So good learning about these luxury regrets - some excellent tips on what to consider when making a big splurge! Agree about the La Mer foundation, it does make my skin look flawless. I hadn’t thought about how it gets better and better through the day, but it does! I do seem to go through it faster than any of my other foundations though I thought I wore it mostly only for special occasions but I’m near finishing my second bottle.

Thank you Marnie I think everyone has a story of purchase regrets expensive or not. I totally agree with the philosophy of keeping them because your right tastes change and eventually you will like or even love them again.
My husband has the Lexus ES 300H Ultra Luxury (sedan) and he loves it! He’s had it a full year and he said if he had to go back, he would absolutely buy it again! I have the Lexus GX 460 Luxury (had it six years and not a hybrid….they don’t make them in hybrid yet) and I love it! Yes, it’s big but I own a show horse and it tows a horse trailer so it fits all my needs. The only draw back is it’s a gas guzzler. If and when the GX comes in a hybrid, I will be first in line to purchase it!
As someone with shoulder and neck pain, crossbodies can't work for everyone. Although I usually carry my bag in hand, I do occasionally have it in the crook of my arm. I still buy purses with a crossbody strap when I absolutely need to be hands free for a few minutes, like carrying multiple grocery bags in from the car. But usually if I'm shopping, the bag ends up in the crook of my arm.
I agree there are sound reasons for carrying your bag in the crook of your arm-but we both know that the people I'm referencing have perfectly fine shoulders and necks. ;)
These are my favorite videos, very helpful!! You are so right about the LV Speedy, both of mine sit on the shelf rarely used. I live in the Neverfull's, more often than I want to. They are so boring, yet so practical for everyday. Thanks for sharing some beautiful new bags. The Mulberry was my favorite that I haven't tried yet. I love that it's leather with no branding, but so beautiful. We've had the Lexus RX 350L for two years now and couldn't be happier. Two of our three kids are grown, but everything fits great - from shopping to our Yellow Lab. One thing that sets it apart is the service. They offer free loaner cars when you get service, which is helpful. They even cook you free breakfast while you wait. Also, they wash and vacuum it every time we are in for service. As a busy mom, I love that! At times I wish we would have looked at the Hybrid model. But I have a hard time believing electric vehicles really help the environment, honestly. I'm not sure our grids can handle it, and it seems to transfer one problem for another. Your Tesla story confirmed most of my hesitations about EV cars. Thanks for sharing!
I am so with you on buying a crossbody bag. This is all I use! And I just don't understand people recommending draping a jacket or coat over your shoulders?? Yes I agree! Unless you're modeling it down the runway, people just don't walk around like that!!
I know this is an older post but I just found your channel recently. I love love love my Toyota Highlander Platinum Hybrid. Second Highlander but first one at the highest trim level and hybrid. After doing months of research into Lexus, BMW, Volvo, Mercedes... ALL the luxury brands, I feel like it has the most space, best upgrades, and value for the money.
I’ve never bought a luxury brand - yet. This was very helpful, I appreciate your insight. We all tend to think that if we buy just the right thing it will bring some value to our lives. There’s a lot of food for thought here. Thank you🤗

I love this video. Marnie has spared me the disappoint with some products and pointed me to some of my favorite luxury. I am fortunate to be able to purchase luxury goods but do not have a bottomless wallet . When I splurge on me after being a single mom putting to sons thru college, I want it to be a good purchase. Marni has never let me down.
I love the pink bag! The color is such a pretty light pink! This was a fun video. I regret buying my signed leather Stickley couch and chair. Thirty years ago the couch was ten thousand dollars. I just have never thought they were comfortable and I’m not into the style anymore. I don’t want to get rid of them but I never sit in them. Luckily they are in an upstairs family room we don’t use that much!
I’ve had many different models of lux cars but when I got my first Cadi, I was sold. My daughter has the sedan, my son got his wife the small SUV (gas). We’ve traveled across the states, did Route 66 in the suv. It was a comfortable ride, the engine is powerful and unparalleled to any other car I’ve owned. We went through all types of weather and conditions with all that I’m a Cadi girl.
