@Icthyologist As you can see in the video that's a common problem with entire line. Not just one figure in particular, but the entire line is a toss up of whether or not your figure is a "fall a part" figure.
I fully agree with quality. I've got 6 of the Dragon Stars line, Saiyan Saga Vegeta broke within 10 minutes of use, Nappa had the exact opposite issue with legs so wobbly I can barely get him to stand, Super Buu and Kid Buu are decent, Omega Shenron is surprisingly good and the Perfect Cell is probably the best they've made to date. Someone else commented the line is hit or miss, that's the perfect description. My strategy is to buy S.H. @@Figures_of_Action_Reviews That's completely fair! Vegeta was my first experience with them, they do NOT give a good first impression at least 20-40% of the time. The only ones I'll buy are ones that I just don't care enough to spend $80 or more on (Like Omega Shenron). I do appreciate the points you made on the cost of Figuarts, that always determines my preference on them. There's honestly zero reason to buy a $24-26 Goku or Vegeta, when there are $35 options that are significantly higher quality
@scoscgaming that was one of the major points. If 10 dollars wasn't going to break your wallet why go cheap against the same figure that is better in quality
@@Figures_of_Action_Reviews You hit the nail on the head when you said if the $10 isn't absolutely necessary for something else, Figuarts is get what you pay for. Even a bad Figuarts figure is leaps and bounds above Dragon Stars at their best. The Cell and Buu figures I have displayed are on borrowed time. Once they make a new Cell and rerelease Super Buu, they'll be gone faster than Yamcha to the Saibamen

No they are not. The problems with these figures aren't that colors/proportions are a bit off, or missing paint apps, or pose ability issues. The problems with these figures are that you pay good money for a figure only for it to be broken straight out of the box. Most of the guys in this comment section are complaining about QC issues. If this were a problem with a free mini statuette that came with a DVD boxed set fine, but when you pay money for something it shouldn't be a coin flip as to whether or not the thing is broken or not.
@Icthyologist you make a very good point. Whether you pay $200 or $20 you shouldn't be worrying whether or not your figure will be broken out of the box even before you handle it. Unfortunately that is the reputation of the Dragon Stars figure line.
Used to collect Dragon Stars, but transitioned to Figuarts after I got a new job with higher pay. At this point, I only get the handful that aren't in Figuarts yet (Janemba, Omega Shenron, Baby, etc).
I liked dragon stars but asoon as I got my first Dragonball fig from shf couldn’t go back to dragon stars I realized how bad dragon stars were to shf even tho shf are more expensive but it’s worth it
@Vokz7 my take on it is similar. Although anyone can buy what they want SH Figuarts held up more than Dragon Stars as for the figures I bought. SH had the better quality

In my opinion instead of collecting dragon stars and shf, I now collect Demoniacal fit, they are not much more expensive than shf and are pretty good quality
I have many dragon stars, and not one has ever broken on me. They are incredibly mid though and are entirely bought to fill gaps not yet produced by sh Figuarts
I bought the scouter vegeta dragon stars and yeah it pretty bad but I dont think anyone can justify spending 200 or 150 dollars for 6 inches of abs plastic same with perfect cell so if you are going to buy a d star atleast get one of a really hard to get character
I don't have a problem with anyone buying those figures. You're right, if you want to buy cheaper figures cool, but its a definite gamble on the QC end. Now I buy $100 figures all the time, but they mainly Mafex, Mezco, SH Figuarts, and other imports. However, the quality is definitely much better. I buy Hasbro figures (Marvel Legends, Fortnite, GI JOE) all the time. However, when I want premium figures I save for them and buy them. Dragon Stars figures don't even have ab crunch so that is another no for me.
Dragon stars may not be the best figure lines when it comes to quality control but it’s only good for some collectors would add some the figure lines from dragon stars where Sh Figuarts have not made yet like Baby, janemba etc and the worst part about dragon stars is that they always reuse the same body over again for effects and stuff
Yeah I can agree. But I must've gotten lucky, the last DS figure I've bought was ssjb Gogeta. And he wasn't that bad. (probably the best from that line)
I'm keeping my collection only to model kits. I feel that every S.H. and dragon stars are way too short. Just keeping the Frieza. Bad thing about model kits is that I haven't heard anything if they are doing any new ones.
