I have a GSP coming home in 4 weeks and I planned on doing this exact thing while utilizing a clicker
When you’re giving the dogs “treats” in this video, are they just bits of regular dog food? I’m trying to train my 9 week old puppy and that seems like A LOT of treats. His stomach would get upset from too much of that
Hey Stonnie! Your training helped me out so much 4 years ago with my first puppy, I nos have her grandchild ❤️🐶 and I am back to learning all over again. I get so many compliments on how well mannered my 4 Year old maltipoo just wanted to thank you again ! 🙌🙌🙌🙌😊🙏 you are THE BEST Dog Trainer dude! I'm in richmond ky we're looking for a German shepard buy found a mix with blue heeler male shepard look
how do you train basenji
Update on Ace - I have gotten him involved in playing some of the games ua-cam.com/users/postUgkx1_veP7CApJK_GWy_TczaMciuG64PqJeU and I can see a difference in his confidence already! My other dog played along and he became intrigued - now its a daily part of our routine - about 3 times a day we do the shell game and the muffin tin game. I am so grateful for coming upon your training techniques!
30 seconds of me trying to find out why my volume isn't working.
Thank you for this, I’m so proud of my dog and myself, my dog did this following theses instructions, again thank you... i will start doing the clean your paws next! Warm greetings. Here is the official link: tinyurl.com/DogTraining588

Yeah same I have a 9 week old toy poodle and we were doing targeting without even realizing
How’s the puppy doing now
@@mariamalmuhairi9687 toy poodle is sick dog. in both senses

@@mariamalmuhairi9687 no problem.
Well spoken and presented. Especially like videos where it isn't about selling products under the guise of education. Keep up the good work Stonnie, very insightful.
Geesh this is wonderful, if I could live my life all over again, I would spend every second training dogs, what a gift the Lord has given us.
What’s stopping you from doing it in this life?
smart training. patient, understanding, and loving
I just love how you recognize the different traits of the puppies!
I love how patient and loving you are with your puppies. You earned a new sub! Thank you!
Great tips , and like the way you added affection along with the treats and your positive energy .
I like your calm way of handling your puppies.
I like to see great training, with people who know and understand dog behavior. Patience and common sense goes a long ways as well. Enjoying your videos. Thanks for sharing.
Enjoyed n found it very interesting your video on training puppies 8 to 10 wks old. Keep showing more videos. Thanks
Wonderful bit of training and family time . With the whole family involved ,you never worry about giving the dog enough exercise . . Looking forward to summer holidays and the bluegrass
My pup is now 9 weeks and I'm learning so much from him. I look forward to your videos, they help me tremendously!!
(In a sing-song voice) "Mixed breed from the pound is the best" that made my heart smile a bit 😊
Why? If you don't mind me asking.
Nicole Elizabeth Yeah me to we adopted our dog from the
Cape Ann Animal Aid. ❤😘🐶
@@11kwright They say a Mongrel makes the best dog here in the UK too.... I believe as they are a mongrel they don't hold the 100%'ness (if that could ever be a word) of there characteristics... So they are easier to train as they are not as aggressive, not as stubborn, not as much tunnel vision etc.... I could be totally wrong of course ;)
The mongrel appears to be a little older than the Malanois pups, and it has more life experience having come from the pound, so it makes sense that the mixed-breed would be a little better at climbing over the obstacles.
"Better' is a relative term. Better at what? Better for what?
@@11kwright please watch kombai dog breed of India aggression, you will know a bit about dogs
Wow very good alot of other trainers are only showing one dog that is older thank you for this very helpful in showing how other dogs react👍👍
Very informational and I love your ending comment! Although I got lucky with a pure bred needing rescue from a shelter, mixed breeds from the pound are indeed the best! 💕
She is lovely. Very special breed. Not for everyone. Thanks and so glad it all worked out.
Lovely way of helping me to understand my new puppy .
By far the best video on early training !!!. Thank you for sharing Stonnie !!!.
Really great that you help us other trainers with these tips.
Like the way you are handling the puppies... gentle but firm. Keep up the good work.... thanks for helping us train our puppy....
targeting, foodworking, fetching... yeah. essential trainging courses for a puppy for sure. I like your way of doing those things. thanks.
Phenomenal video. Can’t wait to start targeting exercises with my 8 week old lab!
Your an excellent trainer. I like your calm demeanor .
This guy is so sweet in his training style!
I love his method and kind voice. Will be watching all vids. 8 week GSD puppy coming tomorrow 🐶

