When I was a kid in the 1980's that Thames opening indent "dah dah da daahhh" meant something good was about to start. Minder, The Sweeney, Morecambe and Wise..... Wish they made telly like that, today.
Dennis waterman starred in 2 classic tv shows from a vintage era in British drama,...Sweeney and minder became part of my wonderful childhood growing up in the 70s and 80s,...both were great gritty dramas with humor, and a charm , that we grew to love, and look back with now,..with a warmth and a fondness.......miss those .great times

No they wouldn't, as this was filmed in 1978. If it was the same audience today you might have a point. But it was nearly 45 years ago.
