A quick hack for panel painters, soda-pop tabs make great little hooks. Just find your center and hot glue on! I have also glued two into corners or outer edges and ran a string line. Obviously not professional looking. But great for personal use and kids crafts. Plus it's a great upcycle!
I'm just learning how to paint and the canvas board is perfect for my purpose right now. I don't have a ton of space, so I can just stack n store. I also used real canvas but I felt the canvas board is good enough to get a feel of the texture and improve. When painting on canvas I always feel like I'm pressured to produce something great, with the boards I just throw it on the stack and don't give it a second thought. If it's nice I can still go ahead and frame it. Thanks for the video, have a great day! :)
You know, I’ve never thought about that but I feel that pressure as well to make sure that the painting on canvas turns out great! Thanks for bringing that up, I guess I feel that way because I can’t just ball it up and throw it away. I’m not sure why I feel that way. I really like your perspective on canvas boards! I’m so glad you enjoyed the video:) I hope you have a wonderful day too 🙌🏻🙌🏻
SO HELPFUL!!! I had just started to look a canvas board also but I really do like stretched canvas. I wet the back of it as it helps with my style of painting to blend by keeping the paint from drying too fast. I know I could use a wet wash type coating but why pay for more than water....... I'm cheap😁 no.... I'm frugal...yeah that's it. Love the video, so now to listen to you sing.
I had no idea you could wet the back to keep the paint wet for longer! Whaaaaat? How cool! I gotta try that next time because I’m all about blending but I feel like I have to rush to get it done. So cool! LOL I say that all the time, I’m just frugal 🤣🤣🤣 thank you!!
Canvas panels can be lots easier and cheaper to frame....to buy a frame deep enough to hold the thickness of a stretched canvas can sometimes cost lots of money....canvas panels can go into just about any frame that you see.or can order online, Also you can often find great frames at thrift store and garage sales for cheap prices for your canvas panel paintings. That is one thing I really like about the canvas panels. I have painted on both, and yes, the stretched canvases are not easy to keep other than hanging on a wall. I have nothing against stretched canvas though.
Amen to that, I absolutely agree with getting cheap frames for canvas panels at thrift stores. You can find some seriously awesome frames there and they work perfectly. I do like that about the canvas panels is they seem more practical to me. I'm a hurricane most days and so if I knock one off the wall it doesn't seem to hurt it. Whereas, if that happened to a stretched canvas, who knows what would happen. Thanks for your thoughtful comment, such a great point to bring up!
I've only been painting for two months, but so far I prefer painting on canvas boards. I don't like the bounce I feel from the stretched canvas, which to me is unsteady. I guess it's because I'm used to drawing and I like a steady hand. I am concerned about the canvas boards warping though. That would be terrible! Thank you for sharing this video discussing the pros and cons of each one.:)
I understand that for sure, it’s sort of unsettling when the canvas bounces. Especially if you are working on something with sharp edges abs lines. I know! I wonder if a frame would help out with that. Like maybe right after it dries, put it in a frame? Idk just a thought! I’m so glad you enjoyed my video and that it helped you! Let me know if you have any other questions along your artistic journey!
Hello Kelsie Marie. I already have the sizes that i want for my canvas panels and all i need to do is wright down the sizes and look for Pack deals on these size canvas boards or check art stores in my area for package deals😁👋🏾👍🏾 i am so exided to draw and paint on canvas panels or boards 👍🏾👋🏾😁
I have a lot of hacks and painting hacks, but I never make a video. One hack I have that remove the canvas from the frame and with wood glue stick the board canvas to the frame. No hassle to hang..
Hello Kelsie Marie. Painted on canvas panels and i love it. I love painting on canvas panels. I got little one,s at my buget store called Action. I payed 3 euro,s per canvas i love painting on canvas panels i don,t wanna say better than canvasses but i work from my bedroom in my parents house so i can store them easyer than canvasses. I love this video of you. Hope you,re doing allright 👍🏾👋🏾😁

So one of my canvas boards has warped slightly, but not enough to where it’s an issue for me I guess. Because if I stuck it in a frame it’s not warped enough to where it wouldn’t fit you know? I would say it’s warped...maybe like an 1/8th of an inch haha
Hi! Well if I remember correctly, I got mine from hobby lobby and they were Masters Touch! And they worked perfectly! So I’m not sure about amazons 🤔🤔🤔
Awesome artwork kelsie!🔥 Personally i like the stretched canvas more than canvas board. I like the bouncing feeling when painting, and the texture seems better on it. Or maybe it depends on the brand as well i dont know 😅
Hey! Good to hear from you! Oh gotcha, that totally makes sense. I agree I'm a fan of how bouncy it is for sure. I also feel like I'm painting something super important when I paint on stretched canvas for some reason haha
So, I personally would recommend the canvas panel because it has less texture than an actual stretched canvas. I just finished a painting on canvas paper and it was really hard to get clean lines because it has so many indents and lines. My canvas panel didn't have as many wrinkles and things so I would suggest that would be better!
Unfortunately I’ve never done oil painting, but I’ve always wanted to try it! I’ve always seen it done on a really canvas. I might have to get back with you on that one because I might try it with you!
@@TheKayPitt Its specifically for acrylic, very clear not like the canned stuff from hardware store, that stuff yellows! No brand name but art supply store etc. carry it!😎

Are canvasses panels or board cheaper than linnen Canvasses? I don,t know😂
Wht about texture..which one is more perfect for creating a textured background??
