, and I was the first to attempt since the death of several hikers and the rescue of 19 others during May 2023.
Wishing the best for the families of those affected by the flash floods- unfortunately- the rain storms continue to cause flooding and more deaths in this area since this trip.

Another good one! No alternative but to subscribe. Keep the Utah coming... This was a great hike.
If he went to Flagstaff for a burger then he had to be in Arizona, not Utah.
Not just very good looking recordings, but also a pleasant guy to listen to :) thanks for taking us with you. Much love from the annoyingly boring flat Netherlands..
But Paria is in both Utah and AZ so your both right.@@indtexcol

Foolish to go in there with rain
Guillermo is a crazy mofo - he tooks us back in June of 2022. Did he drive you 90mph down the dirt road?

That is speechless landscape. Water is one of the most amazing things besides clouds. Where does it really come from and why? How much is it?
