- In todays video can the 6499 handle the Samasz butterfly mowers?! We go to meet Thomas in the Galway Plaza and pick up the mowers. Timmy gives us a run through on the mowers and then we get to go mowing! We got about 50 acres down on the ground.

You deserve every but of fortune you get Phil. Other UA-camrs do it all in a forced manner and doesn't come across well. Where as you, are very genuine and grateful to be lended the mowers. 1st time round just go round the corners
2nd time round square the corners off by backing round
3rd time round do a loop round in the corners with the mowers down to tidy up the bits you left on the 1st time round

Mighty outfit! You've just given Samaz machinery a serious leg up in the world of butterfly mower's! Before this they'd never been rated as highly as they are now! When you start to belt into singles the 99 might feel it abit with 2 extra oil motors needing powered! I think you should be seriously considering stepping up into something like this. Year's are slipping on and you can't keep at the hour's your doing! Especially with a woman like that!

I seen other videos where the farmer would leave one grouper down along the ditch or fence around the perimeter off field. Works well for the pick up so the harvester is away from the trees.

Great video Phil that’s the way forward technology is a great job it’s nearly all butterflies here in the east but I have to say the 99 looks absolutely brilliant on them by far the finest looking outfit I’ve seen

Great Video Phil loved the drone shots and music, nice touch 👌
CORNERS first time round the field, drive round, second pass, square the corners off, third time round, double back and mow the misses from the first round. If your opening the field anticlockwise, on the third round lift mowers steer right, drop your outside rear mower to cut the miss from 1st round. Hope that makes sense.
When using autosteer it can be easier to do 4 passes around the field, depending on how bumpy the field is, it gives the autosteer time to get on its line before hitting the grass. If its a bit tight and it decides to take a steering fit you can some times miss a wee bit. Great video 👌

Well Phil best way we find of th corners is go around them and wen th fields down use ur front mower and now th wee bit before ya fold it up

That is some bit of Kit, some progress from having to “throw out the back row” with a fork to let the finger bar mower cut the headland. But then that was progress from horse drawn mowers and scythes that cut an acre or so a day.

I run 10.4 m Kverneland groupers and the first 500 ha i stressed every run i missed with the autosteer,it looked too wide too mop up,but it worked out every time.
First time i used triples was amazing.

Straight into the corners and then to get it all use the back mowers on an angle 2-3times. Like a 3-4 point turn

When we mow with triples we pull the back ones closer together fore the headlands and just over lap a bit on the corners we find that the fastest way with some of our fields having 8 corners

Lovely outfit. I would just square of all corners and mow the missed bits on the windings at the end the opposite way than you first mowed it.