Neat( depressing) fact: You fell hook line and sinker by comparing them with SHF. Dragon stars and SHF are both made by bandai and all of the problems dragon stars posses is built on the fact that bandai does not want to compete with themselves. If dragon stars were of higher quality with their low price point, why would people purchase their "premium" figurearts that vary from cheap to $90 dollar with some having terrible QC and abyssmal availability? Quick answer: They wouldn't or have a lot of people collecting dragon stars instead. Bandai gives dragon stars their limitations willingly so people can look at SHF has a better alternative and get them hooked, it is a purposeful limitation not an error.
I have a few that SH.F hasn't made yet like the GT like super baby 2 and Omega Shenron plus have the kid buu i like just taking them apart and shaving some plastic off in places to improve articulation plus adding a wash then a flat clear to remove any shiny parts and make them look good on the shelf next to the SH.F but I can definitely agree they are not the best but definitely fun for customization especially before trying it on expensive figures like SH.F if ever want to add shading or a blood wash on a battle damaged goku or someone else
Well, also, SHF rarity is veeery artificial Big resellers (mainly chinese) act like they're running out of P-Bandai exclusive figures, then the moment Bandai rereleases a figure as an SDCC exclusive or even a general release, they open their massive storehouses and start trying to sell the previous release like crazy at aliexpress for up to 50% less Case and point: Battle Damaged Jiren, Raditz, SS2 Battle Damaged Gohan, SS1 Vegeta (maaaan this one's crazy, it went from 200 usd to like 60-70 sometimes), SS1 Trunks Scalpers thrive on SHF figures, and Bandai could do lots of things to prevent that but they rather keep their best releases exclusive to regions/events. It's so dumb
@julianconcha7641 it is and I have seen that happen. The Nappa I have is 260+ right now. However let's be honest, which looks better the DS or SH Jiren 😂 so I would just save my money until I had enough for it.
I used to religiously collect Dragon Stars when I first knew about it back in 2022. It went for over 9 months of buying common and hard to find ones until I realized I just collect it because it's cheap and up to that point, I was just forcing myself to like it. I thought I could've gotten myself a handful of SHF for the total price I spent on Dragon Stars. The one that irks me the most about these Dragon Stars figs is the scale . They just don't make sense. Vegetas are just as tall as the Gokus, kid Gohan and Gotenks are just too tall, and Krillin is almost as tall as 18 its hilarious lmao. On the brighter side, I can say that the newer ones look pretty cool now namely the ones starting with the Super Hero Line. I thought Super Hero Goku looked pretty great. Head to body ratio is just right (V2 Goku's head being too small) and face sculpt actually looks good for a base Goku. Vegeta ist still tall though.
@ShidoAsano I'm not knocking anybody that collects them but my experience taught me to just save for the better quality figure. So far SH Figuarts has the better DragonBall Z figures. I gave DS figures a try but they fell a part on me 😂
Honestly bro you gotta give where props are deserved S.H will always been amazing quality cuz yeah u get what u pay for BUT $20 for a final form cooler? 1st from frieza? Baby Vegeta? Omega Shenron? Janemba? Perfect cell? Kid buu? They’re some of the best ones in the line and even though they’re cheaper quality they get the job done and fill gaps that’ll hurt your bank with other bands. Articulation is fair. Don’t be so rough and you got yourself a nice figure for $20 that is to scale with most if not all S.H Figs. Or simply being appropriately bigger to the actual size variations in the series. Overall 1-10 sum dragon stars definitely would touch 8.
@danielbarreto9053 OK I'd be willing to give them props on availability. Especially since Ross has almost the entire line at $15 (more than what I'd be willing to pay but Yada Yada yada). I understand not being rough with them because you definitely can't be rough with premium figures like Mafex. However we are not giving them an 8 out of 10 🤣. I'd be willing to cut a 6 and that's due to price, design, and availability. SH Figuart Nappa on eBay is going to cost you 100 to 200 bucks, but Dragonstars Nappa is going for 20 to 30 bucks. Its all about what you like that matters. Not what I say or anyone else it's what you like.
