A beautiful dart, AND good luck with this , a classic upgrsde that show in the direct conection books and catálogs in the 70' . Cheers with a pure muscle mopar 🍻
I had a 72 dart I swapped a 400 ci big block in as my daily driver in high school. Those six cylinder torsion bars allowed the front end to come way up quickly. In the rear, I also added one leaf to the rear leaf spring pack and clamps on the front of the leaf spring packs. The car did pretty well street racing with that set-up and lowered my 3 gear burnouts to only 1 gear. You have a beautiful car there. Can't wait to see the mods you make in the future and also more track numbers.
Just catching up with your posts, missed a couple of 'em. First of all, Congratulations to you and the your family! We had no idea! The 6 cyl. bars should help with the Dart's weight transfer ( will be watching your latest video right after I write this. Sad to hear about you guy's racetrack. I hope they do build another one close by and soon. The Dart looks amazing as usual. See ya next time!
Nice Job love the stance …. I know people that did the bar switch like you …. They said it made a big difference…. Good luck hope to see you at the track soon
Nice work. :) Just a small note (to a common misconception about the torsionbar adjuster): Rotating the adjuster does not add or remove torsionbar twist (nor the springrate). It only changes the front ride height of the car. Static torsionbar twist is created purely due to the car's weight. The adjuster just changes the angle of the lower control arm in relation to the front torsionbar socket, where the adjuster is located in.
Now it needs a front end alignment, when you change the ride height, it changes the camber and toe settings, but this will make the car transfer more weight to the rear wheels. Do you have a good set of adjustable shocks on the front of the car? That will help as well. BTW only do the alignment after you put a few miles on the car to let the ride height settle.
Love watching your videos. The Dart is looking great! I love the wheels you put on it. What are they? Looking for something different for my Superbee and I’m really digging on those wheels you have. Thanks!
So how much front suspension up travel do you have from your ride height? You want at least 5” of up travel for the caltracs to work well. And 6” is even better. You could trim the droop bump stops as well, would have to remove them and see how far it drops, then calculate how thin you could make them.
I have a 400-470 big block, I am going to be using the Calvert 90/10 shocks. I have the big 9 qt super stock pan & slant 6 bars. I'm a little worried about wheelies , do the Calvert shocks let the car down slowly when you're coming out of the wheelie?
Yep, within two years or so I see a Magnum Force tubular front K member with adjustable shocks and full 4 link rear in your future… Bye bye torsion bars altogether and another 100 plus pounds gone…

This was the first mods I did to my Barracuda 30+ years ago.

Thanks!
I have vids on them check it out!
Looking good bro just remember when you come off the line for no reason at all do not come off the gas that front end will slam down power out of it
I the the new torsion bars will help your 60 ft times. We ran those back in the 70's. Everything old is new again!😂
It'll be interesting to see how much that effects the rear spring recoil.
I thinking I will adjust with the rear shocks for this works out

Congrats on the new addition to the family. With these adjustments, do you have any trouble getting in and out of your driveway?
Do you ever do any street racing?

They are supposed to. Easy to go up, stiffer coming down. Extension and compression
Lookin Good...and Congrats on the child, I didn't even realize you switched from GF to Wifey 👍
Congrats on being a daddy!
Thanks!
What compound are the tires? Soft or harder?
