In Adobe Rush I just reduce background noise by 10% and click "enhance voice" that helps it out and gives a good balance between voice and hearing the bike
Hi Lali, have you using some setup to mix the Cardo sounds (like music or conversation) in the GoPro records? I trying to make a setup using the Cardo mic and 2 others micro microphones to capture the sound from speakers.
A million thanks for sharing your links on your setup. I was really struggling with audio quality, cracks and pops. OMG this Mic has definitely solved my issues even at highway speed with my Visor UP! Sound quality is excellent. I highly recommend, thank you.

I hope you don't mind but I have mentioned this video of yours in my test video using this setup. I really enjoyed this video. I enjoyed the tech info (I'm certified geek) but also seeing you ride around where we used to live. Hershey is one of the few towns where you want to live near the factory. The smell of chocolate and roasting almonds was heavenly. The wooden roller coaster (at 7:46) on the left was, at least at the time when it was built in the early/mid 90's, the largest wooden structured roller coaster either in the nation or world. Would be cool for you to do an episode just on the Hershey story as you tool around the town. He was a great man. Thanks for the video! Enjoy all of them!!
Hello Lali we just found your channel. We are using GoPro Hero 8's as well. Have not media modded on a helmet yet will do so now thanks to this video. The Purple Panda just got us again with the issues you called out during a week of vloggs from Florida's Forgotten Coast. This was very helpful. Best wishes for you and your platform from ODTRP.
Hello there, Thank you for this suggestion, I have replicated it in my helmet and it works like a charm, specialy the mic. I did a first test today and the footage and sound are amazing. Thanks for this video! Cheers from Portugal!
Gotta say the gloss carbon helmet looks so good. So happy you found your perfect motovlog setup Lali. Have to go look at the helmet as I'm due for a new one soon.
I'm getting ready to do my first motovlogging season. I am rocking a Z1R Solaris helmet, GoPro Hero 8 on chinmount, Tascam DR-05x, and a Purple Panda microphone. I have a Drift Ghost XL setup on a side mount on my helmet for backup and for dashcam. My handsfree audio is the Cardo Freecom 4+ with JBL speakers, which I love cause it raises and lowers volume based on ambient sound. Lastly, I put deadcats on ALL microphones. This effectively deletes wind noise. Always use deadcats. I will say they look absolutely ridiculous. But, they are absolutely necessary! I will say this. The Purple Panda is the absolute BEST microphone I have tried so far and that is my pick for the audio. Purple Panda with Tascam DR-05x.
Chin mounts is a game changer. I went with an external audio recorder since I dont plan on vlogging/talking, maybe when im a beast at doing wheelies ill add a mic to it but not quite there yet.
I’ve watched so many videos on a good Moto log setup my head is spinning and I’m ready to say f this. I don’t like full face helmets I wear a Bell 3/4 so it’s been especially challenging to get decent audio without having to scream. I made a video using a go pro 10 with the media mod, using the back camera and the camera is on a neck mount and it was ok. I tried a full face with a gaming mic and got all kinds of snap, crackle, pop so ditched that. . (Had I seen your video first I would have bought this Mov instead) Thanks for all the effort you put in Lali. Much appreciated!
Lali, thanks for the advice on the mic. It is working well for me so far. I stuffed the whole thing behind a cheek pad and it sounds pretty good. You are pretty smart and funny.
Great video! I am currently going through these headaches of finding solutions to Gopro audio issues. It is so annoying! Glad you found what works for you!
I just installed the Twiins handsfree 3.0 Bluetooth system in my helmet a few days ago. You were right about having music to listen to while riding. It's not very bassy, but it sounds pretty good. The speakers fits perfect in my helmet slot of my HJC helmet. It took me a while to connect to my phone but got it done. I accidentally called the chinese resturant 4 times while trying to pair it up with my phone. They probably thought I was prank calling them. I was getting hungry in the process. I haven't started doing any videos yet while riding, that will come soon.
Lali, thank you so much for discussing about a trusted mic in so much detail. I've had so many issues with the various lavalier mics that I used and I had given up hopes of getting a mic which wouldn't leave a hole in my pocket! I have read a lot of positive reviews for the Movo ACM400 microphone (on Amazon) that you recommended and I'm finally going to try one out to test it! best wishes from India!
This is why I like you and love your channel...good solid advice, positive approach to problems, intelligent editing and :-) awsome audio :-)... Thank you Lali!!!
I have found that the GoPro mic adapter is the cause of most of my audio interruptions. I have a media mod and new microphone ready to go. I just need to take time this weekend to swap them out. You’re right, the key to the correct microphone is getting one that plugs straight in to the media mod without the need for a TRRS-TRS adapter. The fewer the connections, the better.