@ don’t know what economy you livin in but any toy is past $10 at this point so $15 for Ross is expected but I want to see the ones I just named at your local Ross because I would never. Maybe first few Waves sure or the fall outs of the line. The better models that came out definitely not stocked up at the local Ross…they barely hit gamestops nowadays how Ross got em on deck? And I own Nappa SH and not the dragon stars he is better obviously just off of size portions, certain characters yes I’ll pay $20 and have the second figure made of baby vegeta to exist in my collection rather than $200-300 for a SH comiccon exclusive that may or may not exist. Pride aside dragon stars provides a variety and alternative means of collecting if your trying to find specific characters that are budget friendly and don’t look like pure knockoffs.
@danielbarreto9053 Ross gets their stock from over stock and liquidation of other retail stores. I have noticed the main sources of their toys are Walmart, Target, GameStop, and some local retail stores. This is because those stores have few options of what to do with overstock. They can crush and trash it, put it deep on clearance (I got transformers 2 pack for 7 bucks at Walmart), or sell it in bulk at a discount to other stores like Ollies and Ross. Even the lesser distributed figures can find their way into Ross. They had UI Goku in there previously. Burlington has SS adult Gohan.
"Why I Don't Collect Paw Patrol Figures" ahh video. hate dragon stars, die hard figuarts guy, but damn are these just dragon stars toys, might give a goku one to a lil cousin, he aint touching my convention exclusives love the content
@craigcollins8212 I understand buying from cost perspective but if it's affordable I would rather pay for the better quality. Trust me I get it because that import price to Canada is crazy. I'm a reseller as well and people I have sold to in Canada hate that import fee they get charged.
this was funny and helpful, "discombobulate." *breaks figure trying to get it out of package.* idk, if I was a dragon ball fan, and i want a decent figure based on the series- idk I'd just watch out too.
I mean figurearts also got there own problems like I seen some reviews where some complain about a few things I never can collect for figurearts cuz I'm to broke for those and plus I prefer older figures than figurearts and dragon stars but everyone is different
@bakufan0658 Ding ding ding you got it, everyone is different. I know figuarts can be expensive but I spent over 130 for that Nappa. So I saved up for it. That's what I do for all the expensive purchases I make. I want the Haslab Sentinel but I know I'm going to have to pay 600+ for it unless Hasbro releases them to the public.
I wish we could start our beef over this Mr. Figures but sadly I don't collect DBZ, except for that one figure I got at Ollies, can't even remember which character it was, which could be Dragonstar? Heck if I know, but I do know it only cost 1.99. Hopefully Dragonstar lovers won't be coming at you too hard.
I started collecting with dragon stars a few years ago when i randomly found a vegeta at Walgreens! I have moved on to much better figures and sold my dragonstars they were trash lmao
I thought they were a great deal at first, but reality set in fast for me. As I have showed in the video I have purchased both, but the quality of S.H. Figuarts was just better. Yes, the S.H. Figuarts can be expensive. However, when I see something that I want that is expensive I save up for that purchase.
I got a ssj4 dragon stars goku and the leg peg broke in day 1... never buying dragon stars again but that ssj4 goku got fixed with some hot silicone and some hot glue but still not getting it anymore.
@@Gohanblanco100porcionto it just wasn't worth the money for me. So if you buy it because it's cheaper and then you have to buy another one at full price then you wasted money. You could've bought an SH Figuarts for the money you spent. Not saying that SH Figuarts figures won't break but they are better quality than Dragon Stars.
Want to know something funny? Some of the dragon ball evolve line of figures have similar articulation to that of SHFiguarts like the hips and some of the newer ones have butterfly joints. Freaking butterfly joints that allow them to bring their arms in front of their chest, when some shf struggle to even do that.
It's easy to compare Dragon Stars to figuarts, but even when you compare DS to other figure lines in it's own price range such as Marvel Legends or Star Wars Black Series they look bad. Hell, when compared to various 10 to 15 dollar Jakks figures for different franchises they look bad. DS should for all intents and purposes be much better than what they are. Mattel WWE figures are better. The Jada Toys Street Fighter line puts them to shame and they also cost around the same. The damn 10 dollar Dragon Ball Evolve line even looks better and has better articulation. There's just no excuse. I also want to point out that BBTS isn't a good representation of the prices for the exclusive figures. They mark them up from their original premium Bandai price. A figure that costs 60 bucks on PB will costs 120 on BBTS. BBTS imports them and resells them at a mark up. No different than buying from a reseller on ebay or a collector group. For all intents and purposes the BBTS price is the after market price and not the actual retail price. General release figures are however listed for their actual retail price.
