There's a certain charm in these older games man.
Thought about playing some older games too, dont know why but they just kind of have more immersing atmosphere
Somehow, they do. As dated as they may look and play, they used to be way more immersive than modern titles. I don't know why, can't elaborate clearly on it.

Games now have less focus on physics and interacting with the environment. Also most games these days are built around a call of duty like control scheme when it comes to shooters.
This was the first game I owned for my PS3 and thought it was so damn cool. Tho I do recall being disappointed that the images on the box looked graphically better than the game itself lmao.
I remember playing it at Walmart on the console stands and thought it was cool as shit that the wind blew the grass down. Maybe that was GRAW 2.
Yea the graphics definetly sucked even for the time as several original Xbox games looked better.
That crap with the back of the box screenshots started with the ps360 gen. Eventually the games caught up later in the gen, for the most part.
I still have the disc case, and it's the same haha, my favorite war game is this without a doubt, good soundtrack, difficult if you put it on maximum difficulty, good plot, great game

Yep. They were "realistic" in terms of how grounded the graphics were. I thought these games were hardcore, lol. This was at the same time Gears of War was new, so compare and contrast.
I started playing it again last night just for the nostalgia feel!!
The multiplayer lobby music still lives in my head rent free.
GRAW and GRAW2 were pivotal games for me when they came out. I was in the Army at the time and was obsessed.
GRAW 2 with the homies on a map with 100+ NPCs to take out.
Those were the days!
I was always sad GRAW fell off after 2.
I remember starting future soldier when it came out and saying 'what the fuck is this', got the ubisoft treatment.

Scott Mitchell will always be the main character of Ghost Recon for me. Even with all the time I've invested in Wildlands and Breakpoint, Nomad is still second best.
2000’s was the best for gaming. At least we have the Splinter Cell remake but man it’d be awesome to have all the classic GR’s get remakes. Like the old school Island Thunder
I'll be honest, I don't know what copium you're taking to still believe in the SC remake, but I want some
SC remake is never happening. Kotor will happen before we ever see that game

the originals were 1st person and so different than anything out there. when they switched to 3rd person i had my doubts, but they pulled it off

This game was so different from the PC version. PC version was a hardcore tactical first person shooter. Console version was a third person cod game lol
Ohhh man, its 2023 and I haven't seen weapons or gears like that yet if only I could tell my younger self about this lol
I loved this game. I played this over cod back in the day cause it felt like the players in multiplayer were friendlier and a lot more tactical and would callout the enemies and stuff. Cod was all about getting the most kills and having a high K/D. GRAW was all about teamwork.
The co op missions were amazing cant tell how many hor i invested into it

I’m replaying ghost recon 2 on my psp. The graphics made me laugh coming back. I was like this is not how I remembered the graphics looking like back then 😂 but the game entertains and that was its purpose at the time. I felt like it’s time to go back to some classic childhood games

This was a great game and had some limited coop (rare back then) if iirc? It was also a VERY different game on PC. Future Soldier was good too, but i was really hoping for a different sequel to GR2. Oh! And Rainbow six Vegas!

You should check out the PC versions for both 1 and 2. Both were first person and played more tactically rather than the arcadey gameplay of the console versions. Also, the campaign is different from what I've seen of the console versions.

PC versions were frankly, dogshit. None of the scope or quality.

Splitscreen coop is the best but I don’t think this has split screen coop story campaign. There’s so side missions but for campaign split screen rainbow six vegas 2 is the best game ever
