- THE EWES HAVE STARTED LAMBING!!!
But, they aren't due for another 7-8 days. Which means, I too, am not ready!
However, I work quick to get back into the motions of lambing season, and all day Monday worked on this decent sized premature lamb.
However, two more ewes decided they too wanted to lamb early... those ones didn't turn out well.
So, just like that...
Summer Lambing 2020 has BEGUN!
Enjoy the ride!

Jess is a really great worker. She is an inspiration to us all.
Sandi, Perhaps the first lamb came early Because the other twin died? Glad to see he is up and nursing on his own. Goes to show the extra care IS worth it! Cute little lamb. :) Happy Friday!
She's such a good mama! Vigorously licking her baby, pawing at it to get up, and demanding it back when you take it to get it recorded.
right? so cute! what a good mama
besame cuh Pre-historic instincts.
I love the way that little lamb's tail was doing a " helicopter" move while he was drinking milk, lol
That’s showing he’s actually getting milk
Ike I don’t know why, but I have goats and they always wag their tails when nursing. Same goes for lambs I guess lol
Yeeter McSkeeter Yeah, it’s just showing that they are actually getting milk and not just sucking with nothing coming out
I always wondered how you recorded the still borns, and now I know. It's a brilliant program you have there with ghallager, very well informed and organised. This is a very informative video Sandi. thanks for sharing it with us.
My days are complete, with Sandi and her Sheep!!!
Thank you for keeping me entertained as I recover from heart surgery. Hope you aren’t too over whelmed and stressed. Hope y’all are doing well! Your content is awesome!
Pray you are doing well !
Hope your doing well from your surgery. Had quad myself 4 years ago. The constipation from meds was far worse then the operation! 😘
Better early then mama being almost 3 weeks LATE (rolling eyes sideways) we have one that delivered late way late. Got surprise in the morning coming out and there is 2 lambies with a very deflated mama. They were huge 12 &13 pounders.
My eyes are watering in sympathy.
That mama sheep just looks so soft and huggable with its sheared wool and those big eyes. Sheep are adorable
I'm so sorry at the loss your your dog Duke, it sounds like he was loved so much. Ahh that lamb is so cute. It also shows how much you care for your animals. I've seen you in tears or near to tears when you lose an animal that you've tried so hard to keep well. 💐💐💐
That lambs cute and it's mum is a good 😊 girl
Teresa Brewer I have 3 new videos on UA-cam called clever Samantha and peppermint have had all the wool sheared off prt1 and prt2 and prt3
So very sorry for Duke's passing! He's up in Heaven with my Lucille!
So glad to see Billyboys ! 💙💙 He's matured and so handsome ! So sorry for the first losses of babies . The live baby is huge ! I hope his breathing is ok. It's such hard work what you do Sandi but you have such passion and dedication and it's to be admired. 💗👍 Wondering if you're going to keep Kobe first born, Rusty and sibling and Ruby Sue ?
Ready or not here they come! 🙂 Sorry for the stillbirths & hope the ewe with the retained placenta does well since you got her on meds right away. Awesome that Betty can see, again! Glad the first ram lamb perked up. Hope all goes well for the rest of this lambing.
You could name the little one _Presto_ which is Italian for _early._ Just a thought...
That's a really good lovely name. Presto
Presto presto do your very besto.....doodoo
You're correct about the skin bouncing back. It was one thing we were taught when checking on patients. If you think they're dehydrated, pinch the skin. If it bounces back, they are. If it doesn't, they need fluid STAT.
Aww that mama wanted her baby back she is such a great mama and cant wait to see more babies yay😁♥️
That first mom really wanted her baby back!
So cute and it's pretty big for a week early. I love these unexpected ones!
Yes the sheep are good girls cute sheep
I have 3 new videos on UA-cam called clever Samantha and peppermint have had all the wool sheared off prt1 and prt2 and prt3
Srly getting 'lambing ptsd' watching the first half of this 😆. All my lambs were like this- dead or not nursing/slow starters. Im a first timer so I allowed myself patience and forgiveness. Honestly though, your videos helped me out of some wicked jams!! My first was born breeched. Im like, "okay, I've seen Sandy do this! I can do this!" So you've helped lambs you've never even met! 🤗
That mom is a good mom for being a first timer
Every time you name a lamb I wonder if you intend to keep them. E.G. Rusty and Ruby ☺️
That Gallagher system is just great! What a great way to easily keep the important information.