@Finfection so I thought about buying all of my import figures directly from Japanese stores but after that shipping and handling you end up paying just as much so I said forget about it. But if you know another place that won't charge you 50+ bucks for shipping please by all means let ya boy know
@@Figures_of_Action_Reviews Amazon Japan. Hobby Genki and Nin-Nin. I've never had to pay that much for shipping import figures. I think the most I've ever paid is like 15 bucks. You will usually get the figure much earlier than the western release as well.
No shade intended, all respect. Its a money thing tbh. The DS Nappa was $21, there was no price on the Figuarts.... how much was it? No shade, but DS are $20, most places have them from $10 around here. Figuarts just started the cheaper ones. Like seriously, they were $60 MINIMUM until like a year ago... cmon. Online prices are always higher.
@leviathan_is_me so I did pay over 100 dollars for that Nappa S.H. Figuarts. I said I wouldn't battle it out over these figures because you have some people that don't want to hear others' opinions just shout how great Dragon Stars figures are for the price 😂. You seem to be different, someone who can listen and offer dialog, not just ridiculous banter. Yes, Dragon Stars are cheaper, but that's because they are of cheaper quality. The figure design is very simplistic with Dragon Stars. Also, let's not act like the facial design is top-tier look alike quality. Jiren S.H. Figuarts is much better than Dragon Stars in both design and quality. That is why I said if people need to buy the cheaper alternative then cool. Not everyone can afford a Mercedes, but that doesn't mean people aren't supposed to buy Mazdas. SH Figuarts have been 35 dollars since 2017 as well. Young Gohan was not 50 plus bucks. My stance is that if you can afford a $35 Figuarts why buy a $20 DS knowing it could fall a part soon as you open the box. I even save for what I want that is expensive. I'm not buying knock offs to save a buck. If I want something that I can't afford at this time I save for it. Some of these people are so whacky they are saying how great DS figures are because they are cheaper but at the same time buying Haslab projects. I hear and understand your thoughts which is why I was willing to reply to you.
@Figures_of_Action_Reviews Thank you for taking the time to do so. I realized I was doing the exact thing you were saying in the video (couldn't help it). Absolutely, yes. The DS line is BY FAR cheaply made. Look at the UI issue with the clothes paint...how did that even get out the factory, lol. I own many of the $35 S.H. Figuarts figs and agree 100% with what you're saying there. When I see the DS for $10, though... bet. Thanks again for replying to me. At the end of the day, we are all fans and choose to represent how we can. ✌️
@leviathan_is_me You are most welcome man. I may poke fun at certain toys but it's never out of disrespect. I wasn't always at a point where I could afford the things I want so I know what it's like to have to choose cheaper options. That's why I don't make fun of people. None of these figures are perfect. They are people who like Super 7 but I don't. I think they are too expensive and look weird but even the ones I found on clearance at Walmart I won't buy. We each have our preference. I hope it didn't seem as if I was talking down. I'm just here to share my experience and love for action figures. I'm here just to be in the mix. I appreciate the conversation too.
@Figures_of_Action_Reviews Never even crossed my mind (talking down). I collect a lot of things, some of which are not cheap (guitars), so I don't mind DS, lol. The availability is another thing I didn't mention. You can find DS from Walmart to Gamestop. Mainly, we have to order the others' sight unseen and sometimes that's risky. My Rose Black had a paint run on his eye...
DB stars is an affordable toyline for kids. In contrast, SH Figuarts is clearly aimed at collectors at premium prices. So obviously they can't stand a comparison. That's why I feel that saying that Stars are trash is kind of harsh (which rhymes, hahaha). The question here, in my opinion, is whether a Figuarts character is worth three times or more than a Stars one. And I would argue that they are absolutely not. Figuarts are bought by adults with deeper pockets, and they are way, way overpriced for what they are. It's just that we are paying crazy royalties. Plus, Bandai doesn't want to compete with itself. So it offers two toylines; a regular, and a deluxe one. Obviously, the regular figures are purposely made so they don't cast a shadow on the deluxe ones. Bandai's idea is expanding their pool of buyers with a cheaper option. And if some of the premium figures buyers purchase both lines, even better for them. I'd love to see the sales of both lines. I bet Stars is a much more successful toyline than Figuarts because of it's much wider target, more affordable prices and availability.
