@@Skeezer66 No, that was Courtney who wrecked their cred and was part of the reason Madonna couldn't stand her. Their album jacket included contact info for booking information and listed the address of their manager's office in LA, so in an interview with Rolling Stone, Courtney accused them of being usurpers who moved up from California to hitch onto a zeitgeist they had no right to. Not sure why you say they didn't have longevity. They're still playing and putting out records. Last one was released in 2016 and have one coming out in September this year. They unfortunately didn't get much airplay after their first CD. They've outlasted Nirvana, STP, Soundgarden, I can't think of many other grunge/alternative bands from their era that are still around: AIC, Pearl Jam, 3EB?

Nobody has reacted to Cover Me or Blossom!?!? We need to get Candlebox more love on reaction channels. LEAD THE WAY, JAMAL!

Singer Kevin Martin says the song was written about him giving up addictive drugs when he turned 18 because he saw the destruction it was causing his family as he was stealing money from his parents to feed his addiction. Martin said he went to see Midnight Oil in concert one night and their singer, Peter Garrett, forever changed his trajectory.
Jamal, if you dug Candlebox's two anti-drug tracks, then definitely seek out 'Change,' 'Cover Me,' 'Simple Lessons,' and 'It's Alright.'

You absolutely have to do "Cover Me"... still gives me chill after all these years with just the first few notes. Candlebox is one of the most underrated rock bands from the early 90s. They're great live..so much energy. Arrow, Simple Lessons ,Blossom and it's alright are some other good ones.

I saw them in 2017 at the sls which is the Sahara now, they played at the pool for komp radio stations in Vegas for the end of summer kegger party . This was the last song and at the end the singer was leaving and I got a high five as I was at the base of the stairs of the stage. Very cool band!

I'm glad you got around to reacting to Candlebox. They are my top tier bands ever. I've been going to loads of their concerts over the years. In fact, I'm seeing them in September when they come to Nashville! Kevin is awesome to hang out with.
They have many many good ones spread throughout all their albums, but 'Miss You' is one of my favorites cause it's about his dad who was in WWII.

Such an amazing, passionate song that is one of the best of the Grunge era. It has a surprisingly funky, off-kilter rhythm pattern. I've always loved this song. I never really cared for "Far Behind," but I will definitely ask you to react to the last hit they had, "Simple Lessons." That's another great one by Candlebox.

Thanks so much for for reacting to this specific song. Not many people in my country have even heard of this band. I was completely lost and angry in my late teens and this song and Weak by Skunk Anansie got me through a very dark time in 2000. I only just found your channel about a month ago and I recently had a migraine that lasted 16 days. Thankfully, I am coming out of that crushing pain now, but I have missed music so much (due to the extreme sensitivity to any light and sound). You don't know how essential music is to your soul until it has been denied due to illness. ❤️😃

For some reason, the lyrics to this song remind me of “Shame” by Stabbing Westward. That song is more about a relationship than drugs, but the dependency theme makes me think of it. If you ever want to be entertained during a music video, that’s a great one. It’s a weird mix of horror and comedy, like a mini movie, and the song rocks really hard. Still one of my favorites many years later.
I haven’t done drugs either (learned from my parents’ mistakes) but I’ve seen the damage it can do. This song cuts deep.
