The adapter is a good option to have in a car camping kit, but really if you're carrying 1lb propane camp gas, space is not a big issue. If so the can top burners or hose burners for the 1lb bottles are far superior to the pocket rockets....which are little blow torches primarily for boiling water. They are very tricky for cooking or even heating hash or beans. Burning the center to red hot while the circle around it never heats.
I do carry the little stove with the short 250ml can to keep my coffee pot hot while I'm cooking food on the other burner.
I keep the pocket rocket for hiking and motorcycle camping. Then I want the smallest gas can I can find.
Is there an adaptor for butane canisters for both small stoves?

The adapter I bought won't work
thank you for the information, great video. but please invest in a camera stand .. or an assistant ..watching you try to do things one handed is a bit annoying.

Yikes. Put the adapter on the stove first with both hands and then screw on the propane canister. Safety first.
The adapter seals, just as the original can aperture does. The stove opens the valve, so you're relying on the stove being tightly off, vs using the adapter that is by default shut.
