- Hey guys!
In this video I show the construction of a utility knife in the feather pattern, with a merino sheep horn handle.
I didn't record the forging of this piece because I hadn't started the channel when I started it. If you are interested in watching the feather pattern forging, you can watch the following video:

This piece has a special meaning because it was made precisely for a friend who raises merino sheep.
Between the merino splints I used a stainless steel plate, in order to avoid oxidation due to the sweat of the hands.
At the end of the video when I test the knife there is a destroyed place in the background. It was a lumber yard that was consumed by fire five days ago, and I made it appear on the tape to record the date somehow. In the last video I posted she was still there. Incredibly, there are still embers even after five days and a little rain, you can see the smoke in the rubble.

Trago neste vídeo a construção de uma faca utilitária no padrão pluma, com empunhadura em chifre de carneiro merino.

Essa peça tem significado especial por ter sido feita justamente para um amigo criador de carneiros merino.
Entre as talas de merino usei uma chapa de aço inox, a fim de evitar a oxidação pelo suor das mãos.
No final do vídeo quando testo a faca tem um lugar destruído ao fundo. Era uma madeireira que foi consumida por um incêndio cinco dias atrás, e fiz com que aparecesse na gravação para registrar a data de alguma forma. No último vídeo que postei ela ainda estava lá. Por incrível que pareça ainda há brasas mesmo depois de cinco dias e um pouco de chuva, pode-se reparar a fumaça nos escombros. - Розваги

Beautiful. I have a question. Why the extra trouble of a steel skeleton for a hidden tang when the knife could have just been a full tang?

Thank you very much! I had already forged this piece before my friend asked for the knife. He saw it in my workshop and liked it, but he wanted the handle to be made of merino horn, because he is a breeder and that would be important to him. As the scales I had were too thin to handle with a hidden tang I thought it was a good idea to use this frame.

Why a frame handle instead of a full tang?

I already had the knife forged, and my friend wanted me to make the handle out of merino scales. As the splints I had were too narrow to make the entire handle, I had the idea of mounting them with this frame. Thank you! 😁
