One of the best acoustic intros to any song, I have heard cleaner and more incredible sounding live intros however there is no soul on them. When you see these guys smiling at each other on stage you know these guys are for real and are having fun up there and so is the crowd. No one smiles anymore on stage these days, asides from U2's show, what happened to music!!! No wonder U2 makes their own rules and is still using the same crew for 30 years back stage. Joe Oh. Is still their mixer today.
I have this entire concert on a VHS tape and would rescue it before just about anything else if my house caught fire. I watched it live that night - and as far away from my parents as I could that cold wet Melbourne night! Thank God for UA-cam 'cos the copy I have is fading fast so you're awesome for uploading this DogSwede1. Like Sture Hall below says....just listen (and enjoy) to the worlds best guitarist in action.

This song reminds me of the old good times, the late 80s, when I was only a teenager and the summers on the coast of Spain were neverending... No worries, no obligations, no need for anything but music and friends. Mark and Dire Straits are the OST of my 38 years... Long live Mark on stage! Spain loves you.
This has to be the best version of this song. When you get to around half way and hear that beautiful bass rift start it is magic. Why didnt they release this as a music video? But at least we have this wonderful version on UA-cam. Thankyou
SIMPLY MY FAVOURITE LIVE VERSION OF ANY D STRAITS SONG! Though i prefer studio recordings of some others, this is the coolest "different" version EVER!!!

For those that don’t remember simulcast broadcasts you had the video on tv and the sound was from an FM station that you tuned your radio receiver into to get the sound in full stereo Oooooh so hi tech back then. I loved this version and thought I’d never hear it again let alone see the video again. Thank god for UA-cam and those people that keep gems like this - I believe this is the only concert they ever did this version - it’s so rare - thank you for bringing it back
i was at this concert they were here in auss for wat seemed an eternity doing gig after gig this was takin on the very last show they sound so good on video but ten times better when youre actually there i went twice in sydney and once in melbourne dire straits will forever be imortalised by myself
