Ive realized that he's rarely agressive towards shiv in the way he is to Roman and Kendall, to them he enforces power through direct insults and belittling, but with Shiv he knows she yearns validation in a different way, she wants to be in the boys room but doesn't want to admit it so goes like she's too much for them, Logan knows this and gives her just the right amount of compliments and validation to keep her around but doesn't directly insults her like he does to the boys, maybe because he treating her different makes her feel excluded, idk, i love the layers that this characters have, she's such a daddys girl and she wants to be so much more but without losing the benefits.
It's because Shiv has always been protected from the worst of Logan, he clearly pampers her relative to the boys. Even with the Dinosaur Cull comment, Roman got the worst of his wrath. I feel some sympathy, but Shiv is wants her cake and to eat it too - she's flagrantly cheating on Tom with a political aide who dug up dirt on Marcia, which is the whole reason Logan gets to twist her arm in the first place. Even then, he's not being half as cruel and coercive as he is to his other children on a daily basis.

Shiv isn't the smartest. She tries so hard to make a deal with Mattson only to be used. Logan is trying to teach her a lesson. But she won't listen, and now they're praying on her bc she never learned to play the game. And it's not her fault. Logan coddled her and never brought her in.