could not have subbed any faster, this guy is perfect for this profession, so glad you share this content.
Thanks!
What an excellent video. Great advice and training technique.
This video is perfect. I'll be bringing home an 8wk old GSD and doing lots of research so I'll be ready. These vids are calm and make me feel more confident
I love this. Thanks! You're like the Bob Ross of puppy training. =) Happy little puppies.
Painting with Bob Ross. RIP. The Dude! Great Afro.
DUDE!!! I was gonna make that EXACT comment!!
I'm researching dog training and found a great resource at Bevs Booster Guide (check it out on google)
That’s like the best description of Stonnie that I’ve ever seen 😂
Antony Reed - Brain Spanking I was literally thinking the EXACT same thing.
THANK YOU for the fetch tips, there are so many YTers who say to use food rewards and train drop it and hold items in their mouth. This is much simpler.
Excellent instruction. Loved the fetch idea
I love your work style.
Thank you so much! We just bought a puppy about an hour ago and its 8 weeks, this was helpful! :)
I like very much your enthusiasm and their happiness
the outro made me smile.. MIX bread from the pound is the best ! LOL love your chann an your doggies
Really an excellent series.
every puppy is so perfect
Out of all training videos. You are the only one that I understand. Great Job. I am a NEW SUBSCRIBER 👍🏽🇺🇸😎🥇🐶
That was fun to watch! Great video 👍
Awesome, cant wait for my next pup. Subscribed
Enjoyed ur calm, insightful n informative vid. Learned much about when to start training a puppy n ur better techniques. Awesome n kudos. New subscriber because of this vid. Looking forward to ur next one. Calm movements.
Started this with my two kittens a few months back. They both sit when I shake the treat jar. It works. Very helpful video. I have a new puppy who will be ready to come home with me in two weeks! I'm so excited, and can't wait to work with her.
How is she?
Enjoy watching all
Your videos. keep up the good work and can't wait for the next one.
Very insightful. Thank you for the video. It was very informative
Love your channel!!! Thank you for being so down to earth!!!
Brilliant training ideas
My very first dog was an 8 week old pit bull--such a breeze to train, mostly. Greatest dog ever.
Second dog was a 2 Ish year old pit mix. It was at this point that I realized how different dogs could be. Great dog, despite her previous life having to have had trauma in it.
I just brought home a 10 week old pit bull puppy a week or so ago---OMG...
I'm a little concerned about this one. While she is still very young and we are just getting started, she is a hellion. When she gets wound up....man!!!
I tried your fetch method with my 9 week old pup today as he previoulsy had no interest in bringing a ball back. I'm amazed at the immediate result, can't wait for his nap to finish so we can play some more. Thanks for a great video Stonnie!
I THOUGHT YOU SAID BRINGING A BALLSACK INSTEAD OF ''BRINGING A BALL BACK'' I AM DYING
@@thegiantdiugh4744 you’re hilarious
You have a lot of puppies. It’s my paradise!
Just Brilliant this Guy.
Mixed breed from the pound is the best......I concur, I got a black lab pit mix from the shelter when she was 6 months old and she's the best dog I ever had, and great with the kids.
This Is a very Good Video and Trains us Very Well In Puppy Training
This series is really great, thank you for taking the time and making this content.
Thank you for your help, I will not give up on my Belgium MALINOIS. Wish you were here though
Great video. I just got a puppy and will begin this training tomorrow. Thanks for posting.
Ps. No offense, it's a compliment. You're the Bob Ross of puppy training:).
Our German Shepherd puppies figured out the potty is outside only after 24 hours of having them! They whine and bolt for the backdoor as soon as they have to go. Amazing!
Love to see the orther puppy in the corner in stay mode position, good boy :D
Just found your channel, really amazing, thanks for your content!
I'm training my 11wk old Dane, he is my Service Dog In Training. We have gone so much further in our training in the past few days than we have in 2 weeks!!! You really have opened my eyes to so much! Thank you Stonnie!!!

Wow amazing energy! I'm the same but got new sharp intelligent challenging husky puppy. Better reminder 100%
Great training video.thanks.
Thank you for this! Gonna give the fetch technique a try.
Very nicely explained, I wish you much success in further videos!
Best Regards from Vienna!
Thank you!
I liked that he is not a fruitcake that sounds all gay about it. I truly love that and finally was able to add a modern instructional video to a playlist.

