All carmakers use plastic panel clips (also known as snap-in retainers.) Have a Toyota Hiace Van there were plastic clips holding hard board panels at the back of van.
Had to remove the hard board panel on the tailgate to get to the handle to free it up (IT HAD JAMMED UNABLE TO OPEN TAIL GATE.)
So made a clip removal tool to take these out using a modified dinner fork.
