I can tell I'm dehydrated when I wake up feeling hungover. (I don't drink alcohol.) Yesterday I had double my usual intake of caffeine and only about 16 oz of water. Feeling it today.
Water bothers my throat. Always has. Hydrates my body of course, but irritates in a way that makes me feel like I've just stripped away all the moisture from the surface of my throat, and leaves a mild burning sensation as if water was slightly caustic or I was drinking a mild solvent. Some are definitely worse than others, but generally all sources of water do this, and while tolerable and I can clearly distinguish taste from the less desirable effects, it's rare that drinking water is welcome. A few exceptions exist where certain locations have had really pleasant tap water that have not given me issue. Some other foods bother my throat too, notably milk chocolate. Lol, it actually tastes pretty good (as it does for most people), to the point that I dismiss the after effects, but it feels like I'm burning the calories right there in my throat before they even hit my stomach - as if it was spicy in my throat, but not on my pallete. Lol, help me Bob & Brad! :)

I don't think that's true. Thirst is the way our bodies signal us to have a drink in order to NOT get dehydrated. Just feeling thirsty doesn't equal automatic dehydration lol
I have a two litre water bottle which is the amount of water everyone should drink in 24 hours. I fill it at the start of the day, I pour a mug of water into both the kettle and coffee maker when I use those, I take a 750 ml chilly's bottle of water with me when the weather is hotter, also, when we have a Brittish summer, which we're certainly not, getting just now. I could do with one of those sleepovation mattresses. I have a geltech mattress which came with my Hypnos bed which I bought 3 years ago. I've had a bad back recently since I've also had a bone anchor hearing aid fitted last year, so I changed to sleeping on my back or in a fetal position on my left side. I ache all over when I get up in the mornings. Anything softer than my current mattress makes things worse, so I'm thinking my current mattress is the cause of my aches and pains.
Everyone? No. Not everyone. Did you watch the video? There are loads of other factors here. A 100 pound person in a cool climate who gets lots of H2O from food does not need to drink 2 liters.
Never the less, 2 litres of water is the recommended quantity of water you should be drinking per day. I know I don't drink anywhere near that much. My body doesn't send out messages from the brain telling me I'm thirsty and should be having another drink. I probably drink just under a litre of fluids per day.
There is no evidens suggesting this? Drinking according to thirst seemes to work just fine. The assumption that normal/healthy people are walking around with a imbalance is too common... the body homeostasis will regulate this basic fysiological balance! People please dont worry!
How much water you need to drink daily is a very individual thing and is depended on many factors. My biggest concern is that Bob & Brad are drinking from plastic bottles, not exactly conducive to good health.
