I really appreciate you taking time out of your day to watch this video. Thank you so much. This is one of the coolest ships out there even though it’s a cruise ship.
Ship was stationary in the harbor, but anchors were not down. Must be using its engines and bow thrusters to automatically maintain position. Pretty cool.
I picked this up using AI: The Viking Octantis expedition ship uses a computer-controlled dynamic positioning (DP) system to maintain its position without anchors or mooring lines. The DP system uses GPS and thrusters to keep the ship in place, even when anchoring is difficult. This allows the ship to hover in place, making it easier for guests to board small craft for excursions. The DP system also helps to minimize damage to fragile areas like seabeds.
Thanks, Mike, for this awesome video. Reminded me of the time I was on the MS Noordam, and we were going into the Panama Canal, and it was not daybreak yet. The work you do for all the boat friends is second to none. Many thanks for your professionalism my friend. Peace!!
Thank you for this film and giving so much of your time to bring it to us. I was thinking that the tender looked like it could be converted to a 'live-aboard' boat!!!! :)
@@vibewithmike As I’ve mentioned before I grew up in South Carolina. Spent lots of time in Charleston so I’ve seen lots of ship traffic. But the Great Lakes is just amazing to me . And I had no idea they had cruise ships like thst on Superior..Thanks again for these videos.
@shawncosmos5431 I have been to North Carolina, but I never made it to South Carolina however, I’ve heard wonderful things about the place. A short drive to the ocean anywhere in South Carolina.
@@vibewithmike I’m living outside of Columbia now and can be on the Charleston coast in just over a couple hours. And in 31/2 we’re in the Appalachian mountains…
That is one very hi-tech and luxurious ship, with ticket prices to match. If I ever win a lottery, I'd love to sail on the aboard the Polaris or its sister ship, the Octantis. Easily the most impressive passenger vessels that regularly cruise on the Great Lakes.
But definitely is expensive, but I guarantee you it’s worth every penny. The food I bet is spectacular! The itinerary looked really cool. Going from Toronto to Duluth and all those stops in between. That’s my type of cruise. Maybe they’ll have a big discount someday for us? I hope we get to join those passengers someday on that ship
@StephanieBenner-tj3xd those are hours that we really never need to get back because it helps us relax and have some legitimate downtime while having some fun
I was at Bayfield WI several years ago when a Viking Cruise liner came in. It was surprising how FEW passengers got off the ship. The town was waiting for 200 passengers but only about 35 actually came ashore. The ship WAS beautiful. I have a number of pictures taken from my boat.
If you start watching at 1:06, look for a hull symbol that looks like a key. That figure tells tugs that a fin stabalizer is under the water line which protrudes outward alway from the hull.
The absolutely beautiful country of Australia! Someday I will get there. Until then, I hope you enjoy these ships. Thank you so much. Please subscribe and come back my friend.
That is one gorgeous cruise ship! Love the sleek look of the bow on her. The Duluth Harbor Lift Bridge looks great lit up at night. The Viking Polaris looks great all lit up. I always dreamed about how cool it would be to take a Viking cruise ship vacation on the Rhine River in Germany. I've seen commercials of the ships going past Castles on the Rhine. Have you ever taken a cruise ship holiday out of Duluth Mike? That would be a spectacular video of you taking a video of it. The Polaris just effortlessly sails down that canal. That looks like so much fun! Thanks for the great video Mike... I always enjoy and look forward to them. ⚓🚢⚓
I have never been on a cruise ship. I have so many people that have told me that I need to get on a cruise ship. I’ve always thought that it’s too claustrophobic. However, I’ve seen many videos and pictures that prove that I’m wrong. I have a friend of mine that’s on a cruise ship right now. I’m waiting to hear about what he hast to say about it. I definitely will get on a cruise ship at some point. I can almost guarantee that I will say to myself, why didn’t I do this earlier?
Very cool Mike. I might track it to see it up close at the Welland Canal in a few days. FWIW I was on Vancouver Island recently and watched three cruise ships enroute to Vancouver and later that night watched three different cruise ships heading north. Pretty cool stuff seeing them lit up at night.
@@vibewithmike we watched the three Vancouver bound in daylight and the three Alaska bound we saw at night from my friend's house - lit up like Christmas trees.

You coming over in the boat to WP for the Baie
@eliaslundtheboatnerd I’m down by the bridge right now. I don’t think I’m gonna make it down there. I’m going to rely on your photos brother.