Before I bought my NX300; I had a Lexus 250hs, a hybrid sedan. I loved it. Drove it about a quarter of a million miles! They didn’t make them anymore, so I sought the hybrid NX model but none were available at the time. I absolutely adore the NX. Next time, hope to get the hybrid version.
When you talked about the blazer on the shoulder.. I cracked up laughing... I always wonder where people are going when they have their blazer draped over their shoulder
I have a NX hybrid. I bought it new in 2014. I love it! I will replace it with another one. Perfect size and never have any problems except one. Sometimes the rear hatch will get stuck. But I don’t have a dealership near me so I have just lived with it.
As for automobiles, I was just at the Audi dealership looking at the Q5 eTron and am very tempted to switch over. My current Audi Q5 is only 4 yrs old, but with having to purchase premium gas, going to a hybrid sounds very enticing! I haul two medium sized dogs around and the Q5 has ample room.
Give the Tory Burch another try…it’s beautiful, large enough to carry essentials and a few items you pick up along the way (like husband’s sunglasses occasionally) and the magnetic outside pocket for the giant iPhone …I agree with you on the heels….sell the Louboutins while there is a market for them and do your feet a favor…those shoes are for seated events when you don’t need to walk very far to the venue.
I have been following you for years and love all your content. But, this video is AMAZING! I loved it, maybe you can make it a series, or do the opposite, things you went budget on but wish you splurged on? You always have awesome content and relatable for the everyday mom, thanks! 💕
Use candle wax on the stiff zipper. It works like magic! Nice video! You should stuff your handbags to keep their shape better. I usually use plastic air bubbles.
We own a Toyota Prius Hybrid and love that we only buy gas about four times a year (retired). But, we do miss the luxury of our previous Lexus that lasted for 17 years, so we also plan on buying a Lexus hybrid next year.
I started my obsessive collection of Dooney & Bourke Florentine Satchels after my Mom Passed 6 years ago. They are, IMPO, The Most Gorgeous Timeless Handbag of all time! BUT... They don't have outside pockets & they are HEAVY to carry! Not to mention, You have to stay on top of Spaying Apple Guard on them, because, the Florentine Leather can get stained with water spots. It's one of those "fair weather" bags- but, a little bulky for summer. They have a strap, but it's to thin for the size of the bag. I use those web straps that you suggest. They all sit beautifully on display in my wardrobe, but I rarely use any of them. I consider them an Investment (time will tell how that unfolds). I drive a 2016 Kia Sorento SXL. It's Paid off & I LOVE IT! My husband tells me all the time that I can get a new car & when we go look, Nothing beats what I already have! 😘
I have an NX (not hybrid) and I love it. Definitely room for a large dog in the back but not in a crate. My regret is also a classic speedy 30. It took that bag to teach me that I’m not handheld/crook of the elbow kind of girl.
I’m a crossbody girl too. Loved your ‘telling it like it is’ and showing what you would buy if you could do it all over. I have the Lexus NX F-sport (not the hybrid) and I love it! Will probably get the hybrid next time. Will look forward to your getting one and telling us how you like it.❤️
I totally agree on the La Mer foundation and Cle de Peau concealer- you are so spot on. Thanks for saving me from the La Prarie foundation - it's been on my wish list and I will save the money thanks to you! Love your videos:)
I never wear any of the three pairs of Louboutins I own either! I love the "medieval torture devices" characterization! I am definitely over "luxury" shoes and will never waste my money like that again. I am looking at plug-in hybrids for my next vehicle and the BMW X series is currently top of list (need room for two large-dog crates).
My regret regarding furniture was this white sofa we purchased for the living room......you know, the room that never gets used by anyone but the dog. What was I thinking with small kids. Years later we finally donated it and got a much nicer neutral sofa, still only used by the dog but much nicer to look at!