Sandi: "A week until lambing starts. *A week.* "
Sheep: "...Ok...listen..."
Awwwww ! so Beautiful ! Thank you for sharing with us all, I just can't get enough of all the sheep and lambs. Your smile just lights up the screen, who could have a bad day after you smile at them. Hugs and Much Love P.S so sorry about your pup,I just lost my 16 year old baby girl. ( My fur baby ) I know it is a sad time for you and your Beautiful Family. Sending many Blessings!!
Awww.....so glad to see Billy, Ruby, and Rusty!!!
When ewes retain placenta, I'd recommend giving oxytocin. As well you can put a weight on the placenta, just wrap the stringy bits hanging out her vulva around a rod and tie with twine.Leaving it dangling about about 6" to 8" from the vulva, that helps draw the placenta out. As the placenta starts to ease out, just wrap up around the rod to keep the rod well above the hocks. If you're keeping replacement ewe lambs would recommend tagging (rams right ear ) (ewes left ear) then easy to tell who's who at a glance.
Your so good with your animals... they trust you... for the mommas you let you handle their babies without any concern shows how they trust you... your a good farmer ❤️
Or...they know they don't have a choice...
That has to be one of the calmest ewes with all the work you did around her 👍
I love how much love is on your face for these sweet creatures
Maybe because it is the first lamb born alive, it is extra precious.
The stunned look on that ewe's face at the beginning of the video just says it all. If it was one ewe, I would chalk it up to just one of those things. But two or more would have me begin to wonder if there's a uterine infection in the flock.
Are you going to be keeping Rusty and Ruby Sue? I love watching your videos!
Thank you for making your videos, even on your hard days. I enjoy your animals and seeing how real you are. Love from California!
We're leaving for vacation. So I get to sit in my Lazy boy and cry when each baby arrives! Perfect timing! God speed, Sandi!!
I guess one lamb arriving early gets you to prepare all of your stuff for the rest. Hopefully all of the rest of the ewes will wait until they are due, and you are ready. Good luck with this next group Sandi, they are lucky to be born into your farm. ❤️👍🐑
Love watching you work with the new lambs. You are so patient with mama and baby. God bless you from Michigan
#1mom was trying to bite through the fence for her baby, what a good mom !
This group at the end can you do how many girls how many boys end up with
My cousins have a sheep farm and I’m going this summer during lambing and I’m so excited because I’ve watched you for about a year and your one of my favorite channels 😊
I have sheep on UA-cam and I have 4 new videos on UA-cam called clever Samantha and peppermint have had all their wool sheared off prt1 prt2 prt3 and prt4
Hope everything goes good now ( BABIES) yeah I’m so excited again that momma says my baby wow never seen one this possessive it’s really strange is it because it a new ewe? God I love this this world is so messed up this is beautiful warms my heart
There so cute mom standing between you and her baby. Billy is like a curly haired elvis.
Just starting watching your videos and have to say you are one hardworking woman!!! I am amazed at how you manage all the ewes , lambs, medicines-- Wow! Kudos to you. I love watching the lambs.
I can’t believe how big that early lamb is I’d have thought it would have been tiny, I’m really glad it’s that time again but hope they wait till due for you. Good look for the next few weeks.. can’t believe it’s the second lambing in lockdown....
I know you werent ready and this messes with your schedule. For those of us not having to do the work, we are so excited. So i have mixed feelings. Im sorry for your stress and also excited and happy. Thank for sharing despite the stress.
Hey 😍 4.10am here in New Zealand . Love to see those babies.
God mom traits, she is taking care of him. I love how their tail wiggles when they latch on to mom! So cute! Plus it helps you know when they actually latched on. I miss having lambs around. Good luck in the coming weeks!
sorry my english is rusty i use translator almost everything i forgot i love watching your videos i like you have sheep and not cattle
I know EXACTLY how you feel. We started off calving this year with a bunch of preemie calves. Most of them survived but they were real small and weak. Always so discouraging.
