Wow, this is the first time I've ever heard this song in English. I had to learn Spanish version in middle school and it's stuck with me ever since. Both are beautiful.
I heard this song all the time on the radio in Colorado, when I was growing up in the 70's, in its original Spanish version. Believe it or not, this is the FIRST time I've heard this song in English! A bittersweet song, to be sure; a song of love and longing. I've often wished I had learned Spanish. Thank you for this! ☺
I as well only heard this in elementary school, but my mom being Italian she actually understood it, and with a uncle in the recording industry, she found the English version, and I love both versions, only since I received a long cut English version. Cool ass track in any language! !!!!!!!
I’m probably 10 years older than you but have amazing memories of songs we sang at assembly in NZ. Still know the words to several songs all owed to the excellent music programs we had in schools back then (particularly in NZ).
Really nice video. Ive loved this song, both the Spanish and English versions, since I first heard it 45 yrs ago. Id say I prefer the English version slightly more, as its more easily relatable,,.
True, songs lyrics can't be translated literally from one language to another, especially if the languages are quite different to each other, they always go in a different direction but still the English version is great too. Greetings from Mexico.
I think it is very difficult to adjust the entire lyrics of a song from a language to another one getting the same sense and rhyme in every verse. So, they surely decided to write a completely different version. It is also lovely, anyway

Beyond question, Juan Carlos Callderon composed one of the greatest songs ever written.
Mocedades and El Conscorcio were and still are some of the greatest artists of the 21st Century! Extraordinary human beings.
Oh my favourite ! Not only touch the wind but also my heart !!

This taken from the Vinyl Single UK release b side is English. Thank You for commenting.
This English version is not a translation. The Spanish lyrics are completely different and different meaning

This song with these words does not even approach the meaning, passion, or intent of Calderon.
yes, yes, and yes :)
First time I have heard this in English. I used to hear it in Spanish constantly in 1974 in Washington DC
❤
One of the greatest

Ok back in the 70’s there was a version on the radio that was part Spanish and English right? I can’t find it.
The translation is not the same in Spanish....

Sounds like the melody to the jesus song in your hands
This translation is NOTHING like the original. Why?

It is not a translation of the Spanish version. Mike Hawker wrote the English lyric. The Spanish Lyrics were written by Juan Carlos Calderon.
