  • A quick easy way on how to remove plastic clips from you car using something everyone has in the house. These auto fastener clips can be difficult to remove, especially without the right tools (amzn.to/3M1Ucm6). These clips can be found on nearly every make and model and hold your interior and exterior coverings in place. If you are attempting a quick repair and don't have an automotive pry tool kit, try a common kitchen fork!
Pry Tool Kit and extra retainer clips ▶ amzn.to/3M1Ucm6
If you are in need of a fastening clip but don’t have the correct tools available, take a fork and bend the inner prongs outward for an easy and quick diy auto clip pry tool. It's an effective and cheap way of removing these bumper, molding, and trim clips without much damage, allowing you to re-use them again and again.
Removing a car fastener clip can vary depending on the type of clip and the vehicle make and model. Here is a general process for removing a fastener clip:
    1. Locate the fastener clip. It may be located on the interior or exterior of the vehicle and can be found holding various parts in place, such as trim panels, door panels, and upholstery.
    2. Identify the type of clip. There are several types of fastener clips, such as push-type, twist-type, or Christmas tree clips. Each type requires a different approach for removal.
    3. Gather the necessary tools. Depending on the type of clip, you may need pliers, a flat-head screwdriver, a trim tool, or a special clip removal tool.
    4. Begin by carefully prying the clip out of its position using the appropriate tool. Be careful not to damage the surrounding area.
    5. If the clip is a push-type, you may need to use a flat-head screwdriver or a trim tool to gently pry it out.
    6. If the clip is a twist-type, you may need to use a pair of pliers to twist it back and forth until it releases.
    7. Some clips are Christmas tree clips, they have a center pin that needs to be pressed down to release the clip. In this case, you may need a special clip removal tool or a flat-head screwdriver.
    8. Once the clip is released, carefully remove it from the vehicle and dispose of it properly.
It's important to be gentle and careful when removing fastener clips, as they can be easily damaged or broken, which can make reinstallation difficult or impossible. If you are unsure about how to remove a particular clip, consult the vehicle's service manual or a professional mechanic for guidance.

I went to the local dollar store and got a cheapy set of 3 forks for a dollar - and this worked for me like a charm. Although the cheapy fork looks like a pretzel on a bad hair day by the time I got the 3rd clip removed. LoL. I APPRECIATE ya doing this video! You saved me some time and some money. 👍👍👍

How would they benefit to make it easy and affordable for the hardworking consumer who has/is paid/paying for an overpriced product to repair and/or maintain that product on their own without overriding every single part in the vehicle/product and making it very difficult to do it yourself without a special tool and knowledge.!! But thanks to you and many others with great advice, knowledge, and sometimes just an opinion on what helped for you...may go along way for others. THANKS

Manufacturers are penny pinchers and like making money by forcing customers to the car's dealers. Otherwise choose from a non-corporate mechanic who possibly hires ex- felons. I won't be too sad when electric cars take over.

    • @daviderhahon
      @daviderhahon 3 роки тому

      Lol.
I think they actually made them that way to prevent them from pulling it on their own. Durability.
Also, there are no edges so you don't accidentally pry them off while doing normal things like putting big stuff in the trunk.
