I give step by step instructions on the process of making fish oil for the use of trapping. i also threw in a few bowfishing pics. hope u enjoy. feed is welcome.
I really like that you do everything that you need for trapping from making fish oil to modifying your traps. Buying supplies takes away from your bottom line, so the more you do for yourself, the less you have to buy from folks who do it for a cut in your profits.
I caught a snapper a couple days ago and cooked it up, one of the best things ive ever eaten. If you ever get one make a full video on how to field dress it and what recipe you use, im sure its a good one, I fried mine!!
Just want to start off by sayin, love the videos man. Quick question after you let 5he fish bake for a while do 6 of basically strain the bones out of the buckets. Or do you want to 5 re to scoop all the fish oil off 5he top and leave the rest?
the best tip i have for you all is in the lid of yours jars or buckets put a small hole and feed in a peice of aquarium tubing the stuff for an araitor and then silicone around it. it you make it long enough to hang down but not so long that it touches the ground and the flys will not go up the tubing but the gas can excape.
I make fish oil as well, not only for trapping, but for my home made plastic worms. After I remove the oil ill dump the left overs in my catfish spots, brings them right in lol.
yes it hatches maggots so I threw it away...I saw in a another video that the guy puts water in it en closed the container with clothes so that's how air got in it but thats the wrong way I think...can you tell me how exactly to make it
While I appreciate the video. Wouldn't you get more oil if you puree the fish. Then after separation you could use the meat for bait? Just asking, not judging.
the process of rendering basically dissolves all "meat." what you are left with is bones, fish juice and oil. there is no meat left to be used for bait. so basically pureeing would be a wasted step. thanks for watching, take care

So would Asian/silver carp work as well? I would assume so
Did you add purified water or just tap water, how long does it take to make oil?
is the fish oil for mink trapping? if so, I'll try it!
Do you put water in there with the cut up fish when you store them or do you just put the lid on there and let them set for a few months?
Do you vent the jars
can you use any fish
