Ohhh I've got an EVGA 3080 10GB works a treat
Bro, this is awesome, I have the same video card 🔥
I paired this card with my veteran FX 8350... don't ask me about the bottleneck
MSI Ventus or Mech = Coil Whine. I have MSI Mech 2x V1 Rx 6750xt is good performance but high coil whine noise
Most cards that I owned from different manufacturers had coil whine, some more, some less.
@@RATechYT I returned the Rx 6750xt due to the sound, I am thinking of buying the newly released Sapphire Pulse Rx 7600xt instead?
RA Tech : Last year I've had 2 x EVGA RTX 3080 10GB + 1 x EVGA RTX 3080 12GB (v2)....and this year I've had 4 x Manli RTX 3080 Ti 12GB and 1 x Palit RTX 3080 Ti 12GB which were eating from 350 - 441 Watts with continuous of 390 Watts and they all haven't convinced me to buy myself a single one. Especially the 3080 Ti was the one I was most dissapointed with because it was noticeably slower than my RX 6900 XT 16GB while eating around 100 Watts more than my RX 6900 XT 16GB.
This 3080 competes with the 6800 XT on the used market price wise, tested them both recently and they're great cards. Each has its pros and cons: for example the 6800 XT consumes less and performs exceptionally well in certain titles, while the 3080 delivers better performance with ray tracing and is a great productivity card. There are more things I could add here, but at the end of the day deciding which card is better depends on the use case of a person.
@@RATechYT In my deep dive testing the RX 6800 XT 16GB consumed at max peak of 269 Watts of power and in rasterizing it performed on paar with the RTX 3080 Ti 12GB and left the nonTi version in the dust. Both rtx cards consumed anywhere from 100 - 140 Watts more power.
Raytracing is irrelevant since it's a dynamic rendering feature and not consistent and full of bugy.
Productivity is great on both, AMD and Nvidia, so it's irrelevant which one is slightly better.
@@lflyr6287 The total system power consumption with the 6800 XT while running the Cyberpunk benchmark at ultra 1440p maxes out at about 480W, while with the RTX 3080 it hits 520W, though the frame rate is 5-10% higher with the GeForce GPU. In an older title like Portal 2 (with the frame rate uncapped) the 3080 consumes noticeably more, 6000 series AMD GPUs are pretty efficient that's for sure. Generally, in my tests with the Ryzen 5 5600 overclocked to 4.6 GHz + 3200 MT memory, both cards trade blows in rasterized performance depending on the title, though with RT the RTX 3080 is much better. I wouldn't say that RT performance is irrelevant, it does make the games look better and more immersive, so that is an advantage for the GeForce card.
Productivity wise Nvidia GPUs do generally hold a noticeable advantage, and that's a fact. With 7000 series, AMD has caught up to Nvidia, but unfortunately still falls behind in some areas.
@@RATechYT where do you get your PWR consumption of the RX 6800 XT ? You're reading it completely wrong using either CapFrameX that reads the improper and wrongfully reported broken power readings called GPU ASIC Power directly from AMD drivers. It's wrongfully reported also in HWInfo.
I have directly measured it with an osciloskop and current clamps as to compared that PWR consumption to the HWInfo readings.
In reality the RX 6800 XT 16GB eats at max absolute peak of 269 Watts. HWInfo reports that PWR properly for AMD GPU-s while for Nvidia it doesn't because their drivers don't include certain addings and losses.
The other proof that RX 6800 XT eats way bellow 300 Watts is that my PSU RM 850X never turns on the FAN while using it....and when I use the RTX 3080 Ti 12GB the fan almost immediately starts spinning which indicates that the combined PWR pull on my rig in that scenario is somewhere above 430-450 Watts and that is on of the TWO CONDITIONS to turn it on.
For example my AMD RX 6900 XT 16GB reference is measured and reported like that :
max peak GPU temp = 71°C
max peak MEMORY junction temp = 74°C
max peak GPU hot spot = 82°C
max peak VRM 1 / 2 temp = 70,5°C
max peak total GPU PWR consumption = 294 Watts
continuous GPU frequency = 2570 MHz
fan speed avg = 2900 rpm
This was left on for a month and measured with hours and hours of gaming games like RDR2 at 4K Ultra details and many other modern games.
Your readings of certain values are wrong because you completely trust AMD/NVIDIA drivers to report all values properly to HWInfo and CapFrameX programs. In reality AMD makes mistakes and Nvidia makes mistakes with their reportings. U have to use common sense and look at the supposed values, actually reported values, you have to check if one of them reported that they have certain broken values and you have to look at the side components like my PSU-s indications were.
In the RX 6000 series vs RTX 3000 series....AMD is way way more efficient at the same performing TIER.
And in practice the RX 6800 XT is completely on paar with the RTX 3080 Ti in every rasterized game and it's definitely not slower in any of them.
@@lflyr6287 If you read the first 5 words of my previous comment carefully you'll understand that I wasn't talking about the power consumption of the GPU alone. I use a regular power meter to check the power consumption of a computer.
I had a Palit RTX3080 Game Rock OC, great card but that 10GB of memory was a joke 😡😡
Gorgeous card!
@@RATechYT It was, I really liked the design and I was looking to get the 4080 in that design but I decided on 7900XTX mostly because of its vram and higher raster performance 😅😅