Excellent and easy to understand (for people) :D
this is a great video thank you! I'm getting my Malinois in 8 weeks and not one trainer showed what your showing. How to actually start training and engagement. They're just talking most of the time but it's nice to see those tips finally put in place. Good job! Now I know exactly how to start on day one. I'll watch your other videos now to learn more.
Working for free isn't a dog trainer's favorite activity, so you can't really blame them. Thanks for watching my channel though. I'm glad you enjoy the videos!
Stonnie Dennis it was in paid for training/education videos :) just too much bla bla and not enough practical work.
Well then, yeah, that would be a rip off...lol...
Great video!
Great video
Howdy Stonnie, I love your videos!!! So informative. Can you share what you use as rewards for the puppies to keep them wanting to be supervised? What chow or treats? Thanks again for sharing your knowledge!
I love this!😍
Truly amazing
You're a good instructor.
and he does not sound gay! i recommend him to anyone.
Great video..... just got my “dream” puppy 8 week old all Black GSD male. I’ve had him for three days and he goes potty #1 & #2 on command. He’s crazy fearless. He’ll make a great Service Dog for me. Keep up the great videos!
I have a Black GSD coming in a few days! Keep your eyes out for a video!
Stonnie Dennis He know a lot of commands......like you say it is different when there are distractions.... I think he does really well. I had to put down my service dog who I had for 5 years. I had help training him though Sherries Project: Wounded Warrior Pack. The PTSD training really was who he was as a dog. It was natural for him and course the pack bond helped too. He was a Shelter rescue 50% Black Labrador retriever, 25% Rottweiler, 20% Whippet, 5% unknown.
This Dog has genetics of an awesome working dog. He is a Working GSD breed Not the sloped show GSD. My hope was he would be a little more sturdy.
I guess at 9 weeks now I’m attempting to give my words meaning and still have fun. I’m trying to take advantage of his fearlessness now in hopes for building blocks later for Service Dog training. As the last video I watched genetics, education, and management; MY question is how will training change as the dog gets older? My dog now Twilight Justice (Twilight) will be my own first puppy. I was to be the Dad & Mom for him. Maybe with Twilight’s help I can learn more how not to be “Stuck” running combat missions in Iraq....... and live in the moment. Thanks again!
Thanks Stonnie got the training tips
Very good video young man, I learned a lot
That was great!
Simply the best dog training videos on youtube!!! thanks a lot, Stonnie!
Thanks for watching!
Good info and advice.
Good job, thanks.
Been waiting and waiting for a new Stonnie video 👍
Thanks for watching!
This is helpful, Thank you for this video.
training simplified great stuff
Nice explanation, totally what I do with my pups over the years. Now the challenge Aussie Shepherd Border Collie Cross with lots of butterflies in the brain-lol yeah love the mix breeds and crosses, they are all good though.
Great video. Sadly, most people never train their dog and the dog becomes aggressive or bored and barks and is undisciplined and the dog is not happy. Proper training gives you a better pet and the dog is happier
Puppy 2: Let's train stonnie!
Wow .. the information I just took in from this video is amazing . My puppy just turned 18 weeks today . I taught him to sit and follow me out side and not run for anything or animal . But the he’s having problems with chewing stuff .. how can I break that . I hate to think I’ll have to leave him in the cage when I’m sleeping or not home but he’s not catching on like my old dog . But I love him and I’m gonna work with him no matter what
Hi Stonnie, your video helps to explain my Belgian Malinois. We rescued him at about 8 months old from a kill-shelter. He learns quickly and is highly intelligent. Perhaps as a puppy, this is how he was trained and then somewhere along the line, he ended up in the shelter 2x before we adopted him. But it makes total sense now why he always follows my hands when I am teaching him new commands.
'' We rescued him at about 8 months old from a kill-shelter.'' ''...and then somewhere along the line, he ended up in the shelter 2x before we adopted him.'' The shelter stuff is so self indulgent, unnecessary and not related to the dog following your hand whatsoever but ok, I get it you adopted a dog, not rescued a dog, unless you went through a fire and saved him or something. You could have sum it up with just ''Perhaps as a puppy, this is how he was trained '' which is the ONLY thing which has ANYTHING to do with the subject in question.
great video and fun training! subbed
Thank you
great vid
