Any tips for balancing work and hobbies? I need to decicate at least 3 hours a day to work towards my piano LTCL and I'm also taking the IB. Just these two are already hard enough to balance and I also have to dedicate a huge amount of time annually to my school's Chess Club, choir, etc.
Prioritise. If getting into a competitive university is your goal then focus on the stuff that actually adds to your application and cut away all time sinks. If you’re not playing piano at a competitive level then there’s no reason to do it for 3 hours a day unless you really enjoy it and don’t want to reduce it. But don’t forget that it won’t add much in that case and you’ll have less time. So prioritise. Choose one or two things you want to get VERY GOOD at.
@@Anonymous-jf2gy I'm semi-competitive I guess? I've played in the finals of a few international comps but never won anything crazy like 1st or something. I'm planming to do a dual-degree in the future which includes piano.
Dude I am halfway into the first semester of Grade 11 (IB). My midterms are about to start. I know what you mean when you say maintain perfect grades and then focus on your ECS but it is really hard to maintain those grades. It takes like 95% to maintain them. HELP
Make a list of 10 & then focus on fewer, maybe 3 of them, with a clear motivation on exactly WHY you chose those. Then go back to study again & see how the rest of the year goes. Edit: You still have a full summer between grade 11 & 12. So use your time then very well! God luck 🍀!
I feel kind of lost now as a sophomore in highschool, but it's time to switch routes!
Yessir! You still got a lot of time, I'm rooting for you
could you perhaps make a video on how to optimally balance supercurriculars and academic coursework (mantain focus between both?)

@@plaguedoc7727 Cool. Best of luck to you man! Give me updates
Isn't 10 extracurriculars a little excessive (i.e. when it comes to extracurriculars doesn't quality matter more than quantity)?
also these tips are generally applicable for any syllabus, correct?
