Orchid diseases: Uh-Oh.... Brown spots!

The wonders of Bullshit never cease! So it turns out Charlatan (the blue dude) has a big of a fungal/viral infection on a couple of it's leaves.

I actually think that was a bacterial infection but I hope the orchid does well

Ligia You could be right. I checked in with the orchid and house plant groups I'm a member of, fungus seemed to be the main answer from people. I'm not actually sure what it was though, but really hope the orchid pulls through. I recently took the spike off as the flowers have dropped, but had to go quite low to make sure the injection site was gone. He's also dropping 3 lowers leaves 😕 so gonna try getting some calcium supplement and a new bag of seramis medium.

Hope it gets better. Please let us know. What orchid bark do you use, it looks bigger than mine and not so dusty.

Mary Smith I hope so too.....but I think I see the beginnings of terminal crown rot.... I'm not sure but gonna keep an eye on it and maybe make a little video about it's progression. If it is what I think it is in the place it is there is nothing I can do 😢....I really don't think this orchid is gonna make it. I use seramis orchid substrate mixed with hydro pebbles, I showed it in one of my earlier videos. But this orchid is still in the bark it came in, a standard bark and coconut husk mix.

How did this end up, hope it came good

It recovered and started regrowing a little bit, but had some set backs of leaves dying off and new roots shriveling. I gave it nutrients and some cal mag supplement.... But unfortunately I had to give up on it yesterday 😞 no matter what I tried the growth stalled, bits kept dying and it was down to one leaf that was very wrinkled. So I think the poor thing just gave up.
