Kinda reminds me of the start of the Arkham City game. Where you, as Bruce Wayne, get put into the city and then have to fight off Penguin and his goons. All without your suit, while handcuffed. Or in the comics where he was buried alive in his parents coffin. And then had to dig himself out before he died. He never needed the suit, it just helps him and also allows him to protect his identity.
I can remember a few episodes of the Animated Series where Bruce was caught without his Batsuit, so he has to use his skills to escape but also maintain his secret. He is fully capable of beating the villain but he holds back so he does not reveal his identity. His supersuit does not give him his power, it unleashes it.
@@Seraph68 There was an episode called The Forgotten where Bruce was investigating homeless people going missing where he was knocked out by henchmen working for a fat gangster who kidnapped homeless people off the street and made them dig for gold ore down a mine. Bruce loses his memory for a bit an after befriending 2 of the homeless guys he regains his memory and as Batman he catches the gangster and frees all the homeless people.
Batman is Batman because he trained his body and mind for decades. The most insulting thing about this show is that these people can simply put on the suit and have all his skills.
When I was a kid I had a replica Batman utility belt modeled after the one Adam West wore in everyone's favorite campy superhero show. If I had only known then, what I know now ...

Look, being black or a minority isn’t a character trait. And being homosexual or bisexual or whatever-sexual, certainly is not a personality point. How about writing a well fleshed out character and see what happens.
But how would we know if they are into dick or pussy? See how your point TOTALLY unravels when you think about it for even a second????? how am i supposed to enjoy a TV show if i don't even know if the protagonist likes tiddies off screen or not?? And being a minority isn't a character trait. its a character arc, character development AND the entire storyline all in one!!
Still without this worthless crap the studios are putting out there would be no material for the comedic gold the Drinker puts out. Every hero needs a villain.

Notice that she says "It's time to be powerful" and not "It's time to help people." She's focused on her own ego, not the safety and wellbeing of the citizens. This is a gross misunderstanding of what a hero is. In case that wasn't telling enough, they have her lecture about how she deserves the hero role because of her hard life, and not because she's the best for the job.
Not to defend the show, but you realize that her using the suit for herself was something they displayed as being wrong? She realized that the suit isn't only for her at the end.
@@heyyou9472 It's done with almost everyone to be honest, but this complaint about CW not understanding what a hero is is just wrong. Feels like they're looking for reasons.
They're treating the suit like it's a green lantern ring, that the suit gives them powers. If anything the suit makes it harder to fight, it just protects you. It's bulky armour. Maybe they thought they were writing for a lesbian version of the Power Rangers?
Yeha well sjws are all obsessed with what on the outside, not the inside. So its not a quantum leap for them to write a show where power comes from some stupid outter layer rather than true inner strength and character.
@@Iron-Blurr I also love the Drinker's "Excalibur" analogy in which the suit just seems to drift around from actress to actress until it finds someone who's "worthy".
It's funny because shows and movies are often referred to as "vehicles" for a particular actor's career path, and the CW shows themselves end up being shitmobiles that drive someone's career into ruins.
The new shows are lacking, but series like supernatural were bad ass! Problem is CW doesn’t have a good budget to make anything really great. We have to give them credit for bringing in the DC crisis of the multiverse. Problem is they don’t know where to go from there and now WB want to take it from here..... probably for the best.
They act like the bat suit is just an invincibility costume, when in reality Batman was a clever intelligent guy who made all his own gadgets and was a great detective, AND worked out, trained hard, got buff, and the suit was in most instances just a costume, not armor let alone invincibility. He took a beating, he got injured, and he was badass. This shit is cheap and lame and does no service to anyone. It just looks silly!
But muh easy empowerment! I do't 'HATE' when the batsuit has armour woven into it like kevlar plating. It makes Batman's survival rate vs a hail of gunfire a little easier to accept. But the CW is clearly trying to turn it into Ironman armour in order to elevate complete nobodies who haven't put the work into being Batman. Also... Kryptonite bullet? Wtf? Kryptonite isn't particularly dense or sharp.... Is the Batsuit woven out of Superman's body hair...? (Which isn't a terrible idea tbh... I don't hate that xD The idea of Superman keeping all his hair and beard clippings and regularly shaving his pecs for his best friend to sew into a suit is the kind of adorable levity and friendship Supes and Batman are supposed to have)
you know what? im rew-atching batman: the animated series, and despite the rushed tramas is a reallly amazing show that knows how to put bruce in a pickle in a credible manner, it feels (rushed, YET) organic how trouble appears to him and hes forced to analyze and overcome the situation: from mind controlling villains bullying him trough his personal demons to the jocker wacky yet elaborated plans. indeed, this looks like the W.O.R.S.T of an 80's PC show... but with lesbians... HOW THE FUCK U MANAGE TO MAKE LESBIANS MAKING OUT UNNAPEALING IS BEYOND MY UNDERSTANDING, but here we areeeee, here we areeeee
I haven't watched the series.....and I won't, tbh I haven't watched a series since Gotham. But do they at least flesh out Barbara as girl trying to meet the high expectations and standards of the hero she emulates (batman) and have her figure out who she is and what kind of hero she will be now that she's solo?
Actually I would mind a show like that.. about a little girl who finds a cheap superhero custom there makes her feel powerful in a world of distrust.. it’s would be better then this idiotic circus..

