I remember the first time I heard it on vinyl after bringing it home Fred Meyer. It made me want to go out and beat some poser's ass... I was 15. lol And now I am oddly in the business of tasking satellites for the last 25 years.
Glenn is playing here with Parkinson's. Let that sink in. 68 years old, suffering from Parkinson's for 8 years, and still playing with precision. An absolute hero.
This clip proves to me why Tipton is my favourite guitarist of all time. Imagine doing that solo close to 70 with early stage of parkinsons, holy shit. Mad respect for the man.
I had been practicing this song until I could play both guitar parts and make it sound like the album. 2 weeks later I'm in the biggest rock club in Phoenix when Halford showed up and wanted to sing it. I was the only person in the club that could play it so I played with the touring band. I couldn't believe i nailed it from beginning to end and that never happens. Midway thru Halford came up behind me and hooked his arm around my throat with the microphone and a lit cigarette in his hand, and a pitcher of beer in the other. That was the greatest moment in my musical career.
Watching this brings tears to my eyes. I lost my father to Parkinson’s Disease in 2015 so I know what it does to people. To see Glenn Tipton playing like that shows what a master he is and was. To me Judas Priest is one if not the greatest metal bands in the world I hop that they will make another album to show that metal never dies.
The songs are so good the audience knows the lyrics and sings along with them. It takes a long time for the audience to memorize and sing the lyrics, that have to be good enough for the audience to remember.
I knew that K.K was criticising Iron Maiden for copying their image in the earlys 80's, but i didn't hear about that Halford was talking like that about Maiden. Also, the time cures the scars. I've seen many photos of Rob and Bruce on which they were looking like good friends. Also Halford has recorded a song with Dickinson.
I remember watching the Beavis & Butthead episode where they watch the Painkiller video and Butthead says: "These guys are old!" That was 27 years ago!
That right there shows why Priest is one of the greatest bands ever, from any genre. It doesn't even matter what song they do, it's all good! The music world would really suck without them in it.
If what he does in his spare time with a consenting adult offends you, that's your problem. Don't listen to his art if he offends you. I would much rather use any number of more logically consistent fiction books to base my morality off of, if I was in need of such guidance.