@@vibewithmike watched them both go under the blatnik and chose the Baie Comeau instead of the PRT
@eliaslundtheboatnerd that’s a good move. Nobody’s going to have videos or photos of that one. I’m going to start looking to see if you have a helicopter. Man, you can really get places.
Enjoyed your video, a great sight.Kind regards.Worcestershire UK
Hello my friend from the United Kingdom! I have to get out your way to record some unique vessels as well. Thanks again for taking time out of your day, all the best to you and your wonderful place to live.🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧
Beautiful work ❤
Hey friend! How was your Labor Day going? I hope it’s a good one. Thank you for taking time to watch the video and also taking extra time to leave a very uplifting and positive comment. I hope you don’t miss this video from a couple days ago. ua-cam.com/video/DS44B3Ououc/v-deo.htmlsi=oUvBRFqP6wyFbkwE
Bucket List item to go on this!! Such a fun travel schedule too.. would be great boat watching! 🚢
Same here, it’s such a cool looking ship and you know the service is awesome
@@vibewithmike some clients at work have been on them and love them service is 2nd to none! They have said best cruise they have been on
@charlieathmann I hope someday you and I are able to tell people what it was like on that ship
Indeed awesomely awesome Mike. Thanks for the front seat! What a treat.
Absolutely! All the best to my friend
Thanks Mike
No, thank you! Thank you for taking time out of your Friday to watch the video and even more time to leave a nice comment like us
That's one of the best videos I've seen. Keep up the good work Mike.
What an unbelievably cool compliment. I hope I can keep making these videos that you like. Thank you, my friend.
Awesome
Thank you so much for enjoying the video and leaving it comment. All the best.
Fantastic! Wow - very nice ... and Mike, the night shots are simply beautiful!
I really appreciate you taking time out of your day to watch this video. Thank you so much. This is one of the coolest ships out there even though it’s a cruise ship.
love your vids
What a very nice thing for you to say! I hope you have a great weekend plan. I really mean it, thank you so much.⛴️👍👋
Ship was stationary in the harbor, but anchors were not down. Must be using its engines and bow thrusters to automatically maintain position. Pretty cool.
That’s exactly right, it has a system that is able to keep that ship stationary without using in anchor in calm water
Very Cool Video Mike. Seen her at the Locks last Month. Hope your week end is good 👍⚓
That’s really cool being able to talk about cruise ships on Lake superior
Hey boat friend cool video night lights
The ship really has awesome lights
Great job and catch @Vibe with Mike!❤
It really turned into a full day. I’m waiting for the ship, but I’m glad I did. How cool was it to see it at night?
Great video again Mike!Have taken cruises but I really would enjoy one on the Great Lakes
It’s one of the most beautiful cruise ships I have seen. It’s not the largest, but it looks really cool and modern.
Way way cool loved it
I really appreciate you taking a few extra minutes with the comment like usual. Super appreciate you bud.
Beautiful ship and a good video
Thanks Anthony! I hope you’re having a wonderful Sunday. Thanks for taking extra time to leave a comment after watching the video.
Great to see the Viking Polaris! I’ve done a few cruises in my time so might look for one having recently visited Duluth in person!😜
It would be awesome to do a video from this ship someday
It's so nice to see a normal size criuse ship..... instead of those monstrous
ones that are the size of a city block!!!❤😊🙏
Yes, this is a smaller cruise ship that is focusing on the passengers having a very intimate personal experience
Very beautiful
I’m so glad that you enjoyed it. Happy Friday, my friend. Thanks so much.
Mike,
Great video of Polaris!!! That night departure was very cool!
Take care Boat Friend!
Dave Heilman
Dave, thank you so much for checking in. All the best your brother. Have a great weekend.
Thanks for video.
It’s my absolute pleasure! Thank you so much. Please subscribe and come back my friend.
Thanks, Mike, for this awesome video. Reminded me of the time I was on the MS Noordam, and we were going into the Panama Canal, and it was not daybreak yet. The work you do for all the boat friends is second to none. Many thanks for your professionalism my friend. Peace!!
I think anybody that takes a trip on a vessel if they said they went through the Panama Canal, that is like climing Mount Everest on the cool meter
@@vibewithmike Even with my bad health and advanced age Mt. Everest, just to see it is on my bucket list.
@scottlewis8681 it would be unbelievable
Thank you for this film and giving so much of your time to bring it to us. I was thinking that the tender looked like it could be converted to a 'live-aboard' boat!!!! :)
Those tender boats are very cool. They’re actually a lot faster than many people think. I’ve seen them really blazing through the water before.
