Perfect breakdown. I've been riding with Eminem since he came on the scene. One thing I knew early on was you really have to listen to what he's saying. Yes, he will give you shock value stuff, diss tracks, personal songs etc. He runs in so many lanes. He really got complex in the last few years with the word play and double/triple entendre's but I'm here for it. I think reaction channels are really helping people. His music is getting millions and billions of streams on Spotify and other platforms. His album Curtain Call just reached diamond. He now has 3 diamond albums and 3 diamond singles if I'm not mistaken

I just adore this song. The flow and the cadence and the content and the rhyming ... so damn good. Wasn't originally a fan of Beyonce on it, but I've come to find her okay now. The chorus definitely fits her as a person.

On reflection, I actually think Beyonce was the perfect choice for this hook. If you think about it, most of what he said Beyonce could also say about her career too (as can Jay).
They are absolutely right too. They are human & it’s unfair of fans to expect perfection. It just isn’t attainable. Such a moving & impactful song.

He started the diff flows since recovery. And really went into it on mmlp2. So he slowly got there. Not all a sudden on Revival. A great thing about Em is that he switches it up. He's not boring and monotonous.

There is a reason this song was the first one on the album. It's just too bad people didn't sit down and actually listen to hear what he was telling us. He poured his heart and thoughts out to us in this. So many just disregarded everything. This song gave me goosebumps the first few times I heard it.
I don't care what anyone says, Revival is one of my favs to listen to from start to finish...the way the album was intended to be listened to. I listen to it often and it sounds awesome in the car too lol.
You're right, this one is mostly Marshall (with exception to him messing around on Framed and Heat😂).
I feel like he put a lot into this album and he was likely feeling a certain way with the feedback afterwards, obviously cause then came Kamikaze.
I have seen a lot of reactors admit that they were wrong to have written this one off comp back then. I think a lot of fans may feel bad for dismissing it too.

I would say revival Are in my top 3 album og em. Marshall Mathers LP 1. Mtbmb bside 2 then revival 🔥 and recovery at nr 4. I like when he talks from the heart. And i dont mind pop beats. Why must everything be hiphop? Isent that great that you can rap on rock beats,pop beats and rnb? It shows how sick you are as an rapper when you can spit on any beat.
Im a rapper myself from norway and i love a challange. Raggae,rnb,pop,hiphop. And im born in the late 80s so i know how it was in the 90s with pac and nwa but now we are in 2022. We need more then just old school and west coast rap

Idk what's wrong with YT bc I cried the first time I heard this song FR 😂 Being a female, I LOVED him showing his vulnerable side and showing us his heart....BEAUTIFUL! I also liked that he fused genres. I adore his Shady side spitting fire too depending on my mood so I like options from Em. Revival was such a deep and sad album overall. And if you think about the albums that followed after this, this album was basically him saying "I'm sorry for what's about to happen". He knew he was going to be panned for this album, and stock piled that hate into back to back to back albums of him just shitting all over the music industry.

I loved the Cordae verse from Em, the only verse that is garbage on that track is Cordae's recycled as verse. That was lame af to me,don't get a goat featured on your song only to reuse the same verse from original track,that's not a remix.
