Met Stephen Stills backstage at the Irvine Amphitheater. Very friendly, a real gentleman, he was kind and talked to me for awhile, a humble, thoughtful guy. no air of star struck pride. I was younger than him. God bless him.
I Loved hearing them unplugged the harmony is amazing they will never be replaced. I had hoped to see them do one more show - sadly never to happen now. RIP David your talent will be greatly missed. Your songs always swept me away to a younger time - such wonderful memories - thank you all for giving me much happiness over the years!!
Dude, there are three kinds of music. Good music, bad music, and classics. All three have emerged from every decade in every century. I'm thankful I was able to experience CSN's good stuff. They put out some stinkers too, don't forget. Let's celebrate artists and great works and we don't have to put down the rest.
I was lucky enough to see CSNY in Atlanta once in about early 2000's during a reunion type tour with ole' Neil. Then saw CSN open for Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers a few years after. Then took my Brother to see CSN at Chastain Park Amphitheater in ATL for his Birthday. Great music, great times and threw me back to the Late 60's and early 70's and, what a great time in Music and really in America had it not been for that wretched Vietnam War that took away too many of mine and your Friends.
My all time favorite style of his. Made it my own years ago... the SS female version in my area. LOL Now IF only he would go back to a clean shaven look, I'd be happy. Hehe.
The vocal harmony of "4 + 20" at 7:09 is just pure gold. The original track has only Stills vocals in it and it's great, but with Crosby and Nash it becomes a masterpiece.

Best of the best, Stephen Stills as guitarist, songwriter and singer, a master. I had the immense pleasure of watching him jam with Bruce Cockburn on a Montreal stage, possibly one of the highest moments in guitar history, simply wondrous!
