As many times as you mentioned heather leaving, shows how deeply you 2 love and admire each other. That’s the best message of the story. Congratulations you all deserve the best and thank you
Sounds like a great company to deal with. You guys put in sweat equity and camped out at his place. Top notch work as well. Great truck and have fun either way your interior.
Allan was an absolute pleasure to work with. We now consider him a true friend, and have been back to his place multiple times since our build. Would recommend 100%. We hope to have an interior tour out soon!
WOW!!! We've been working on our LMTV Overlander for years :).... but kids, business, money, age - things sometimes just take longer. Great job and nice video. Blessings & Happy Tracking :)
Thank you so much! everyone is on their own timeline and is making it happen in the way that works best for them! That's what makes this community so awesome :)
@Hughes, 2003, after a devastating diagnosis, we built our ExpeditionVehicle on a 1996 Ford CF8000 commercial truck. Cummins 8.3 mechanical (zero computers), Allison 3060 automatic. Within a week -- while selling everything -- we completed our conversion and hit the road from Oregon with the vague goal of 'south'. . Twenty-four months twenty-four thousand miles around South America. Alaska, Panama, all over North and Central America. Summers up rough logger tracks to remote mountain lakes. Winters on isolated Baja beaches. Over two decades full-time live-aboard. And none of our caravan chums have factory RecreateVehicles.
That was great preparation & swift execution to accomplish a really cool build! We’ve just subscribed & we are looking forward to watching more of your videos! Thank you!
Fantastic build. Would you guys be willing to make a video to share the costs associated with the build? Particularly the habitat box and sub frame. Have a blast!
I've spend hour, weeks and month planning the passthrough. Then came to the understanding the main use case voids the complex way it is built. For me the main use case is emergency climbing into the cab and driving away. I've heard some other owners complain about the connection allows a noisy travel that does not have to be. So I decide now since the rear of the cab and the habitat box is 2-3 inches apart, I would not need a bridge for that space, rather just install a correctly built door in each the rear of the cab, as well as the habitat wall. Allow the habitat door opens from inside the habitat, then faced with a tambour door in the rear of the cab can be opened from that view when the habitat door is open.
Excellent job guys! Can you provide details on the passthrough? I am planning a build and having a hard time getting my head around a good passthrough setup considering the cab has to lift to service the engine. I want a good passthrough as i have a 2 year old daughter that will need to be in a car seat in the living area so I hope you can help!!! Thanks in advance!
Hi! essentially we have a rubber "boot" that attaches to the passthrough on both sides. Its permanently attached to the opening on the box, and then has a metal frame that sits in the opening on the cab end. That side is attached with clips that flip open to allow us to detach it when we need to lift the cab. Hard to explain, so i hope that makes sense!
It sucks, Americans only get two weeks vacation. Yikes. That is an epic undertaking in that time frame, well done guys. Thank you for sharing your content.
Thanks. We’re away from the truck right now, but essentially we built the bike tray, put the bikes on, and then measured it. The height is just an inch above the highest point on the bike.
This is an awesome build good job. Where did you get the composite panels i am trying to find a source for them i am interested in building a vehicle myself
Always more fun to build! We have 2 24 inch boxes and one 48 inch I think. 37 inch tires on 17 inch rims. We have another video describing wheels and tires and suspension too!
Ok just started the video, my first dumb question, did you consider using a used commercial reefer box rather than build from the frame rails up yourself? Just seems it would be easier to use a commercial structure as the starting point???
@@HD.Adventuring Yes the weight issue I can certainly see being big difference for sure, and being "Exactly what we wanted" is priceless, enjoy the journey, I'll tag along and watch!!
Alan was super cool helping me out with questions for my Isuzu build. Mainly part sourcing for in the US. Fun to see him work with you guys. Few questions. Do you have more details on the AC unit and solar needed, entry ladder, and glue used for interior. Thanks
He’s a legend!! We used a Pioneer AC like this one: amzn.to/3Vl3cK0 and our 1200 watts of solar do a good enough job at powering it for a few hours a day when the sun is out! Allan built the stairs- they slide out and then fold down. For glue we used Sikaflex
What an amazing work, great job! In 2 weeks you accomplished more than most people in months
Thanks so much! It’s amazing what a few people can get done working together!

Aww, thanks for such a sweet comment. We're a team, and couldn't do it without eachother.
You know your dog thinks he/she is the star of the show right? Don’t blow it, just be grateful that you guys are included!😊

Wow! I'm one year into my build and half way through only. Impressive!
Well we had a lot of help! Good luck on your build!

wow, so cool! can't wait to do something like this. What an inspiration!
Thanks! Make it happen!
Epic build! No expense was spared; looks like a really quality tiny home on wheels.
Thanks! We did have a budget, but also wanted to do things the right way. It’s been working great for us so far!
Just discovered your channel, great work guys.
Looking forward to your future adventures. Cheers

@@HD.Adventuring I second this suggestion! We are looking into doing something similar to you guys and would love an estimate on your build price.
I third this!
Well done, good job 👏 👍
Thank you! Stay tuned for the interior.

That's a super good idea. If I were doing it again, I am not even sure if I would install a passthrough!
Super cool! Congratulations, really great job 🎉👍 tell me please where a you bye fibreglass panels?
Thanks! We bought the panels from Allan at Overlander Global- Similar panels can be purchases from Total Composites or RV Globetrekker.
Very Cool !!
Thank you!!

It is a shame Americans get so little vacation. That's why we recently quit our jobs😀Thanks for the kind words!
what glue product are ye using ? love your video....
Thanks! We used Sikaflex 252
super cool build! can I ask what height you used for your bike door opening?
Thanks. We’re away from the truck right now, but essentially we built the bike tray, put the bikes on, and then measured it. The height is just an inch above the highest point on the bike.
@@HD.Adventuring that helps thank you!
Great build and awesome company. May I ask what glue you used for the solar panels and roof pass-through? Thank you.
Thanks! We used sikaflex 252
This is an awesome build good job. Where did you get the composite panels i am trying to find a source for them i am interested in building a vehicle myself
Thank you! I suggest looking into total composites or globe trekker to help with panels
Gday, is there somewhere I can find more info on the foam panels you used?
Our build partner, Overlander Global sourced the Panels.
I'm building too! What is the dimensions of your storage boxes? And how tall are your tires?
Always more fun to build! We have 2 24 inch boxes and one 48 inch I think. 37 inch tires on 17 inch rims. We have another video describing wheels and tires and suspension too!
is this truck 4wd?
It is! Factory 4x4 was one of the big reasons we went with the Fuso platform.
Ok just started the video, my first dumb question, did you consider using a used commercial reefer box rather than build from the frame rails up yourself? Just seems it would be easier to use a commercial structure as the starting point???
Lots of reasons. Weight, customizability, durability for off road. Reefer boxes are cool, but this is exactly what we wanted.
@@HD.Adventuring Yes the weight issue I can certainly see being big difference for sure, and being "Exactly what we wanted" is priceless, enjoy the journey, I'll tag along and watch!!
Do you mind telling me what glue you used to stick the box together?
Sure, we used sikaflex 252.
Hi there. how much this garage build cost you?
Hey! We're going to shoot a video on the cost of our build soon!
👍
We just posted a FULL tour of our truck, check it out! ua-cam.com/video/68K42pHdwW4/v-deo.html&ab_channel=HD.Adventuring
