I think it might be possible to strip some armor from arms and heads if one wants to get an additional 0,5 tons to play around with, for example to get more ammo or a small laser. But aside from minor backseating, this channel has been great fun in learning these games and I look forward to it reaching the hundred thousand milestone. :)
Well, literally after I typed that comment, the moment at 2:00 happened, hahah. So not sure if there's much room to wiggle around with when it comes to armour.
I was the Jenner in game 2 and it was me that legged you :D crazy the amount of damage you put out despite taking that much damage and getting legged early on
I love locusts. I mosty pilot my kit foxes and spiders these days but the Pirates bane was my first hero mech and it taught me the ropes with light mech piloting in general. My favorite Locust right now is the 1v with a medium X pulse laser in its energy hardpoint with full cool down and heat gen skills. Its gets over 60% laser CD and duration. It also reaches those 600+ damage multi kill games with relative ease in the hands of a capable pilot.
Wow. Impressive. Not only did you survive (!!!) with a Locust, you did among the most damage and 2nd best score of both teams. [first battle] And very high damage in the second battle.
I need to apologize Baradul. We were on the same team last night and I may or may not have accidentally shot your arm off when you were using your Crusader on Viridian Bog. 😅
"This mech isn't built for countering light mechs" My go to mech for a very long time was a 2 SRM4 + 2 SRM2 Stealth Javelin. Oftentimes a flanking maneuver would go south and the enemy would call their lights on me. If it was just one, I would let it chase and then 1v1 it. I got pretty good at SRMs that way, although my skills could use some sharpening again. :D
Wow did you also buy a stainless steel Locust from Discount Dan? Yeah, my Locust's leg also rusted off. Must have been a bad batch. Discount Dan wouldn't have sold us fake stainless steel would he?
Would love to see you LRM boat a light mech. I know you are not a fan of LRM boating but its a good way to LRM boat without taking a ton of tonnage away from the team. I have had good luck LRM boating the Adder.
@@TheInsomniaddictI have tried that build. It is too underpowered to be worth it. The main issue I had was getting enough ammo on board. I have been away from the game for a while so I completely forgot about the Jenner IIC. That thing can be an absolute monstrosity as a LRM boat. I know LRM boating is often frowned upon but I still enjoy it. I try to avoid pulling tonnage from the fight to LRM boat though so I normally LRM boat with lights and mediums. Adder, Jenner, and Kintaro are some of my favorite boats.
A buddy of mine used to run a Piranha with 12 machine guns and a larger engine and called it a Hummingbird. That thing was a menace, I wonder if you can run that in MWO.
I run an adder W with 14 hvy mg and a heavy laser to poke while I wait for a chance to brawl, Its a lot of fun to white out someone's screen with a wall of lead, and if your team has stripped the armor off you get crits constantly
9:57 "It's a very slow paced game... other than me running around like crazy." That's cause you're in a Locust. If you aren't running around like crazy, you're probably dead.
BSPs you mean Beagle Active Probes? Worth it if running streaks, lrms, atms, or if you're a slower light hunter. BAPs can counter 1 ECM mech, meaning it can help you get support when you're being swarmed. Clan TComps are alright since they increase the chance to crit out enemies and increase ballistic speed/distance, plus give you better zoom. IS is harder to recommend since they give less benefits for the size, but since DHSes are bigger they can often be a good use of the final ton. My main Warhawk build is just 4xERPPC, a 6 ton (or around there) TComp, and the rest heatsinks. ERPPCs deal splash damage to nearby components, which can also crit. I've taken out both side torsos on an enemy mech a couple times by hitting their CTs. Extra speed/distance/view also helps with the Peeps.
Wich is to say exploiting/cheaters are driving me nuts with the "ESP" and getting cockpitt'd off the hip multiple times a day while running and twisting @ 110kph+.
You were the MVP in the first round really.
And almost 1st of his team in damage on that 2nd round. With a legged SRM2 locust

You can run this mech with 4x Rocket 20 and be an absolute menace to society.
Well, a menace to 2-4 mechs at least :D
It's sometimes a good trade to remove an assault
@@ctakitimuOh, for sure.
I didn't blink much during that first match!
Always have love for Locusts ! If you're feeling cheesy, add an LBX 2 to the Locust 1v ( with the 50% global cooldown quirk ) - Boom Boom!
armorless?
Pretty light on, but normally you're overlooked.
I think you mean the 3V? 1V has an Energy Cooldown of 50%
@@Artificer1911That's exactly it - the 3V. Too many critters in the garage to keep track of :)
I have been loving the LCT-1M with 2xMRM10's. I get plenty of range and still pack a punch.
I just came back to MWO and started by running a LCT-1E with 2SXPL and 2MPL. Locusts for life❤

I play this mech very often with the 4 srm 2 and 1 sxpl, extremely powerful

You may have Died, but you deterred the other light Max from Sabotaging the your big guys!!!
Also, over 700 damage from a Locust!!! Awesome!!!
Those nightvision battles were AMAZING looking!
I run a similar build with 2 MRM 10's. I appreciate the increased range for sniping and use it to peek rapidly.
I need to apologize Baradul. We were on the same team last night and I may or may not have accidentally shot your arm off when you were using your Crusader on Viridian Bog. 😅
I don't think Baradul has much room to be mad about team damage 😄
It happens sometimes when one is being aggressive.
@@Artificer1911 wdym Mr. "Sorry for the team damage" doesn't have much room to be mad about it? :D
Tbf, stuff happens, yeah.
I once accidentally alpah’d TTB in the back and killed him 😅😅😅

Live fast, blow up faster. Thanks for the video.
Oh ho ho! You weren't here for the old new Terra Therma, then the new new Terra Therma! I kinda miss the old new Terra Therma, just a bit.
When you wanted an SRM Catapult, but the store was only selling kiddy portions.
Amazing how much damage you can do with 4 SRM 2s.
I love the look of this build 🎉
I’m still a fan of the pirates bane but those srm2s look satisfying

Ayyy I'm in a Daily Dose!!!!...on the wrong side with my unskilled Bushwhacker
Baradul missed that chance to send airstrike when he was in the midst of the enemy but good play still

Cougars are great for it, too.
Tiny little heavy mechs.
Quad LRM5 locust could be hilarious.

How dare you stand where Flea stood.
I'm curious, what's your opinion on BSPs and TComps? I've been poking around and not seen many, if any, builds you run with either of them

How are you able to aim so well? I'm a new player, for me the leg rotation really screws me up
Same way you get to Carnegie Hall.
Practice.
Don't worry, you'll get there.
180 with an added flamer would be optimal for this fit.
First. To get the ball rolling.
Why does it feel like I have watched the second game before...
When I run laser boat , I get this map .
Notice you didnt comment on that "Timbies" title... Death Star....
Wich is to say exploiting/cheaters are driving me nuts with the "ESP" and getting cockpitt'd off the hip multiple times a day while running and twisting @ 110kph+.
Would a light mech with lots of flamers work?
Yes but no, it depends you Run into a laserboat? Absolutely, lrm boat absolutely anything Else, nope youre fraked
It's an idea.
Not really, flamers only work if you have other weapons to shoot the over heated mech
Flamers can be crippling against certain builds, but are not a viable primary weapon. They do basically no damage themselves
If you have a friend and aren't concerned with match score, certainly.