Priest fans have no stomach for your lot.
Got a free ticket to a Rush concert in 79'. Wasn't a Rush fan (still not a fan), but thought, "hey, free concert." So I went. Judas Priest opened the show. Never heard of Priest before that day, but was completely blown away. Watching and listening to Rush after Judas Priest was like watching a thumb-wrestling match after a full-on MMA brawl. Went out and bought every priest album immediately and have never looked back.
It's hard to believe their first album came out in 1973, and they still sound this good! I was only in the 2nd grade! In high school, they were everyone's favourite metal band, with Iron Maiden a very close second. I hope they go on for a long time to come.
After being turned on to MY first Judas Priest album ( Hell Bent for Leather ) 37 or 38 years ago in 1978... Here I sit in PURE FUCKING AMAZEMENT that they can still BRING IT, like they do !!!
the way Rob urges the crowd to sing the last choruses is exciting AF. plus he 100% stays in the groove. Rob Halford knows where the 1 is. like how could you possibly be in that audience and not do it? it seems impossible and you can see, hear and feel how much Rob loves them. utterly fantastic.
The Hellion/Electric Eye was the first set of songs that I ever listened to by Judas Priest back in 1987. I saw the live version video from the legendary Memphis 82 show on MTV'S Headbanger's Ball and it blew me away big time.I was 8 years old , and I became a Judas Priest instantly. All these years later I am still a huge massive Judas Priest fan , and this song is still one of my all time favorites ever. This song was way ahead of its time. The message in this song has come true in many ways. Rob(THE METAL GOD) Halford is the real NOSTRADAMUS!!
When The Hellion starts and you hear the crowd sing the melodie....what more can a musician ask for. Money can't give you those goosebumps. I also experienced the same kind of emotions back in '82 when i heard that album of thunder for the first time on its release. "This is magic...the songs ...the sound...how did they do that. They must be aliens." 😂😂 (Aaahh....memories)
7th grade I got Screaming for Vengeance for my birthday....I heard the most epic metal intro and my life was changed...when I got a guitar the next year the first song I learned was The Hellion/Electric Eye....the most epic metal intro ever!
I always get this urge to learn to play the guitar hearing this song ... sadly I haven't been able to see it through yet. Maybe I will pick it up now with all this corona stuff going on. Hope you still enjoy playing it! Stay safe.
silent screams is from the band Halford (the solo band of priest's vocalist). I recommend all 70's albums of judas priest to show how good they were when metal was just started.
Priest is legendary. I love them more every time I play them and I don't know about anybody else but I prefer to listen to their live recordings. Halford is such a phenom that they are the best heard live and the only band I love to hear live. Been a fan for over 35 years and never get tired of hearing these amazing men perform. Priest forever !
This is how GREAT this band is -Priest packed in , us kids in 1977 and there still doing it until today in 2020 . NOBODY else accomplished that AND still making hit albums/CD's . Let that sink in for awhile.
In 1983 when I was 15, I thought bands were old and give out when they were around 40. Now you see Judas Priest killing it at almost 70. Just incredible when you really think about it.
This was my first time seeing Priest live, I was in the second row. Such a great show. Still watching the BluRay with another friend whose first Priest show it was from time to time. Goosebumps guaranteed!
I have always been a huge Tipton fan I wanted to play and look like him he is one of my all time favorite Thank you Mr Tipton for all the great guitar solo and tunes
YES Tipton has precision blistering speed and just has that look of a fucking stag -- stud SHRED lead guitar player forget about it!!⚡💪👊 GOD BLESS/ THANKYOU GLENN TIPTON!!! Such an inspiration to players 🖤❤️
The guitars on this tune is so kick ass, I guarantee they never get sick of playing this song. I still listen to this CD a lot and I bought it when it came out.
Rob sounds great. I can't imagine how much work he put in to bringing his voice back from the ravages of time and age, but the results are fucking glorious. I love this guy...nearly 70 years old and still bringing it in a way that singers/frontmen a third of his age only wish they could. That said, even as a fan of nearly 40 years, I'm still stunned at how profoundly, at least to my ears, the loss of KK has affected the soul of this band. This isn't a knock on Richie - he's a great player who's stepped into an impossible-to-fill spot - but yeah...not the same. And Scott Travis...I swear I've tried, but he continues to rank number one with a bullet on my list of the most soulless, robotic drummers of all time.
I saw Judas priest in the 1970's in the Cooks Ferry Inn a small venue of a 100 people at most on the borders of Chingford London when they were not so famous. Cannot believe they are still going with so many followers. Look at the crowds!
The best metal band I have ever loved. Very synchronized, vocal is extremely superb, the guitarists are dumbfounding, every single sound of the string note is clear and distinct, the bass guitar is amazing, the drummer is totally awesome and captivatingly great. Their songs are totally energizing to the heights. The best band ever.

For being in his 60's he sounds great! I saw them live back in the 80's at a teenager- probably one of the better metal concerts I went to...right up there with Ozzy, Iron Maiden, and a Slayer/Anthax show I saw in the early 90's.
The Hellion is absolutely the best 38 seconds that human ears ever heard.
I have heard better, but is amazing
It’s right up there with The Ides Of March and The Ecstasy Of Gold for concert openings for me

Glenn is playing here with Parkinson's. Let that sink in. 68 years old, suffering from Parkinson's for 8 years, and still playing with precision. An absolute hero.
Tim Siddiqui damn didn't know Glenn has Parkinson more power to him
Similar to Freddie Mercury with AIDS. Those men are legends.
Or Lemmy playing with Cancer, all these men are legends!
Tim Siddiqui excessive cocaine abuse can cause it.
HellraiserDE Parkinson is not similar neither be compared with AIDS.
When you're so legendary you don't even need to sing the chorus.
That happened when I saw Iron Maiden last year, you could barely tell when whether or not Bruce was singing because of the audience.
sometimes they dont even sing the full song (breaking the Law comes to mind) so chorus is not a big deal XD
Just look at Breaking The Law performance. Fans can sing entire song
Cheese is Jar I concur...they launched into Ace’s High and the whole crowd in Winnipeg almost out sang Bruce! it was absolutely mind blowing!
👍🇨🇦
Imagine being in your late 60s and telling your friends “oh I had a busy evening, played in front of 80 thousand people you know”
Rob Halford is such a cool frontman. No running around necessary. He just walks around like a boss. Always has been his style
That is all he needs. Always a boss. Terrific stage presence.
I saw him ride a Harley onto the stage back in the '80s, so not "always".
@@bearbryant3495 I saw him ride a harley onto stage last week.

He did a couple of full solo albums by himself with none other than "The Ox" from The Who (John Entwhistle.)
Deep respect and appreciation.
he was actually in a pretty far stage, he is struggling since 2007-08. Which makes this even more crazy!
