Try a missile build like the one I just posted. I tried for hours and then I beat it first try with a light build. All about the builds. Even I looked it up, admittedly.
these enemies seem extremely resistent to energy weapons, or at least really weak to kinetic weapons because the difference in damage is very noticable.
These speedy C-weapons that zip around faster than literally anything else are easily the most frustrating enemies in the game. Zimmermans and maybe flamethrowers are the only way to get a stagger and some damage on them.
I tried this same build but as a bipedal instead of a tank and without using the crater. Managed to get down to the last drone and was one hit away from winning before it killed me with one of it's jump kicks of all things. I felt so disrespected. Those wheels really grind through your repair kits and they're ridiculously armored for some reason. I can go into the wheel part with all my repair kits and nearly full health and come out with zero kits and half dead. I don't know how I'm going to S rank this mission.
s a m e, i was able to s rank all the final bosses (with relative ease). this and the mission with the BAWS facility are going to be my biggest hurdle with the s-ranks
Also, that's not a criticism, it's an opinion...and a shitty one at that. Is it poorly designed simply because you struggled with it? What about everyone that didn't? I would say Attack the Watchpoint the first time is worse. You have extremely limited weapons, there are 3 stages including a sub boss, THEN you get to fight the cheapest enemy in the game: Balteus. You can't even restart the boss fight without doing 10 mins of work ahead of time, and if you forgot to buy something, you're fucked. That's a criticism, since I gave some objective reasons it can be a pain in the ass. You have no reasons.
I ended up using dual shoulder mounted shotguns and flame throwers. As soon as anything crested that hill it was instantly stunned and cooked. Didn't even have to use a health kit, hiding in that crater really was a game changer
@Smokeymcpot713 They also don't dodge, they just move really fast, but not faster than a missile. So if you're in a rush or want an S, just rain missiles on them, that's how I S'd that mission and finished it in like 50 seconds
What do you mean easy, though? You finished the mission with almost no AP and no repair kit! That was no easy at all. Managed to do this with the wheelchair legs, much better for better mobility, because all enemies are moving crazy fast
@@slayer4932they are called bad cook, and are hidden in a level, iirc one of the ones late in the game where you head underground, pt 2 or pt 3 of it I think. Should be enough to get you there with a google
I found a much better way, even did it with a light build. Just use the basic, 3 cell missile launchers and the handheld missile launcher that looks boxy, but the smaller, cheaper one. Anyways, these guys apparently never got programmed to dodge tracking missiles, because they hit VERY consistently and basically a single full blast from ANY of your weapons instantly kills one of the wheels. They also all reload very quickly. I did it with the Ephemera gear on, the super light build. Only had maybe 9k ap. *I should add that keeping off the ground is more important than ap or defense here, since the wheel missiles don't do much and are easily dodged.
Thanks for the tips. The crater is the big deal here I'd say. After switching to roughly this build and employing this strategy I beat the level on the first try. I used dual Zimmermans and songbirds.
@@bsz9256 Oh, and a build to keep you up off the ground prevents a lot of contact damage from the wheels. I found tanks harder to keep above the chaos.
You have no idea how good this build was for this mission! I built it with the weapon and tread specs and went with a main medium close range fcs and 🤌 end wiped em with 2 repair kits left . I was so fucking angry all 5 prior builds I used I would end with 1 of them rolling fuckers and the 2 institute acs at the end and I would just get worn down each time. This fuckin nuked em all!
This and the helicopter escort missions are by far the worst designed missions in the game. Wave 1 and 2 of this isn’t poor enemy spawns but straight at wave 3 with 6 wheel c weapons is where I draw the line.
I am on my 4ft playthrough and this is the only mission that I dont like. What a great game, I am pleasently surprised! Tanks for the great build, it realy helped!
Ngl the biggest problem for me in this fight is the amount of hot wheels running around because I keep getting to the last wave and then getting suddenly rushed by 1 or 2 remaining ines
Get tetrapod legs and songbirds or other explosives, and you can easily oneshot the wheels when they come at you and drift whole you hover obove them. As for the MTs, you can actually get a jump on them when they get of the mining ship if you assault boost there. At least that was my S-rank
If you want a TRUE Hard Counter for every enemy in this map, bring out the flamethrowers. These weapons completely disregard the speedy boys and their attempts to dodge, melting them at rapid rate. You can bring some big hitters on your shoulders like the needle gun so you can burst down targets that get stunned. This works both on the wheels and mechs and you no longer need to ambush them.
I beat it first try without cheesing it, its not a bad mission its just difficult and meant to barrage you with difficult enemies. Probably sucks for you if you had to resort to cheesing the AI out in a corner on a tank build and still barely surviving.
The only thing i've felt a need to use cheese for. This was just a badly designed mission
yeah and the fact that you have to wait ~50 seconds everytime you restart because there is no checkpoint only makes it worse
Try a missile build like the one I just posted. I tried for hours and then I beat it first try with a light build. All about the builds. Even I looked it up, admittedly.
@@MrAllimathI agree the restart time is the worst part.
Lol
@davejones9469 that was a good tip. I never used a light weight build until now and I got it firs try 🤙
these enemies seem extremely resistent to energy weapons, or at least really weak to kinetic weapons because the difference in damage is very noticable.
Super weak to explosive damage, and really crap at avoiding missiles lol.
These speedy C-weapons that zip around faster than literally anything else are easily the most frustrating enemies in the game. Zimmermans and maybe flamethrowers are the only way to get a stagger and some damage on them.
The issue with kinrtic weapons here is that they ricochet unless you basically touch them with your barrels. Explosives work quite well.
Use flamethrowers to S rank this mission. Trust me. They ignore the wheel mobs armour lol
You're my savior. But I watched that first tank drone go down I was like burn b****
Amazing advice thank you
🎉🎉🎉 Thanks buddy
Thank you!
I was stuck here for 30 mins until i saw your comment!
Thank you - flame thrower magic worked a treat

Agreed 💯
Try a basic missile build like the one I just posted. Insanely easy.

Thanks a lot man really, Miyazaki was probably really proud of the wheel mob again, not to mention the kicking robots 😅
Somehow these make the skeleton wheels less annoying

I read "tanks"
So buddy… who need you?

This mission is a call out to dark souls the catacomb
Where we go down deep in dark place, swarmed by wheel skeletons

Honestly this mission was just bs for no reason all they did was spam C-Weapons and nothing unique
This mission was painful, i managed to do it using the flamethrowers.
truly painful 😭 i was just finally able to do it with dual gats/songbirds with tetra legs
It's absolutely crazy how much damage flames do, they turned this mission from extremely frustrating to extremely easy
How do you get the flamethrowers I’ve done 2 playthroughs still havnt unlocked them.

thanks for the tips, the speed of these awful things was well on its way to giving me a damn brain aneurism.
this mission was harder than any boss fight in the game and is responsible for taking the wife and kids
Thank you for the guide it worked, this is definitely the worst mission I’ve had to deal with, it’s so poorly designed it’s not even funny
Thanks for the upload. I was frustrated, but made it with the crater and wheelchair legs
damn, this is above my pay grade....i do like how u used the environment to gain the advantage...
will try it , may need weeks of rest after this one
I am glad I was able to avoid pulling out the Ace Option and beating it with a rev joint build, good shit on showcasing this

Hardest mission in the game (still yet). I beat yesterday this mission, but i try at least 10 times. Tank build works here only, maybe.
Try missiles. Easy as pie.

Replace the Zimmermans with majestics, it shreads the wheel bitches and it helped the first time I made the change!
After doing this mission a couple times, i van damn well use any builds on this mission and beat it no problem. Just takes time and patiences