I know that a few of the Dragon Stars figures look better than the rest of the line but after being so disappointed by the figures I can't take that chance. SH Figuarts have less of a chance of breaking straight out of the box.
The reason why people Collect them is to Customize them or either Sh figuarts hasn't made a Character yet but Dragon Stars made them so to just get it as a Place Holder I saw the Dragon Stars Baby Vegeta was pretty good also the one time Dragon Stars Cell is better than Sh figuarts Cell now that SH Cell is a Bootleg🤣
Hold up.. i just gotta say Figuarts at $35 never have them blast effects… but ya dragon stars suck but atleast use those blast effects for the $35 figuarts lol
@lucasrezende226 I remember when I bought my Krillin he came with the Destructo Disc. But I may be mistaken. However you make a great case to buy Dragon Stars solely for the effects. Let's face it effects period cost money despite who makes them. Unless DS start making effects only for cheap that's the only way they will end up in my cart 🤣
There are plenty of figuarts that costs only 35 bucks while some Dragon Stars costs 25. It's not that huge of a price gap for the quality difference. Dragon Stars are garbage even when compared to other figure lines in it's own price range.
@@TheSaiyanDoge Marvel Legends can be kinda lazy and just do the bare minimum most of the time, but they are indeed higher quality than Dragon Stars. I don't find them comparable to figuarts quality however. Sure they have similar points of articulation, but when you have two of the same character side by side it's a night and day difference. A good example of this are the figures for the Spider-man final swing suit from No Way Home. Or hell, figures for any of the three Peters from that movie. Another line I thought of that is better than DS is the Gundam Universe line. Made by the same company at the same price point and quality gap between them is huge. The only real gripe with that line is the lack of accessories.
So I have that brand of Android 17 and 18 I have SH brand along with that model brand that you full assemble and the Irwin brand of 17 and 18 SH brand is best I got both 17 and 18 and their dbs version shit was expensive but worth it

Dragon stars (in my opinion) is overrated and are bad figures. The articulation sucks. Even jakks pacific have better and updated the articulation. Then again dragon stars they made figures likely baby, cooler and cell which look like good figures. Again my opinion
@smashmotion-9918 If only some other people understood that it's based on opinion from each other's preferences. From my experience I don't like Dragon Stars where someone else might feel different. Besides the face sculpts are bad in my opinion. SH Figuarts are better to me.

I collect dragon stars
I never really had many majors issues
I have many dragon stars, and not one has ever broken on me. They are incredibly mid though and are entirely bought to fill gaps not yet produced by sh Figuarts
Dragon stars are really good
Fr the only ones that broke on me was golden frieza and ultra instinct goku
They're ok especially for the price. My own experience is why I don't collect them.
I do see we're your coming from
I bought the scouter vegeta dragon stars and yeah it pretty bad but I dont think anyone can justify spending 200 or 150 dollars for 6 inches of abs plastic same with perfect cell so if you are going to buy a d star atleast get one of a really hard to get character
Glad I collect the SHFiguarts cause they are authentic and really really well made
Like they improved so much from when the figures had the 1.0 Body’s
@@JodaroKujo they have gotten better even from those made back in 2017 when I got my first one.
@@Figures_of_Action_Reviews my most favorite figure is the Legendary Super Saiyan Goku figure
Yeah I can agree. But I must've gotten lucky, the last DS figure I've bought was ssjb Gogeta. And he wasn't that bad. (probably the best from that line)
I think dragon stars is still way better then anything we got in the 90s or early 2000s
@dr3nch_g0d52 I can agree with that, but by that same statement a lot of action figures are better than their 90s versions.
@@Figures_of_Action_Reviews true
I'm keeping my collection only to model kits. I feel that every S.H. and dragon stars are way too short. Just keeping the Frieza.
Bad thing about model kits is that I haven't heard anything if they are doing any new ones.
@josealbertomartinez9739 yea they are short but I use them when only taking shots with my camera.