“A show so relentlessly, comically woke that it was guaranteed to repel anyone who don’t dye their hair purple and weigh less than a metric ton.” This needs to be the show’s tag line.
No. You're all incorrect. It simply means "anti". With all their circular and contradictory logic, they have no other function than to hate everything.
I've always thought "woke" meant "being needlessly arrogant about accepting people different from yourself, while still reducing them to caricatures of human beings".
I can't blame Ruby Rose for abandoning ship after the first season. If you were nearly paralyzed for a role, and this was the result, you'd run away as fast as your thankfully still functioning legs could carry you.
Batwoman writers: Ryan is an ex-convict trying to make a positive change in her life Also batwoman writers: Nah she's black we can't have her going to prison. We'll say she was wrongly accused

The fucking bullet could have been made out of tampons and it could have worked the same.
Before the show existed, I saw the poster for Batwoman on a bus that was passing by and told my sister it was gonna to be trash. She didn't believe me and look what happened.
Bruce Wayne spent years and years training with master martial artists and ninjas. Studied technology, chemistry, psychology and tactics. Worked out to become the peak of human physical condition. Became the greatest detective in the world. All to prepare himself to become Batman. Some girl finds a batsuit and automatically becomes "Batwoman" throwing batarangs and jumping on buildings and knocking out guys twice her size... The audacity of CW
Well we all know they miss the point of the source material, that's what makes it hilarious. Batman, and the whole bat family, are detectives. The whole point is that they solve crimes, kicking asses is just comes with that territory. They can attribute physical prowess to "it's the suit" all they want, but there's no way to just gift this character with those Sherlock Holmes-level observational and investigative skills, which is the core of what the Bat franchise is all about.
Man think about what a wasted oppertunity that was, she could have been weak to start with and completly reliant on the gadgets and then slowly over the season start becoming more poficient, it would have provided good character advancment as well as showing how diffrent the new Batwoman is from the old one (could have also had some more intresting choreography).

@@D4NIELXOXO The problem is that they make such a big deal about it, as if to say “look at me, I’m woke for having a gay character.” Batwoman was a lesbian in the comics, and in the show, in both cases removed from the military because of that fact. It matters for her character. But the show keeps needing to show off how woke it is even beyond that, despite the fact that they’re just adapting someone else’s work.
When will these “writers” finally understand that sexual orientation, race and gender are NOT character traits? A shit character is not redeemed by the fact that they check some diversity boxes.
Garrus1995 I personally feel sorry for the representation of the LGBT community, as I know tons of gay people who’s least interesting trait is being gay, yet that is the only thing most people get in movies. The characteristic of being gay.
The stupid thing is they gave explanation as to how Batwoman is so physically able, but this new girl doesn’t have any backstory as to how she’s able to move around so well. Not every criminal is capable of great physician feat, the shitty comic at least made her a veteran, AMD Batman went through training before being able to fight well.
She’s pretty impoverished in the USA. By US standards, poverty often means having all that plus an apartment with all the basic appliances, a car, smartphone, one or more movie streaming accounts, a laptop, and at least one dog.
It is quite fitting that the characters of this show make such a big deal about the bat suit. The real Batman didn't place that much importance in the suit because he *made* it and to him it was simply one of the many tools in his arsenal. It was Bruce Wayne that made the bat suit special. But these clowns can't ever hope to do the same, so they hope that using Batman's suit will make them special.

Man, they're not even hiding the fact that these diversity hire characters don't actually have to work for anything. The bat-suit literally just fell out of the sky for her!
Someone brought up an interesting point: if the show writers wanted to make this character so strong and diverse, why did they write her as an ex convict living out of an RV by a river and not as a successful career woman or multi millionaire?