Jess is a cute little rock star! No one will be calling her a whimp.
So nice to have joy and your smile to watch on here ! Thanks
Wife and I found your channel a week or so ago expecting lambs in about 3 weeks. Great info, gives us some comfort going into this season. Thank you
I am following you from Palestine.🇵🇸🇺🇸
That ewe is a good mother. Very concerned.
Sandy, don't be discouraged. The first ones were troublesome last lambing too, remember
I saw that green hitch pin that ya stole 😂 Sorry about the still born babes & the loss of your dog Sandi. Can't believe it's lambing time again?!!
Sandi: I don't know about sheep, but when I was young on the farm, Dad used to be sure that a heifer's first calf was bred by a smaller bull to minimize her first time calving problems and I know we had very few first time calving issues. Could this possibly work for your first timers? Are there smaller rams?
Mommy was sure doing all she could! Poor little crittur!
Hi Sandi!
Love your vids❤❤❤
Omg first baby lamb awww so cute so and beautiful cant wait to see the rest fingers crossed we get some baby billys thank you for sharing with us really enjoy watching your videos please keep them coming looking forward to the next vid love you guys god bless take care.
He may not be 100% right, but be is 100% adorable!
Hi Billy... Sandi you will do fine your a great farmer and lamb foster mom.
Did anyone else see that big lamb still trying to nurse on Mom 3:33. OMGoodness Mom!
I love drive-thrus it gives you and your your partner or your buddy just so few more minutes of alone time you know
Billy got so big- I would love to have his fleece to spin!! 😍😁🤗💗🌷
The wool has little value (less than the cost of shearing), so the shearer takes it away, it seems
Praying for another successful lambing for you ❤ sorry for the minor setbacks Sandi but it will all work out in the long run.
So happy to see the first lamb of the year doing so well, even tho he was born early.. He's sooooo adorable!!
I know that the love you have for your babies helps them to thrive and grow..
Keep being the Amazing person that you are and sharing your videos!!
I love watching them and am looking forward to watching these lambs grow too, it keeps this lady's heart so happy ❤
Hugs love n prayers to you and your family from the USA 🇺🇸
Congratulations Sandi !! And good luck with this new lambing season and hope the weather stays at a reasonable temperature for your Flock, and not get the extremes like here in Aussie Land !!
At least they are not sending their live lambs half way round the world to boil alive crammed into unsheltered 50 degree container ships
@@pigeonlove..... Appreciate your comment , but I think you need to get your FACTS correct and comment about something that you may have some KNOWLEDGE about, and not try to spread vicious rumours about something that apparently you have very little knowledge about.
And also use a proper channel to spruik you opinion, and not try to commandeer somebody else's channel to voice your FALSE NEWS !!
You are Amazing. Watched all of your videos.
Lambs is exactly what we all need right now lol!!! Instant happiness
It's gone so quick, I'm still getting over the last lambing ending lol sad to see you loose a couple already, keep up the good work Sandi, we love you x
Yay!! Best notification I’ve received all day was this!! 😍😍
I've never been this early, lol. Yay babies!
Wow Sandi getting ready to get wide open on laming dont seem like it's been that long lol time flys when having FUN huh lmbo ! Yal be safe ! Daniel from central Mississippi
Didn't get the memo!!!! Omg that had me in stitches!!!
Always enjoy ur vlogs. Learned how tail docking is done in lambs. Worked in small animal hospitals 4 years. Wish it was like that 4 puppies. 🙂
Billy is looking so big!
Im actually early? liked before I watched. Hope all is well we have been so busy on the farm!
I think the HEAT 🥵 GOT to the young ewes.
That little preemie has the most adorable knees.🥰🥰
Sandi, Billy is just an amazing animal. He has just an amazing personality. So glad Betty is better.
The little tail is adorable and it makes me wanna be a farmer just have moments with babies and other reason too but the little tail helicopter
Just a thought re the Gallagher. Is there an updated manual for the program that details all of the features/sections both in written and visual formats?