Hi Marnie, coach is a good brand. Their handbags never seem to wear out. We all have some regrets when we purchase luxury items and it was good to hear yours so I won't add to mine. Thanks so much for a fun, helpful video. Have a wonderful week! Xoxo Karen
I love your sensibilities and criteria.. I don’t like to compromise on appearance, quality or functionality regardless of what the luxury brand name is. Fashion has to fit into my life.. not the other way around. The only thing I beg to differ on, is that I love me a top handle bag…though it better have a an easy to access pocket. 👜😊👛
I've always loved cars and it's an enthusiasm my 20 yer old son and I can share. For practical reasons, I've driven mid-sized SUVs for quite a long time, Lexus, Volvo, Audi, BMW. Two clear faves - BMW and Volvo. Not a Tesla fan either, but I have to say the first all-electric to truly tempt me is the upcoming '23 BMW iX. Perhaps a tad too big for me as an empty-nester in L.A. My mom just decided on the nicely sized all-electric Volvo XC40 which has a great vibe. And I agree, the new Genesis GV60 is worth a closer look too. Doug DeMuro's reviews are always useful. Have fun deciding!
Some of the comments on here are just plain rude and I doubt you would say them to Marnie's face in person! Think before you type, common courtesy, we all don't live the same lifestyle stop judging others with more than you.
The Coach mini camera bags fit my iPhone in the outer pocket. They come in multiple colors and styles. I wear them for work to keep my pens and phone on me but out of the way.
Love the TB bag but can’t believe there is no zipper closure. My similar Amazon find one has a zipper and I love it. I once bought a piece of art from my favorite artist, while I love the piece I’ve had difficulty getting over how much I paid for it.
The bag I would love as I cannot wear shoulder bags and crossbody bags tend to hurt me as well. I developed shoulder problems from heavy bags, using my computer mouse, etc., so I have to carry my bags in the crook of my elbow or by the straps. Hopefully you will never experience the pain of shoulder rotator cuff wear. I'm 58 and started experiencing problems around 54 or 55. Growing old is not for the weak! LOL I did buy a very nice soft leather backpack yesterday which I intend to give a try to see if that helps because I also love the "hands free" approach. As always, I love watching your videos!
I love my 2012 Fiat 500c (convertible) with stick shift. She's got 118K miles and is fun to drive. Hope to keep her for many more years and then move to hybrid, as long as it's convertible. 😊
Zomg! I got super excited when you said its cringey for women to walk around with blazer draped over their shoulders. You are the first youtuber i watched that addressed this!
My luxury regret was my YSL tote, that thing is huge! I didn’t think of my lifestyle either when I purchased it, I’ve since sold it. I love my Speedy 30 although I have the bandolier style but sometimes I just hold it by the handles. They have very reasonably priced purse organizers on Amazon, may get more use out of yours. It just doesn’t seem right to leave a Speedy (my favorite) on a shelf.
Should have gotten the LV Speedy bandolier. Good news with price increases you could get all your money back if you sold it. Stick a shoulder strap on the handles. I love everything I own from Mulberry and they have seasonal sales
wow… some ppl need to take a chill pill in the comment section. This was a fun video 👌 YT also made me buy the speedy.. which I regret buying. dont have the patience for it
Right?! It makes me question THEIR judgement. I mean, the video and thumbnail are clearly labeled, they knew it was going to upset them, and they still chose to watch. Doesn't say a lot about their ability to make good choices for themselves. ;)
I’m not even half way through the video, but had to pause it to say “YES”!!!! Yes to the ridiculous top-handle bag wearers! Yes to the ridiculous blazer-shoulder drape. As always…great content!
Have you tried spraying your feet with lidocaine prior to wearing uncomfortable heels? I get mine OTC at the pharmacy. It won’t last all day but it does for a few hours. Spray on more than you think.
I want those Sarah Flint heels so badly. I never wear heels, but would love a nude pair for the off chance of when I would want to wear a pair. I think your Tory Burch pale pink purse is beautiful!
You should check out the Rebecca Minkoff Eddie satchel, but the smaller version. I bought one during the Nordstrom anniversary sale and am loving it. The back pocket fits my iPhone 13 pro max. The bag comes with the removable strap that can be worn over the shoulder as well as crossbody. It also comes with a short handle which makes it easy to grab.
Yes I bought the Rebecca Minkoff Edie Wallet on Chain bag during the Anniversary Sale. I can fit reading glasses, lipstick and other essentials in there as well as my phone in the back pocket.
