Upon further research after filming this video, I’ve learned that Germany advises speed limits in adverse weather such as this. I wasn’t aware of that at the time, and the certain section I was using did not have adaptive speed gantries. Regardless, I’m happy I kept safe and didn’t push the car or myself unnecessarily hard!
I’ve owned a couple of Maserati’s my first being a 3200gt and my second a Quattroporte and so far the QP has been a great ownership experience. Like any car the bottom of the market is where the problem cars hang out. Buy a good one and you will love it!
Brilliant UA-cam joel , thanks I don't blame you for not pushing it to hard , I would Of bottled out well before you , but you no your car so well done, bro , cannot wait for what you doing next ?.

Yes, good you pay attention to tires. People tend to save money and opt for crap like Landsail, Xingxong, Pingpong. But tires, indeed, are the only contact with the road. Buy decent tires, folks!
Great content Joel, would love to get across to Germany and stretch the legs of my 335d. Just out of curiosity I noticed you film on your go pro over your right shoulder, what resolution and ratio do you film in?
Should have filmed this again on another day with better weather. You made the right decision but it was a disappointing video by not seeing things through, was expecting a dry run at the end of the video.
@@itsjoelI just looked at the stance, seem very high at the rear with the wheels kind of lonely? Re. the pressure, my Giulia also has lower pressure at the back, just cos they’re wider I thought? May be wrong!
Joel , stay safe.... I know it is tempting to hit 150 ....don't take unnecessary risks Your Masserati looks fab , did you really buy it for 6k ? Amazing value . Enjoy .
Hi Joel and best regards from Norway, fun to see that you enjoy car. It is in fact not so bad as many wants it to be. I own a GTS 2008 (only 667 produced) since 2017 and have a blast with it. But of course i have had every thing done to it so its very bulletproof now. Invite me to you and i fix your cam caps job. Some traveling money and a good english pint. And jobs done 😂😂
Yup. If you are dreaming, and do your research in terms of realistic running costs, and if that's doable, or there abouts, go for it. Life is too short to scare yourself away, based on pure hearsay. I've run M3's as daily's for 270k plus miles over 23 years and a Ferrari 360 for 15k over 4.5 years. The scare stories aren't normally realized, as long as you are realistic. They are more expensive than running a Fiesta or Corsa.
You’re braver than me in those conditions…. A little bit of aqua planning at that speed would not be good… go back when it’s dry. Pleased you’re enjoying the car.
I just filled up with Shell V-power 93 octane and I calculated 13.8mpg. Fuel capacity is 23.8gal according to Google. What tire psi do you use for the Nurburgring vs on the Autobahn? Oops just kept watching the video… dude. I fill up 35psi all around for suburban and sub 120mph driving lol
@itsjoel no but still needs fixing anyway and someone else did blow there's up so I'm not sure i would want to risk it as the repair cost would end the cars life
Bravo to Michelin for appreciating talented content creators and actually sending free top of the top tyres. Respect to that. Michelin Pilot Sport 4S and the newer S5 (coming slowly to all sizes) are something I must have on all cars I own. And I got a lot of people giving it a shot and seeing them surprised what an experience it is, is always fun too 😂
My previous (long) comment of warning, explaining in detail, why you should not do this has been deleted for some reason….??? So, I’ll just say this: DO NOT do this on two-lane sections of Autobahn. Whether the weather is dry or not, you are putting your life (and others) in the hands of not just yourself but in the hands of others! It shouldn’t actually much to figure out why.
Checking fluid levels with engine running, not advised for an accurate reading Correction, there are four contact points with the road, not one as you stated.
You have bigger balls than me and I’ve pushed it a few times ! But not in that sort of conditions . Plus I’d have a crash helmet on lol . Great car and a keeper , they are getting rarer and hope you throw some money at it and bring it up to the best standard you can .
Yeah, I like the channel but this was dumb as rocks! German autobahns are not playgrounds, they expect drivers to be responsible... it doesn't matter if he destroys his own car, but he passed other cars at a speed that was much too high in that kind of rain. Very disappointing IMO.
Get yourself a Porsche 928 S manual they were made between 1980-84 those things will do just shy of 200 mph standard and a LOT more with a little engine work. Has to be manual cos the auto box was USELESS until the later models but finding a decent one for £6k??? maybe not

Common sense advises speed limits in weather like that...
I’m so glad you backed out… I don’t want to watch ‘it was Joel’!
"My Maserati does 185! I lost my license. Now I don't drive " 😊

Very wise calling it a day in that weather, I’m not sure I would push any car in the wet. Great content thank you.

145 is nothing to scoff at! And those tyres mean serious business!!
The car did amazing and it sounds incredible! Love the video series of the Maserati🔥
Wise man calling the speed as you did. Great car
The car sounds great and I think the interior looks really smart
I love my GranTurismo S 4.7 with ZF transmission - glad you are a fan of the QP as they are th same car essentially! Loved the video!
Loving your work Joel!
Good effort in that weather.
Great content Joel.
The weather was against you there, good call on that.
Change gear FFS
Wow car did amazing, your right not to push it in those conductions, great content 👌
I agree, so impressed! Thanks for watching

Hi Joel, We haven’t seen much of Katie since you got married. Does she share your enthusiasm for speed or is she more nervous?
She loves speed, she’s the one that nudged me to buy the maserati!

Totally agree!
That speed in those conditions, wasn't a smart play. Michelin PS4's don't stop aquaplaning. There is a time and a place for speed. This wasn't it.
Completely agree

Such a cool car 🤙
145 is ballsy in that weather
Tbf when it's raining you don't even wanna be going faster than 70mph just because it takes much longer to slow down when it's wet
Is this Maserati with equipped with duo select trans or ZF ?
His is the ZF 6 Speed.
not the best day to drive fast ie that a bit wet for used tires.
Sick idea !!!
Fuck yeah
Be careful Joel you might blow the head gasket

That window must be infuriating. Is it a difficult or expensive repair?
Not smart to drive that fast during rainy weather. Darwin wasn’t at home that day.
Too bad it was rainy, you should try on a sunny day.
In all honesty that was rather foolish.