Or now you are more experienced you could book another session with the local company rep to explore more features of the program? Seems like an ideal PD meeting during the cold winter months to me. As I said just a thought. Gallagher may have training online as well.
Sandi - when a lamb is looking at the teat, but keeps missing it - do you ever wonder if they are actually blind? I swear I do wonder!
That ewe lamb with her early baby is a naturally great mother. She delivered early and on her own and had a dry lamb when you came in. (Surprise! One week early!) With you in the pen, she stood patiently as long as needed while her lamb tried to nurse. She waited patiently while you bottle fed her lamb. And she objected to you taking her lamb out of her reach for any reason. All good behaviors for a first time mom! I know she lost one and others miscarried - but as they are all first time moms - isn't a little of that to be expected? Don't assume the worst until you have evidence that it is indeed a concern - you have enough to worry about.
Hope Jess is doing ok.
i thought the same thing! It also doesnt seem to be 'looking' at things as much as I've seen other lambs do.
Lambs are just like human babies. They don’t have fully developed vision when they’re first born. They see shapes and shades, but not complete images or the full spectrum of colour that sheep are capable of. Newborns are attracted to large, dark shapes, not their mothers specifically, and they find the teat for the first time entirely by touch and instinct.
You also have to remember that there’s a blind spot directly in front of their faces.
So so cute baby lambs
Yes they’re cute baby lambs and the sheep are good girls cute sheep
Hi Sandi! Good video as always. I love the smile on your face when you see your new little babies, early or not. Your "worry" is called concern, and it's the right way to go. Thanks again for the video!
That is a nice looking baby lamb you have and you have to get ready to start feeding the babies and that one is just the beginning. I am sorry to hear that the mother had a still born lamb which didn't survive, but that is life and we have to learn to deal with it.
Sandi, I like your interest even helping sheep in the lambs feeding! this is good.
Mom is being very patient and wonderful. She is doing her absolute best. Where is the lamb that was born solid black? Thanks for the updates!
I know nothing about premature lambs, but with premature infants one of the common issues is lung development. When babies arrive early, their lungs sometimes don't produce enough surfactant to let their lung tissues inflate and let them breathe. That lamb's delayed slow confused behavior would make sense for oxygen deficient behavior.
I’m a neonatal RN. Agree 100% with you.
tysm for the adventure on ur farm. I look forward to them.
Congrats! Praying for a good season!
So exciting that its time for lambs again! Hope the rest of the group does well for you!
Hello sandi I watch all your video it was beautiful video to watch you are very nice lady and you have very soft Hart that why you very successful with this animal especially thelamb and the mother's and please don't listen to the negative people please and you doing very will believe me iam australian Lebanese and iam leaving in australia I which iam leaving in Canada to join you some time for helping you I love what you doing and your husband his very gentle and respect full I wish you and your family all the best And keep going forward all the time don't look back wood and don't listen to the negative people please thanks best wishes abdul m ELMIR
Don't forget to set up sprinklers for the garden. Some stuff dries out really quickly. My Grandpa always said that if you put a tin plate out , when there is an inch of water in it, your garden has had enough to drink. So much easier when it just rains lol
I hope things go good for you this time. I am glad to see the little one up and drinking. Mom seems like a good one.I love Billy
Rusty is an incredibly beautiful lamb
I love watching your Vlog. I get so much enjoyment watching the lambing season. Thank you so much for sharing. Love E
Isn't this the group that had a bad scan? Hope things go well for you Sandi.
Everyone say hello to the ewe who ain't camera shy
I absolutely love all the ewes and all the new babies that you're going to have. It's sad when they abort or have them stillborn .But a happy note is that all the lil ones playing and running back and forth it's worth the wait for all the days and weeks watching them grow up.Sire Billy is looking very handsome as always.
I’m so glad that your little lamb looks great! I hope it doesn’t get to hot for y’all! Were in Oklahoma and it is sooo hot here!! I feel your pain! 🥵🥵🥵. Stay cool! Kristin from Oklahoma 💗💗💗
This reminds me of “Little Bo-Peep” & “Mary Had a Little Lamb” from Nursery Rhymes (1983)
I couldn't be more happy rn💖