I have a 2019 Lexus NX 300..I wanted a sporty suv...kids are grown so I dont need the Rx....I LOVE my car..it has a lot of bells and whistles and sunroof....its black with caramel leather and it matches my Tori Burch..lol. I am so glad someone else has luxury regrets....I have several too. The LV neverfull and Chanel Petite tote...sold on The real real and of course lost a ton...live and learn!
I love my Lexus RX 350 too- it is beautiful, comfortable and safe -we were in an accident where an suv landed on top of our car-totaled the car but no injuries to me, my husband or my 2 pups who were thannkfully in their crate! My husband replaced it with the exact model for this reason!! awaiting the new hybrid for my next car as well :)
I love the YSL bag - she’s such a cutie!!! And whoever designs these should definitely make sure a 13 pro max with a loopy case fits in the back pocket! How awesome would that be!
Great video! I find it refreshing when you just tell it like it is. I use the La prairie foundation , it works for me, but the LaMer does not, but the La mer skin concentrate serum is my go to. Go figure. Keep ‘‘em coming!
If you are looking for a sporty hybrid, definitely check out the BMW X5. My husband has a new one and "loves" it! I have an old diesel X5, which I love and can't part with. Meanwhile, even if you think the color pink of the Tory B bag is to light (I get the regret)? Just use it, and if it stains and falls apart, then you know it was never meant to be a standout purchase!! Even though you already know, you will have feelings of validation!!
Thanks for sharing your experience with your Tesla. They probably work great for city driving but I just do not trust 100% electric where I live. I agree hybrid is a better fit.
I bought the Sisley concealer and the coverage is just okay and never reach for it. Maybe sell some items and purchase what would work for your lifestyle.
Thanks for the tip on the Tesla- I was thinking of one. I wish I could wear pumps, but I have a bone spur in my foot so none of my shoes fit.... Yes I could have surgery but I'm on my feet too much. It's wedges for me year round haha. I have the Acura RDX and it fits 2 labradors in the back!
Mulberry is one of the only luxury items I have ever splurged on. I have a wallet and a bag, both purchased more than 10 years ago, and still in perfect shape.
I can't get into La Prairie. There isn't enough of a color range (and I am vampire pale), so every time I try on one of their their foundations, I look ridiculous. I have the LV Speedy Bandolier in the Damier Azure. I like it, but reach for my double zip pochette or my pochette accessoires (both of which hold just the essentials and suit my lifestyle) much, much more often. The issue with the Speedy being a bit cavernous is real, but I think it has its uses.
I had a 2017 Rav4 Hybrid and gave that to my kid when he went to college. Reolaced it with a 2021 Rav4 Hybrid. I LOVE IT. Oh, and prior to the 2017 Rav4 I had a 2014 Toyota Avalon Hybrid. None of those quite as lux as a Lexus 😅, but nice cars and I am a total hybrid fan. I don’t ever see me not having a hybrid! 🚙 💨
You should put tissue paper in them so they keep their shape. Although it does take up more room. And if they come in the bag, use it. They can still get dusty but no where near as bad. 😊
Awesome video. I really liked the foundation and concealer review. I now want to try the La Mer Soft Fluid Long Wear Foundation and Concealer. I also purchased a luxury veichle that I regret. I have the 2018 Range Rover Velar, prior to that I was in a Lexus RX for 12 years and loved it. I also plan on getting the Lexus again but in the RX 450 h version in 2023. Also, on a side note, can you share your hair color routine. Do you color your hair a brunette shade then full highlight? I really think the combination is pretty. Love all your videos xoxo
I regret buying a Louis Vuitton bag with piping along the outer edges because over time this cracks and is very expensive to replace (I know because I did it) and then it doesn’t match the other leather pieces until it has some wear. Also, the canvas on Louis Vuitton cracks at pressure points and I was told there is no way to fix this by an LV representative. Moving on to another luxury brand next time. Recommendations??
Girl I decided to get louboutins for my bday one year and my hubs jumped in and offered to get them for me. I researched for months, found them and went to try them on. I literally couldn’t take more than a few steps without excruciating pain, and I’m a heels girl. So in the store they stayed.
Great video☀️! I bought a beautiful burgundy Burberry satchel about 10 years ago. It’s too big. It does have a crossbody strap, but it’s too awkward to carry that way. I’m going to sell it. Also, your makeup regrets are interesting too. I’ve gotten sucked into buying expensive makeup because I can afford it. But, sometimes it’s not worth it. PS. I hope you’re ignoring the rude comments.