I never understood the whole “Forcing a minority into a main “powerful” role, just to represent a minority” thing. I mean, if I were a minority, that would actually offend me and make me feel patronised.
Many of us do feel patronized and speak on it often but we aren't the one's that get praised and heard. It's almost as if they want us to feel like victims.
@@DmanDice My theory is that putting minorities into lead roles is more about the white people feeling good about themselves than the minorities feeling good about themselves. Personally, the reason I kinda hate the representation thing is because it makes the minorities being represented seem, well, kinda bad. After so many disappointments whenever I see a show with a gay woman as a lead I groan and assume it will be bad, which is unfair. Before 2015 I would have been screaming "Take my money! I need this!" to a show about gay Batwoman. Now, honestly, I assumed it would suck before it was even released. That's how bad things have gotten.

same shit the did with Ray in the starwars saga. idk why people are so keen on forcing ''girl power'' down our throats then forget to actually write a good story. i will never understand these people
Haven't you heard? The suit is literally perfection when it fits a woman. Seriously though, it just bad writing. A 2 hours movie did a better job of establishing Batman, his motivation, training and experience than an entire season of TV show ever did. It just amazing.
I love that we just speed past the main character not thinking another person is worthy of care until she finds out she’s gay. It’s such a repulsive and vicious mindset to have, yet it’s just the way shit is today.

To quote one of my favorite lines from Blackadder Goes Forth, "If nothing else, a complete, stubborn, pig headed unwillingness to look facts in the face will see us through".
I think the CW also took this line a little too seriously: “Exactly! Doing the same thing we’ve done eighteen times before is last thing they’ll expect us to do this time!”
Whenever these characters (or the writers/fans that defend them) start speaking, I think of: "The eyes are open, the mouth moves, but Mr. Brain has long since departed."
So let me get this *straight* ... A random girl who committed crimes ( i assume looting or some other *trendy* stuff in the n'hood ) and is under a probation ( or whatever you call it in the US ) claims ( finders keepers like a true hobo ) the batsuit out of the wreckage and just starts using it. They used to not be, that’s the sad part. The first couple seasons of Arrow had not-as-obvious agenda pushing, as did The Flash, but then woke culture bullshit showed its head, CW picked up Supergirl with blatant politics-injecting every episode, and everything went downhill fast.

I guess it's now confirmed this show takes place in an alternate universe where Batman wasn't won over by Superman and him having mothers with the same name. Not wanting to waste a perfectly good Kryptonian he skinned Superman and turned him into a Batsuit.
I don't remember what the explanation was for Kate (or even if there was one) being on Bruce's level of martial arts mastery, but the writers actually did put in a throwaway line for Ryan. Critical Drinker didn't mention it, but during the scene where she was talking to the probation officer and was complaining about how she can't get a job because she's a convicted felon, the officer asks why Ryan doesn't become a trainer at the local dojo (implying that she's a martial arts expert). It still doesn't explain how Ryan was suddenly an expert at using all of the Batsuit's gadgets, but they at least did the bare minimum in establishing her as being good at hand-to-hand fighting before actually putting her in a fight.
hell, even Terry McGinnis trained, despite having a futuristic power armor suit with flight and stealth ability. It wasn't always enough, so he had to get good.

The Batsuit is armor not Tony Stark's Iron Man suit.
They turned a utility suit into a hi-tech exoskeleton
Even then, there were villains who stole his suit but were beaten in the end.
Even the Iron Man suit took time to learn to control. Was built up over time. This whole "I'm good and everything because vagina" is ridiculous. I pointed this out to my wife back when the new "Star Wars" came out, now she can't unsee it from everything lol.

Indeed. That line must be referring to her flatulence.
That line would be cringe in a womens leg razor commercial
Notice that she says "It's time to be powerful" and not "It's time to help people." She's focused on her own ego, not the safety and wellbeing of the citizens. This is a gross misunderstanding of what a hero is. In case that wasn't telling enough, they have her lecture about how she deserves the hero role because of her hard life, and not because she's the best for the job.
Did you expect something else from Leftists? It's a revealing Freudian slip. It's the power itself, not what you can do with it.
Not to defend the show, but you realize that her using the suit for herself was something they displayed as being wrong? She realized that the suit isn't only for her at the end.

I don't hate that xD The idea of Superman keeping all his hair and beard clippings and regularly shaving his pecs for his best friend to sew into a suit is the kind of adorable levity and friendship Supes and Batman are supposed to have)

you know your show is bad when the entire year of 2020 happened and the final thing to make Jesus break down into tears was your show...
Lazarus didn't kill himself.
This show did.
He wept, sobbed, tuned up Linkin Park, and slit his wrists my guy
Rule of thumb: whenever someone says they are powerful they are in fact extremely weak and making up for it by saying they are strong
Yep! Talk is cheap and easy.
Saying “I am the most powerful being in the universe” pretty much almost guarantees your own defeat.
Sun Tzu would be proud.

