Hello ! Nice job ! Never seen someone as good on a backhoe. But at digging house footings like this, or larger, how do you pass over ditches with the backhoe ? Without destroying ditches banks ? Easy to do with tracked excavator but with your backhoe ? I’ve just purchased a 13ton wheeled excavator and I still wonder how to dig footings with it, for that reason. You have weels too, not as much pressure on ground as mine, but still difficult to pass over ditches. Thank you a lot if you can answer my question ? 😅
It’s really easy with the backhoe, the wide stabilizer and front bucket make a stabile platform for digging. Thanks for watching, and have a look at this video. ua-cam.com/video/Uz_u_maCNyQ/v-deo.html
@@Digginok thank you ! stable yes, i just seen how you Slide the back part of machine Over a ditch using the bucket plus stabilizers, but how do you pass over it fully ? Slide it by the rear pulling the whole machine with hoe perpendicular to the ditch ? Then when front wheels reach the bank, lift the front bucket at bit and finish the move ?
Sometimes I like the little quick jobs better than the longer ones. But I have found it hard working for workers of my customers, they usually want too much for too little.
I’ve always heard grading was a nightmare with a backhoe. I’ve tried myself with a JD 310c and it sucked. I’m thoroughly impressed with your skill, but does a motor grader or newer GPS equipped dozer ever have to come behind you to do finish grade?
I rough graded the sand on this job, the plumber will be Digging through it anyway. I have built pads for house add on’s and some barn pads without needing a dozer or grader. I do use a laser level , and can get most stuff pretty close. I have heard it said “the backhoe can do everything but nothing well”, I challenge that statement. A good operator can do anything very well with a backhoe. Thanks for watching!
I bet if you do a “Debunking the Backhoe Myth, it does everything better and more” video, it will spark a controversy and debate and you’d get tons of hits. Even do a side by side comparison of work done. Everybody would start going nuts
Hey mate, I got a question. Why do you have teeth like that, sorry not you, the bucket! Haha! Wider at the base than where they join the main part of the bucket?
Cheap and for friends. Did a lot of them. Usually lost money on them or you might say I paid to do the job. I have neighbors that have asked and I point to the rental place that you can almost see from the house anymore. If I got paid for all the free jobs I would have money instead I so broke I can't even pay attention anymore.
@@Digginok that's primarily what I've done. We don't do much commercial work. I enjoy residential footings because we can dig and pour them the same day and move on to the next job. My ADHD kicks in on those huge jobs. Lol
You made quick work of it and it still looks great! Thanks for the video! Keep on making backhoes great! #MBGA !
Thanks!! #MBGA!
i'm a new operator, thanks for publishing this video, the tips and tricks help alot.
Thanks for watching
Yeah, I always said, take the fat when you can cause it might get thin down the road ! 😊
Thanks for sharing and take care. 👍
That is well said!!! Thanks for watching!
Good morning Frank, Thank you for the video and Take Care!!👍😎🇬🇧.
Good afternoon Wayne, Thanks for watching!!! USA!
Looks good as always frank nice job dealing with the mud
Thanks! We have had a lot of practice in the mud this winter/spring!!!
I certainly enjoy your work, I wish I had 10% of the skill you have with a backhoe!
Thanks!!! All it takes is seat time and a truck load of patience, you got it in you i'm sure.
Another nice piece of work.
Thanks Dave!
You make it look easy for sure, thanks for sharing.
Dwayne
Thanks for watching!
Nice work Frank Thanks 👍🏻
Thank you!
Great job Frank! 2.5 hours is pretty quick on that sometimes you have those jobs!
Thanks! Yeah they are a pain and don’t pay as well as the big stuff, but ya gotta do them.
What's the process when there's interior beams to dig?
I usually dig a couple of perimeter sides and then dig the interior footer and finish the other sides last.
Mud , Mud And More Mud !!! Hey , How Come J. Paydirt Said Your Name Is " Buster " ?
Been a wet winter! Jeff said on a video once that I was the Buster Scruggs of the backhoe. Look up The Ballad of Buster Scruggs.

@@renesolaire8319 yes, can be done frontwards or in reverse.
Very nice!!!!!!!!!
Thank you sir!

Yeah, this is an exception. I rarely do this stuff, but it has been a tough winter. Beats sittin at the house!
@@Digginok I totally agree. I get cabin fever very quickly. Hopefully the rest of the year will make up for the winter.
nice job Frank !
Thanks!
2.5hrs sounds good. It beats shoveling by hand and spending the night at the hospital LoL
nicely done skills for sure
Thank you!

Digginok do you mount a laser receiver on the loader?
I guess you just gotta go slow, I have so much dang wheel bounce.
I do have a magnet mount I can use in the front too. Take it slow until you get comfortable, speed comes later.

Lol! The flared teeth clean the bottom cleaner. Works similar to a smooth edge, but I can still use tiger teeth for rock if needed.
We need some of those hats
Maybe I can figure that out at some point!
Gotta keep those skills fine tuned (you're too smooth), lol.
I practice on every job!!! No such thing as too smooth! Thanks my friend1
👍👍👍
Hey, it's another little job and they all add up. Sure was a sloppy mess on top though.
You are correct!!!

Not every job is paid this side of heaven!
You ever start sellin hats let us know because i want one👍👍
I will at some point, just hope I can make the deal work smoothly!
I would be proud to wear one.
Seems odd to watch you dig footings that narrow after watching you dig those commercial footings. Looks good though.
I used to dig a lot of house footers, usually on my way home form the bigger jobs. Thanks!

The mud doesn't scare Frank!!!
Nope! #MBGA
What would an average guy around your parts pay for a quick job like that? Ballpark figure?
Depends a lot on the drive. 300-400 most likely.
Another thing to consider is I probably saved him 1-2 yards of concrete, so if you take that into the mix I work pretty cheap. Lol
Digginok, man that’s cheap. Come out to Las Vegas please. West coast is a rip off.
We love love us some good ol’ honest southern boys down here!!!
Mupert Rurdoch that drive would cost ya!!!
It may not be a gravy job but you've got bills to pay somehow
Yep! gotta keep the money flowing, even a trickle helps!

16” wide footings are way too hard to tie steel in, that’s why mine are 24”
Yeah you are a sissy!
Digginok I’ll show you sissy
@@e.l.construction5945 I'm sure you can!
Tim Ebert how are you?
Tim Ebert I can’t complain
Take work when you can get it.
Yes!
