Hey Same - Just re-entering the world after just about finishing the Documentary. I basically used two Godox SL-60's for the entire shoot. I used one with a soft box for all the face light and the other with the reflector for all the hair / back light. They were brilliant and I didn't have to worry about extension cables or blowing out the power sockets of the places I was filming. The extra long cables that come with the SL-60 meant I was never two far from an outlet. There is no fan noise at all on any of the over a hundred hours of footage I shot. I am so glad I decided to buy these right before I went out on the road. They also fit right into the travel box I bought for the trip. All the lighitng / stands / clamps etc in one box. I can see these two lights being my go to set up for video and stills for a long time.
I have the SL60w atm and I am fine with it! The main issue really is the fan noise as you already mentioned. The UL60 sounds good for an upgrade option
Both.... but would probably go with the UL if I had to choose one which will be the case when or if my Aputure 120 D s die .... got to love a bag you always find one !
I am thinking about the cheaper one just worried about that fan noise. It would be perfect if they just upgrade the fan. I don't need any extra features UL offers.
Honestly, if you set your microphone up properly, you don’t need to worry 🙏🏻 I had to boost it by 12dB and have it right in front for it to pick it up in the video. Thanks for watching 🙏🏻🎥
I went with the SL150II as I wanted light output similar to my aging westcott spiderlite TD6. Also your faces for your comparison shots still crack me up. You look like you hate them so much

SL-60W didn't get points for most of the advantages that you pointed out against the UL (remote size vs control size, reflector spread, colour accuracy, most of all in this price range: people weight pricing higher than a lot of other features)
Hi thanks Aaron. I did give the SL60w a point for the price at the beginning. The remote size is subjective since you can use the remote for the UL also. Colour accuracy is the same on the spec sheet but I pointed out the difference in the video. Thanks for watching 🙏🏻🤩🎥

I will choose the one the left side, it has much softer light, and the one on the right its great for back ground lighting