@@MsGoldgirl You dropped the mic! 🎤 In case you don’t know what that means, it’s slang for “you shut it down and nothing else needs to be said” (nothing that matters). You go Marnie!
I wonder if I would regret Roselinlin or would I love it. Cute items and great prices but are sizes true and is it quality. Marnie will you check it out please?
Oh, Girl, I can't believe you own a dark car in Texas!!!! I had one navy blue car in my early 30s, but red is as dark as I will ever go. I know, that has nothing to do with luxury, but I lived in San Antonio years ago and it is crazy hot in the summer. Just saying.
I am the same with the LV speedy. I love Lexus and plan to get one in the future. I thought about the Tesla but I don’t like the idea of long distance travel out there.
Your Tesla story changed my mind - I thought that would be our next car and now I’m out. I don’t have too many luxury regrets but I did buy a Telfar bag thinking I would use it as my work tote and I just don’t like it. I wanted to support a black-owned brand and I love the story behind the designer, but the bag was not worth $200 for me. The shoulder strap is way too long and the material does not feel right. I have added it to my consignment box. I’m sure someone will love it soon. Great video!
Traditional speedy bags ( before bandoliers) are not user friendly in any way, shape or form!! Those bags are strictly status bags!! If you bought a speedy to be functional you definitely are not a true luxury handbag 👜 lover!! The DA print is very beautiful tho!! You should clean yours up a bit or take it to the LV store in Dallas and have them clean up and maybe get hooks to put shoulder strap . I think that size speedy is best worn w a great pair of jeans w white blouse or great sweater and a edgy pair of shoes/ boots… that just ups that look w a speedy in your hand!! At least you know it will never go out of style!!!
Some of those luxury bags are beautiful! The little Louis Vuitton one was so pretty, and so was the Tory Burch purse. The heals, yikes! Just seeing them screams pain, and I’m not talking about the price point. I recently purchased a Louis Vuitton dupe that to the untrained eye probably looked like the real thing. I couldn’t even bring myself to wear it, so I gave it to my stepson’s grandmother and she loves it. I guess I wouldn’t make a good influencer.
I hav also hung on to stuff I disliked, and later found it became a favorite. Needs change. So if it's function that's the problem, it might become just the ticket down the road. And also, resale value is not great foe some of these, and I didn't pay much to begin with…
hahahaha you crack me up, "put on the jacket, put your arms through it." I agree!!

Thanks for going into depth on your experience with the Tesla Model Y. I got mine this past February and am prepared for if/when this happens to me.
Knowing about the possibilities definitely helps! Hoping you won’t have firsthand knowledge!
👜😊👛
Describing the shoes as Medieval Torture devices is so relatable. All my shoes are 😂
I've always loved cars and it's an enthusiasm my 20 yer old son and I can share.
Hi, Marnie! Great video- thanks for sharing! Saint Laurent now has their full-sized camera bag with an exterior pocket. It’s fantastic!
I just bought a YSL Baby Niki on my last trip and it was perfect for my essentials. No zip top, but a great bag.
I totally regret my Dyson Airwrap. Especially since I waited a year before buying it, and now they came out with a new and improved version.
Some of the comments on here are just plain rude and I doubt you would say them to Marnie's face in person! Think before you type, common courtesy, we all don't live the same lifestyle stop judging others with more than you.
Agree
The Coach mini camera bags fit my iPhone in the outer pocket. They come in multiple colors and styles. I wear them for work to keep my pens and phone on me but out of the way.
I need to take a look at those!! I know they’re really popular.
I love mine! I also have the Tory Burch in deep pink and the size is perfect.
LOL
I did buy a very nice soft leather backpack yesterday which I intend to give a try to see if that helps because I also love the "hands free" approach.
As always, I love watching your videos!
The Lexus NX hybrid is what we have, and I love it. It's small for an overpacker as far as trunk space, but other than that, great car.
I love my 2012 Fiat 500c (convertible) with stick shift. She's got 118K miles and is fun to drive. Hope to keep her for many more years and then move to hybrid, as long as it's convertible. 😊
Love this video!! such a great idea and very helpful information!! Thanks!
