    Thanks for the info on Visible. My cell budget limit is right around $25/mo. I am not a heavy user. I recently switched from Republic Wireless to Boost Infinite. Their rate for me is $25.86/mo. including taxes and fees for 30 gigs of high-speed data and unlimited throttled data. BI is a brand new service and their "dynamic switching" between carriers has not started yet. But, I have traveled around my neck of the woods, and the coverage has been very good. Coverage is the most important factor for me. They use the AT&T and T-Mobile networks, and eventually will use their own towers also.

    • @FrugalRules
      @FrugalRules  Рік тому +2

      We've read some good things about BI, so hopefully it works out well for you. That's not a horrible price, especially if you're getting reliable service.

    • @Bryan-Hensley
      @Bryan-Hensley Рік тому

      You need an esim phone for the dynamic switching to work. That was the main reason I was going to try it, but esim phones are too expensive just to try them. They also don't allow full resolution streaming or full hotspot usage. I was really interested in seeing how the dynamic switching works.

    Hello. I am a subscriber and always look forward to your videos. However, this one seemed atypical. It was strange to see you advocating for a cell phone service. Your research and analysis was, as always, thorough and to the point. It just seemed far from your usual topics on streaming. For what it's worth, this video made me consider Visible Wireless. :)

      I want the mobile reviews, especially MVNOs because they are usually the best value for most average use cases, they don't require a credit pull, most require less personal information to sign up so are less susceptible to impact from data breaches, and most are no contract.

      I switched from visible to us mobile. The main reason was visible was going to require me to get a new phone that I had bought from them originally. However I was also camping much more and was looking for a hotspot to use. Found US mobile allows 4k streaming through the hotspot with 50 GB premium data on the hotspot. I don't use more than that. I'm not sure if it will cut completely off, slow down or no change. 100 GB premium data on the phone.

If I hadn't done that, they would have lost my number because they couldn't get my phone activated, the number is already ported. If you don't get it working before they cancel it, you're number is gone. Most people get pissed off and say just cancel it then, I'll go back to my old provider only to find out the number is lost. My buddy got his number back but I think he had to get the local phone company to do it. It took him over a month.

      In my opinion there is no cell phone carrier that has the best service, coverage, speed, etc. It ALL DEPENDS on where you live in the U.S.A. Best thing to do is compare the coverage maps of Verizon, T-Mobile and ATT in your state and make your decision on who gives you the best coverage in your state. Mint Mobile runs off of T-Mobile towers and their coverage in my state of Arkansas is great. Also T-Mobile has the best 5G network in the country so Mint Mobile fits me very well AND their price plans are super cheap compared to all the other carriers. I love my MINT MOBILE!!!!!

      @@billtinnell2206 That's definitely a fair point. Much of it does come down to where you live and the service there. We've tried services on AT&T in Omaha and haven't had good service. Verizon ones though have worked great.

      We went forward with requesting the updated sim cards. Visible botched my spouses setup with the new sim not allowing her Apple Watch to have service. Then Visible attempted to fix it remotely, how ever they discounted the phone and she as been with service for days. Supposedly they are still working the issue, but will only say it has been escalated. Looking for another carrier option now.

    You guys keep saying mega BYTES in the video, while the speed tests you show are reporting Mbps. There is a difference between Mbps and MBps. Mbps is mega bits per second, and MBps is mega bytes per second. One megabyte is 8 megabits. If internet speed is 80mbps download, it is 10 mega bytes per second. This means you can download a 10 megabyte file in one second.
    Your description is misleading by not understanding this difference - because people need to know that data speeds are measure in mega bits not mega bytes, and mega bytes are how local data storage size is measured. You must divide a internet speed measured in Mbps (for instance 80Mbps) by 8 to get the actual Mega Bytes per second rating.
    Hope this helps other users.

      @FrugalRules  Рік тому

      Yes, you're correct, we misspoke. We know the difference. 🙂 It was actually only three instances, but thanks for pointing it out.

    Great review overall, but I wanted to point out that the speeds are Mbps (Megabits per second) not MB (Megabytes). When discussing network speeds we talk in Kilobits, Megabits, and Gigabits per second. Kilobytes, Megabytes, Gigabytes, etc are storage capacity.

    Sorry but visible is 🗑️. I had high hope since they are behind Verizon which I switched from but I couldn’t use my phone anywhere!!!! I mean not even for emergencies !!! I just switched went somewhere and phone had no service at all not even for emergencies that took the cake for me. It was working in and out at my house which I was able to deal with but that other incident was it for me. I don’t care how low the price is unable to use the phone even for emergency use is a big NO NO !