@@Eagle-eye-pie ...your comment seems to have fallen on deaf ears.
Wait, didn't batman train for years with the league of assassins to even be decent when he started out? And even then he was shit but got better after years of experience.
So how are these people just finding the suit, which is really just some padded aerobics costume, and suddenly knowing how to batman>???
When arrow began on the CW back in 2012 they spent at least 2-3 seasons, if not more showing his training
It's almost like the writers haven't ever read a Batman comic or something...huh.
And trained under several of the worlds greatest detectives and escaped artists. Also, he has like twelve degrees and speaks more languages than Colin Powell...
same shit the did with Ray in the starwars saga. idk why people are so keen on forcing ''girl power'' down our throats then forget to actually write a good story. i will never understand these people
Haven't you heard? The suit is literally perfection when it fits a woman.
Seriously though, it just bad writing. A 2 hours movie did a better job of establishing Batman, his motivation, training and experience than an entire season of TV show ever did. It just amazing.
I love that we just speed past the main character not thinking another person is worthy of care until she finds out she’s gay.
It’s such a repulsive and vicious mindset to have, yet it’s just the way shit is today.
Writer # 1: Okay, how do we get the Bat suit to the new character?”
Writer #2: “I’ve got it, we have it fall out of the sky on an airplane onto her!”
Writer #1: “That is.......the most brilliant thing I’ve ever heard! That has to go into our story.”
What a shocking comment! are you actually saying that they planned out the season in advance?
@@VampireNewl you might be giving them too much credit there mate

Not true at all, man you guys are real haters. I feel sorry for the comic world, so close minded bias racist and ignorant👑

I really appreciate the pain you are going through for making this videos
I love how this show’s theme is that the only way for a woman to become powerful is by putting on a powerful man’s outfit & then just have her try to do whatever he did

To quote one of my favorite lines from Blackadder Goes Forth, "If nothing else, a complete, stubborn, pig headed unwillingness to look facts in the face will see us through".
Now that’s a real show with amazing writing and actors..
Blackadder quotes always get a thumbs up
I think the CW also took this line a little too seriously: “Exactly! Doing the same thing we’ve done eighteen times before is last thing they’ll expect us to do this time!”
Whenever these characters (or the writers/fans that defend them) start speaking, I think of: "The eyes are open, the mouth moves, but Mr. Brain has long since departed."
You good Sir know excellence when you watch it.....There is hope for these trying times.....
Next thing we know she will be using *someone* else's resuorces to keep up her operation. Gonna put some 25 inch rims on that batmobile aren't you...
They should just went by Wallis Day replacing Rose as Kate early and continue how last season ended.
That wouldn't suprise me

More like shitting ghost peppers.
Either that or watching another UA-camr snort Cinnamon

Aka the least edgy thing possible, but these people don’t understand basic storytelling so I doubt they get the irony
You just described what I consider No Country For Old Men to be... except for the magnificent Javier Bardem of course.
They used to not be, that’s the sad part. The first couple seasons of Arrow had not-as-obvious agenda pushing, as did The Flash, but then woke culture bullshit showed its head, CW picked up Supergirl with blatant politics-injecting every episode, and everything went downhill fast.
Same could be said for CBS All Access and their fake Star Trek franchise... 😉 🖖

Any show or movie that tries to focus on being "politically correct" or "diverse" just to please the sjw's instead of focusing on just creating a good quality show is already trash in my book. Don't even need to watch it to find out
This show isnt a "battle" for anything except shameless, "identity" pandering.
Hey, it's a paycheck, and everyone has their resume out waiting for a real chance at a job.
I am sure the creative people are just as disgusted by this shit show as the viewers.
The expression "identity pandering" or "identity politics" doesn't cover what is happening any more. They are not pandering to these identities, they are overtly broadcasting on every level, and in every way a form of Tribal/Rescued Neolithic/Sexual Deviant supremacy. Its not 1973 when the median aged Klansmen was already in his 60s, Its not even the 1990-2004 era where pandering was a thing, we are in the modern era, the Jussie Smollett era, and these tribal/rescued neolithic/sexual deviants are the racist supremacists.
I guess it's now confirmed this show takes place in an alternate universe where Batman wasn't won over by Superman and him having mothers with the same name. Not wanting to waste a perfectly good Kryptonian he skinned Superman and turned him into a Batsuit.
A super leather suit.
Batman: trains for years and years to hone his mind and body to deal with any type of situation.
Woman puts on batsuit: "I cAn FIght NoW"
I don't remember what the explanation was for Kate (or even if there was one) being on Bruce's level of martial arts mastery, but the writers actually did put in a throwaway line for Ryan.
It's like if I put on shoulder pads and a helmet and said " I'm ready for the NFL!" 😎🤔😄
