How Your Creative Side can THRIVE as a mom 🌸
#momlife #creativemom #paintingtips
Phew, being a mom is tough. It’s hard enough keeping a mini human alive, let alone trying to fit bits of pieces of yourself back into your daily life.
If you are a new mom and a painter who wants to dive back into being creative, I hope this video will help you get some ideas as to how you can make it work!
It’s a beautiful thing to give your everything to make sure your kiddo thrives. But the mother-child relationship is a two way street. You also have needs, mom, and those include your creative needs.
Sure you might think that the only ‘needs’ you have are biological (food, water, sleep), but the fact of the matter is that you also need to be able to express yourself through creativity to keep your mental state healthy and to keep showing up for your kiddo 🥰
Not to mention, kiddos also benefit from the creative expressions of their parents. They live in a home full of color and artwork on the walls. They hear beautiful music in the background and fall asleep listening to you read them the classics (The strange case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde anyone? 🤣).
I would argue that being creative is a need and it may take a while for you to get back to your flow of being creative (it took me SO LONG), but it’s worth fighting for. It’s worth making time for. Don’t let those negative voices tell you that you are being selfish.
If you were a creative person before becoming a mom, maybe this is the season where you bring that back into your life. And who knows, the spark you are reigniting may be the brightest that it’s ever been now that you are a mother.
Enjoy!
Also I love the fact that I totally forgot to mention on this video what my new huge project is. I will attempt to remember in the next video LOL #mombrain 🤣🤣

Your story sounds so much like mine. I adopted an older stray chihuahua and turned out to have heartworm. What frightened me was that the vet said there would be a 20% chance that the treatment might kill him. But after much prayer and observing how the slow treatment wasn't letting him have a quality of life I decided to go for the injection. I'm about to drop him off at the vet today for his first treatment. Thank you for the info. My vet didn't even bother explaining any of those things to me except for giving me a brochure to read about it. Please pray that it all goes well for the little guy. His name is Sid. 🙏

Lots of LOLZ and <3 from this Christian Artist and Mom of 3 + Grammy of 10. I agreed with everything you said and also had 2 thoughts. 1. Re: Brains ... supposedly we moms all got extra IQ points when our babes were born; personally, I think they went into directing half of the rest into keeping those helpless little gifts alive and thriving, so yeah. Mom Brain is real. 2. The messy middle ... everything you said about your paintings is true also of your offspring and, well, everyone. I think I need to take this thought to prayer today. "Lord, thank you for this reminder that I too am still in the messy middle. Please grant me the graces I need to keep forgiving myself for not being the perfect reflection of You that I desire to become."

From my perspective, go as far as you can with protection as within reason. Since I personally rather buy 1 respiratory for my multi use of what I would do (car brake service, house work, Gundam model spray paints, dust, attic environment), I would go for a respiratory half mask (any in the link I post will work with the cartridges i.e. 5000, 6000, 7000 series). For Particulates, always go for "P100" (Pink color) which is the best one for nonoil/oil based particulates. For Vapor, I currently have one that has Acid Gas/Organic vapor (yellow stripe; 60923). I put that cartridge in a zip lock bag to prolong life when not in use. Going by the guide I posted in the link, I would say most people should just get 60926 for Multi-gas use which covers everything that 60923 does (OV/AG/P100). 60926 is 60923 + ammonia and formaldehyde. 60928 is 60923 + Methylbromide/Radioiodine protection us.amazon.com/stores/page/89CC8093-3140-43FB-A846-2F7D3649C4AB?ingress=0&visitId=8195f3c7-4460-4c01-8a27-ac5822bfab95 Make sure you get Legit 3m and not cheaper copies on Amazon just to rule out any doubts.

So i told it much better earlier but basically I have had bad nausea that makes me pass out, i was told i have cancer, H PYLORI, and a heart attack. All negative. We still don't know what is wrong but i am on meds so im not as nauseous and I'm not passing out. Plus Kim is lead singer in a hard rock band thats family friendly and i an technical effects supervisor, i make the stuff smoke and boom. All the years playing with fire as a kid paid off. So my story i told earlier that didn't post is now told quickly. Its awesome to see you again. I look forward to more from you.

Doxycycline is to kill the wolbachia organism (bacteria) which the adult heartworms depend on and vice versa in symbiotic way. One month of that weakens the heartworms. This makes the worms shrivel up in mass also. Then the injections kill the worms. By pre-treating with doxycycline you are minimizing the pathology or disease versus the shots alone which can leave devastating disease conditions in the heart and lungs of the infected dog.

  • @Ofncc24
    @Ofncc24 2 місяці тому

Slow kill is 30 days of doxycycline . Then advantage multi which has moxidectin in it that kills microfilarea ( babies) and adult. Cheap and simple. All through the southern states, they do this . Doxy moxy is the way to go. $98 exam, $ 20 for doxycycline and $130.00 for 6 months of advantage multi which we will keep our dog on. No activity restrictions. Had been on Heart guard and being on that they are seeing that the heartworms are becoming resistant.

Well, good (cotton) watercolor paper will be able to handle countless washes of very wet paint, essentially pools and puddles of water, but keeping it flat is almost an art form in itself. Unless properly stretched or mounted, it will always end up warping or buckling. You can still save it by flattening it: Make the back damp, then sandwich between sheets of paper, put a flat water resistant surface on top and weigh down with books. Let it dry overnight and it will be flat. But check if it's really dry, or the last bit of moisture will make it warp again will drying outside of the press. Just replace the sheets of paper and let it dry further. Alternatively, since it's cotton, you can iron it. Use a hard, heat resistant! surface underneath, not a soft ironing board. The paper can handle moderate heat just fine, but go easy and don't use steam as that might be too much for the acrylic paint - it is plastic after all. But I would recommend stretching the paper beforehand to save yourself the headache. There's lot's of methods explained on the Tubes of You, and they all claim to work, but they lie. Look them up and use the staples on gator board method, or the bull clamps. Those are the best and easiest. Don't forget to let the painting dry completely before unfastening. If you want the paper to have a more acrylics friendly surface, prepare it with a layer of gesso.

I tested some gold leaf on a plastic phone charger 😅 I used basic pva glue, waited about a minute and stuck the sheet on. It was a mess. The foil got all clumped up and broke and wouldn't stick back on to any other glued parts. It got very scrunchy and clumpy and textured from trying to flatten the foil out and every time I tried to get it to flatten out or if I added more pieces it just became more clumpy with the gold forming grainy bits. Might dilute the pva next time and try again. The gold size they sell in store is not worth the expense especially as I'm not sure how often I want to work with gold foil because it's so fussy and messy. Thanks for this video🌼