Thanks for the video Mike, I get to see that cruise ship often here on the Detroit River.
The Detroit River has so many ships to watch. There’s probably four times amount of ships you can see on that river compared to Duluth.
Good job Mike 😀
Thanks, I appreciate you watching the video. Have a wonderful Sunday.
Good work pal! Very awesome footage. 3:16 I never get tired seeing breaking waves there. Amaxing Lake Superior!!! Thanks!
Excellent timestamp!! I’m glad that you enjoyed that part. It’s always fun putting these clips together with these beautiful ships.
@@vibewithmike As I’ve mentioned before I grew up in South Carolina. Spent lots of time in Charleston so I’ve seen lots of ship traffic. But the Great Lakes is just amazing to me . Ships from the other side of the world ending up in the middle of the US. Thise breaking waves look rougher then he Atlantic.
@shawncosmos5431 do you live in a perfect spot where you can drive to all of the cool stuff
This is just fantastic!! Love the night shots. It's also really exciting to see cruise ships in the Great Lakes!😊❤
Stephanie, it was really an all day affair going out watching this boat and waiting for it to depart. It was well worth the wait in my opinion.
@@vibewithmike I would agree! I've spent many hours at the Canal waiting for ships, and have never regretted one of those hours. 😍
@StephanieBenner-tj3xd those are hours that we really never need to get back because it helps us relax and have some legitimate downtime while having some fun
Very nice night video of cruse ship at night coming out of the channel under the lift bridge.
Nice to see there are cruise ships on the great lakes.
It’s always fun watching the different ships going through the canal. A cruise ship at night is pretty special though.
WAY COOL MIKE!❤
Thanks friend! I think it’s cooler being one of those passengers. Can you imagine the trip that they had?
Was wondering of the Viking would be a fun trip
It would be awesome to be on the ship!!!!!!
She’s a beauty, i would love to take a cruise at some sea/lake with her! Thank’s for this one Mike😃👍
It was the first time that this ship has ever left this late! It was the darkest and I was able to finally see the lights on this ship at night
@@vibewithmike it’s magical, just like an UFO on water….
@ostbagar3 exactly, it’s like a spaceship on the water
@@vibewithmike 😃👍
@ostbagar3 👍⛴️🙏
I was at Bayfield WI several years ago when a Viking Cruise liner came in. It was surprising how FEW passengers got off the ship. The town was waiting for 200 passengers but only about 35 actually came ashore. The ship WAS beautiful. I have a number of pictures taken from my boat.
That’s very interesting, so just because a cruise ship arrives doesn’t necessarily mean they’re gonna get the full wave of the passengers
If you start watching at 1:06, look for a hull symbol that looks like a key. That figure tells tugs that a fin stabalizer is under the water line which protrudes outward alway from the hull.
Nice piece of information here for people to check out Chuck. Thank you.
Thanks Chuck!
@GHarris218 ⛴️👍
@@vibewithmikeHi Mike! You snuck one out in the middle of the night! 😄 Can't wait to see this!
@DressyBessie it was the coolest cruise ship departure I’ve ever seen
Hi Mike, great coverage details and info, I really enjoyed it from Sydney, Australia.
The absolutely beautiful country of Australia! Someday I will get there. Until then, I hope you enjoy these ships. Thank you so much. Please subscribe and come back my friend.
Pretty awesome and exciting Mike! What a fun video. Impressive!!
Thank you, my friend! I hope you are doing great. It’s always nice hearing from you. You always leave a nice comment.
I'm impressed by how big the great lakes are and the ships. Just watched a video about the great lakes.
(I'm from Europe)
I hope you’re doing great. It’s wonderful hearing you from Europe. Thank you so much for taking time out of your day. All the best to you.🙏👍⛴️
That is one gorgeous cruise ship!
That is a whole nother world to me Would not know what kind of clothes to bring aboard. Thanks for the show Mike
I really appreciate you
Very cool Mike. I might track it to see it up close at the Welland Canal in a few days. FWIW I was on Vancouver Island recently and watched three cruise ships enroute to Vancouver and later that night watched three different cruise ships heading north. Pretty cool stuff seeing them lit up at night.
That must’ve been awesome doing that. What is the weather good at least when you were tracking the ships?
@@vibewithmike we watched the three Vancouver bound in daylight and the three Alaska bound we saw at night from my friend's house - lit up like Christmas trees.
No, that’s another place. I have never been. Alaska, I would love to visit that place.
Another awesome video thanks Mike your buddy from Brantford ontario canada cheers buddy ❤❤❤❤❤