Zomg! I got super excited when you said its cringey for women to walk around with blazer draped over their shoulders. You are the first youtuber i watched that addressed this!
This needed to be said.
I know...she's a classic though.
Should have gotten the LV Speedy bandolier. Good news with price increases you could get all your money back if you sold it. Stick a shoulder strap on the handles. I love everything I own from Mulberry and they have seasonal sales
I like you can detach the short handle.
Love hearing about your purchases and what you don’t like about them or would change.
wow… some ppl need to take a chill pill in the comment section. This was a fun video 👌 YT also made me buy the speedy.. which I regret buying. dont have the patience for it
Right?! It makes me question THEIR judgement. I mean, the video and thumbnail are clearly labeled, they knew it was going to upset them, and they still chose to watch. Doesn't say a lot about their ability to make good choices for themselves. ;)
Amen, or could we just phrase our comments more kindly?
I’m not even half way through the video, but had to pause it to say “YES”!!!!
Yes to the ridiculous top-handle bag wearers!
Yes to the ridiculous blazer-shoulder drape.
As always…great content!
Thanks Chrissie!
Why so judgmental? I love and wear most of handbags by the crook of my arm.
Love, love, love my Lexus RX 350. Will get it in hybrid from next time.
I wish they did, but it's hard to design for something that doesn't exist yet-and will likely change again!
I love Coach bags for daily carry. I love their 1941 bags. Timeless style and gorgeous leathers.
They are great bags!
Great video! I find it refreshing when you just tell it like it is. I use the La prairie foundation , it works for me, but the LaMer does not, but the La mer skin concentrate serum is my go to. Go figure. Keep ‘‘em coming!
I love that! What works for some doesn’t always work for others. That’s why it’s nice to have options!
LOVED this video, thanks for the information, been debating on a few of these items and this was most helpful. Always enjoy your content.
Glad it was helpful!
I love la prarie foundation. The best foundation I have ever worn.i always get compliments about my skin
The same.The best!
I love the YSL college bag! Has a large back pocket , top handle and long shoulder strap :)
I shall look at it!!
OMG! Thank you. I'm really interested in your Tesla experience.
Mulberry is one of the only luxury items I have ever splurged on. I have a wallet and a bag, both purchased more than 10 years ago, and still in perfect shape.
You are the person I always bring up when my husband talks about getting a Tesla...
I LOVE my LV bandolier 30 print in brown, but would not mind a larger opening
Love your channel!
Very helpful, and you are SO Pretty!
Thank you so much!
I love my black on black YSL mini lou. I would definitely recommend!
How do you store your bags? I’m trying to make the best use of the shelves in my closet and need ideas for bag and for hat storage. Thanks!
You should put tissue paper in them so they keep their shape. Although it does take up more room. And if they come in the bag, use it. They can still get dusty but no where near as bad. 😊
@@juliebrown3003 Do you suggest hanging them?
Also the Marnie satchel in the hot pink is on major sale right now at GiGiNY. I think $255 🤯🤯
Hey Janet-I just get full highlights-no other color.
Totally agree about Louboutins! (Don’t tell Anthony!)
🤣
Definitely Lexus RX. Owned them for years. More reliable than any ex husband.
Ended up getting the Lexus RX550h last month and I LOVE it!
@@MsGoldgirl Lexus NX 200t. Smaller, but still a great car!
My sister has the Lexus and travels with her Lab and her Belgian Malinois, both in crates.
What rude comments? 😉
@@MsGoldgirl You dropped the mic! 🎤 In case you don’t know what that means, it’s slang for “you shut it down and nothing else needs to be said” (nothing that matters). You go Marnie!
"Put your arms in it" love :)
I have the same Louboutins (in the same colour). They are a gorgeous shoe, but so painful that I’ve never been able to wear them.
Really interesting video. I really like the final purse. Thanks!
I'm waiting for my third Lexus NX and love them,
I hav also hung on to stuff I disliked, and later found it became a favorite. Needs change. So if it's function that's the problem, it might become just the ticket down the road. And also, resale value is not great foe some of these, and I didn't pay much to begin with…
