He acted and sang the title role of "OLIVER" at Mermaid Theater, London, and the same cast studio recording was released in 1961(Capitol ST1784).His boy soprano solo "Where Is Love?" is superb. He was approximately about 12 years old. The other casts were Stanley Holloway as Fegin, Alma Cogan as Nancy, Violet Carson as widow Corney, and Charles Granville as Bill Sykes.
Hes a great bloke, loved him in all the shows I saw him in.He was great in Minder with George Cole, another legend. He was brilliant in New Tricks, sad day when all the original stars started leaving.New mob did their best but just not the same. Thanks Dennis.
A really nice actor with a nice attitude, and in some very well known and loved TV. Always liked him he could be a toughish guy, who seemed to be able to handle himself, at least that's the way he played it but underneath was a genuine knd heart.I saw him once in the mid 80s in Berwick St.
I Love This Guys' accent ..... Lived in London in "them ' days !!! Arthur Daily and " The Minder " ... Loved and still Love them All (y) they were so Great
I was on the A1 and George Cole came up along the side of me so I overtook him and then he overtook me then I overtook him then he overtook me again this went on for about an hour then he smiled at me and turned off at the next Junction, what a character.
I am very glad to hear him say that he is deeply ashamed of hitting his wife. Without wanting to go into any real detail, because someone's marriage is obviously a deeply personal matter. In many ways it's a two way street as Rula demonstrated by going to the newspapers.
Great doco...👍 Child star i didn't realize I knew u sang THE SWEENEY FABULOUS WATCH.... saw u in Australia on stage at Subiaco always a huge fan........❤💋
Yes he does like his Golf. Back in 1997, Hotel staff didn't blab about celebrities or ask them for autographs ;) Compared to other well-known faces, or Hollywood crews staying at our Hotel, DW was very low key and unassuming. He seemed a quiet and reserved bloke, chatted at the bar, and kept himself to himself otherwise. Polite and tolerant when the Press turned up. DW has been around a long time. And of course he's legendary for Minder, with the great George Cole in one of the finest TV series that Britain ever produced.
9 kids from parents who "couldn't stand each other", lol 🎭🎭🎭 Failing school & put to work for household money. If he considers himself lucky being raised by his 2 oldest sisters, he probably was luckier than other child actors.

I met Dennis in London, either 1972 or 1978!!!!!But I can still remember the Hangover!!!!! great guy. Happy Days.
He was also in a late 60's "kitchen sink" film called Up The Junction, filmed around Battersea and Clapham with a young Maureen Lipman. Great film.
Suzy Kendall and Adrienne posta also. Originally a tv play directed by the genius that is Ken loach
And he's very good in an Episode of Hammers "Journey to the Unknown" called Eve from 1968.

What is the title of the book referred to by both Dennis and Vanessa ?
9 kids from parents who "couldn't stand each other", lol 🎭🎭🎭 Failing school & put to work for household money. If he considers himself lucky being raised by his 2 oldest sisters, he probably was luckier than other child actors.