@@Figures_of_Action_Reviews I been practicing how to paint skin tone on them because they are so pale
@@firestarsantos7467 Ok
I have a few that SH.F hasn't made yet like the GT like super baby 2 and Omega Shenron plus have the kid buu i like just taking them apart and shaving some plastic off in places to improve articulation plus adding a wash then a flat clear to remove any shiny parts and make them look good on the shelf next to the SH.F but I can definitely agree they are not the best but definitely fun for customization especially before trying it on expensive figures like SH.F if ever want to add shading or a blood wash on a battle damaged goku or someone else
Well, also, SHF rarity is veeery artificial
Big resellers (mainly chinese) act like they're running out of P-Bandai exclusive figures, then the moment Bandai rereleases a figure as an SDCC exclusive or even a general release, they open their massive storehouses and start trying to sell the previous release like crazy at aliexpress for up to 50% less
Case and point: Battle Damaged Jiren, Raditz, SS2 Battle Damaged Gohan, SS1 Vegeta (maaaan this one's crazy, it went from 200 usd to like 60-70 sometimes), SS1 Trunks
Scalpers thrive on SHF figures, and Bandai could do lots of things to prevent that but they rather keep their best releases exclusive to regions/events. It's so dumb
@julianconcha7641 it is and I have seen that happen. The Nappa I have is 260+ right now. However let's be honest, which looks better the DS or SH Jiren 😂 so I would just save my money until I had enough for it.
My dragonstars Beerus is dope as mfin hell bro. I know they're cheap but they made Beerus look good as hell. Beerus Version 2 with extra hands
I get the point I mostly own dragon Starz and they fall apart easily some don't even have good srticulation

I'm a reseller as well and people I have sold to in Canada hate that import fee they get charged.
this was funny and helpful, "discombobulate." *breaks figure trying to get it out of package.*
idk, if I was a dragon ball fan, and i want a decent figure based on the series- idk I'd just watch out too.
@ImbalancedSabre what can I say you get what you say for sometimes. I trust proven quality
@@thediscountactionfiguredude They could come in here charging full of rage it'll just be them raging in the comments 😂
I believe those have fallen apart can be put back together

I got a ssj4 dragon stars goku and the leg peg broke in day 1... never buying dragon stars again but that ssj4 goku got fixed with some hot silicone and some hot glue but still not getting it anymore.
@@Gohanblanco100porcionto it just wasn't worth the money for me. So if you buy it because it's cheaper and then you have to buy another one at full price then you wasted money. You could've bought an SH Figuarts for the money you spent. Not saying that SH Figuarts figures won't break but they are better quality than Dragon Stars.
@@Figures_of_Action_Reviews for sure. I may don't have shf.(I only have third party like df and kong) and the quality is similar to shf so I know it
Want to know something funny? Some of the dragon ball evolve line of figures have similar articulation to that of SHFiguarts like the hips and some of the newer ones have butterfly joints. Freaking butterfly joints that allow them to bring their arms in front of their chest, when some shf struggle to even do that.
@darkbread777 Now not all SH Figuarts are cream of the crop but from my experience they outshine the Dragon Stars figures.
My final form frieza can’t even stand 💀💀💀
Me personally, most of them just don't look good
@BayronAvila64 They look like knock offs. Now some look decent but the majority look off. My dislike of them comes from the poor quality.

Why I don’t as soon I bought my first dragon stars as a kid broke the leg as soon I open it it’s shit 😂😂😂 now I collect sh fig
@@FLamingoGang458 I just couldn't take another chance on getting another crap figure.
I like dragon stars but they fall apart easily
@Gogeta659 A lot of people like them but they just are not worth the risk for me
No shade intended, all respect.
I bet Stars is a much more successful toyline than Figuarts because of it's much wider target, more affordable prices and availability.
the best dragon stars are Super baby 2, Janemba and omega shenron,
also, dragon stars cell is better than the current figuarts cell
@@D-the-goat figuarts perfect cell was made like 10 years ago bro 💀

There are plenty of figuarts that costs only 35 bucks while some Dragon Stars costs 25. It's not that huge of a price gap for the quality difference. Dragon Stars are garbage even when compared to other figure lines in it's own price range.
@@Finfection yeah i think marvel legends is around the same and they are basically shfiguarts quality, just without the extra hands and faces.
