I learned how to do my hair when I was locked up. I stayed locked down for fighting and during those times I couldn’t get my hair done. The last time I got locked down was my longest lockdown and I was looking crazy as hell so I just tried. Been doing my own hair ever since.

I think it’s bc there’s not ALOT of blk male natural hair yt channels. I feel like the question should be asked her as in why is this the “issue”. My little brother is growing his hair and doesn’t know how to do it. Even though there are plenty of natural hair vids on here where you can take the time to learn they’re mostly women. If there were more blk men, who’s platforms focused on doing and growing their hair instead of pointless or harmful content , a lot would be motivated to learn coming from another man. Here’s a few tips to help you grow and fall in love with your hair.
1. If you participate in smoking or intaking weed, DO YOUR HAIR WHILE HIGH!!! It’s like figuring your hair out and mazing through all it’s uniqueness and untangling will feel less like a chore. It’ll help you to be more patient, in tuned, and grow to love the story of your 4 type hair.
2. Watch some tv while doing it if you already have a feel for your hair and don’t need to be in the mirror. You’ll be entertained while doing your styles.
3. Take as many breaks as needed but always re moisturize your hair.
4. LOVE yourself and your growth every single day!! Focus on the health of your hair not how “neat” or long it is. 4 type hair is supposed to be fun and outgoing.
Y’all might think I’m over exaggerating about 4 type hair but try it and see how spending time with literally changes you!! God bless and stay healthy❤️