Yes, definitely skip the adapters if you can. They're a big part of the issue. They're not designed to be plugged in and out constantly like we have to in motovlogging
hey, thanks I'm thinking of recording my daily motovlogging to the office but I just remembered I didn't buy any microphone for it... how frustrated I am right now..so that is very grateful that I was able to encounter this video of yours.
OH MY GAWD!!! you earned a SUB. I've not tested on a ride yet as it just came in (the mic) but already I notice a huge difference in how much of my breathing comes through, way less. I hope the popping is taken care of from this. I also tucked it behind my cheek pad. I have a modular helmet. I'm actually worried lots of airflow will come in through the cheek pad as its right where the front of the helmet seals at but either way the audio quality is great and clear. Thank you!
I came back to this video to say thank you so much for sharing what you use, i ordered the same mic and its been absolutely awesome from my first ride motovlog 🙏💖
I was contemplating the Hero 10 but then saw it had SD card error issues. Digging your setup. Might go that direction. Maybe the Hero9 with the Media Mod. Love that I can also use this as a normal vlogging camera off the helmet using the Mod. Ride safe. Just found you. MP
I'd get a 10 before a 9. I still use 8's, but have been contemplating getting some 10's. As far as SD cards. I'd get SanDisk Extreme Pro. Shouldn't have any problems with it. I'm always paranoid of loosing footage. So I frequently download and reformat the card.
I have been using the Hero 10 since it came out and a Hero 3 Black for many years. Never had any issues with SD cards using SanDisk brand at the proper write speed and I use max bit rate all the time.
THANK YOU! I have been searching all over and trying several different microphones and set-ups for my motovlog. I'm also trying to do it on a tight budget, so the Purple Panda or other expensive microphones are hard to swallow. $25 is more manageable!
Lol, now that was a real happy and enthusiastic video about gear. I get it though, finally something that really works for you even though I didn't had no complaints whatsoever. But happy for you that you nailed it! :D

For go karting and scooter riding, I have a full face helmet. I ended up getting a clear visor and got tinted inserts for it. I got smoke and mirrored. I use mirrored.
Great video, thanks for the tips! I just started motovlogging using the Purple Panda mic. I am noticing lots of crackling/ clipping, and will remember this video for future improvements. Peace out!! :D
Lali, Thanks for the reminder about the Thumbs Up at the end, I was so engrossed in your video I almost forgot to hit it. Good video. Your setup seems to work very well. See you on the next video. Have a great rest of the weekend.
Hey cool love the sedici carbon helmet ! I have the strada 2 fiberglass one ! It is my second one very lite weight! Thank you for the Motovlog setup! Ride safe
Thanks for telling us about the mic. I got a Purple Panda, plugged into a Hero 9 with the media mod and the audio was shit from day one. Spent weeks trying to figure out what I was doing wrong since everyone raves about it. Ended up getting a Senna 20S Evo to plug into an old cellphone to record audio just using the Senna on my helmet. Works decent enough but I'll give this mic a try.
Your voice is really clean but I think it could be better if you can also hear the exhaust a little louder but I think it's just my personal preference 😊
You've convinced me. I have the Purple Panda and have issues with it. I'm trying the Sony ecm cs3 but haven't been out yet to test it. Just ordered the Movo acm400. Should be here by Sunday. Thanks for the tip.
Hey Lali! I have a very similar set up and I'm just starting out motovlogging. I have the same helmet (forza version, not carbon) and it is a good bit quieter with the front chin vent closed! Also, I got a Zoom h1n audio recorder because I was frustrated with the wind noise/clipping I was getting no matter how quietly I talked or how well I sealed up the bottom of my mic. The h1n solved it and made the audio better than I can imagine. It's $100, but it is soo worth it. I tried like 3 different lapel mics and it was really just the audio recorder that I had to change out. Really cannot recommend it enough if you ever have any frustrations with audio if you don't have a dedicated audio recorder already.
I do want to try the zoom recorder...but to record my exhaust so I can just upload pure Spicy boi Akra exhaust vlogs with no talking lol. Pure bliss sound!
Interesting that you are happy with the h1n. I have been trying it for a view days with a purple panda in a full face helmet and I feel my voice sounds choppy/shaky not matter what I do. Almost robotic.
Thank you for this video! I had the same problems with purple panda mics, cracking noises and cut off audio. I just ordered your mic and I hope it’s still working well for you…
Ok, ok, listened to this again and even though the volume gain seems a little low on my end it, it does sound amazing, and for that reason I'm buying it, thanks! Using your affiliate link too.
Definitely something you can fix in post by messing with the sound settings. I use a pretty simple editor and don't really have fancy audio adjust options
Going to give the mic a try! I have the GoPro Hero 8 Black and the Media Mod. 2nd camera is the 7 Black. Started with an AVG helmet, now running a Schuberth C3 Pro, yeah I know DAD helmet...but I'm a Dad so... anyway great content. Thank you for sharing!
Loved your personality, you will go far. Helpful video. Wish you would make a video on tricks and tips on actually doing the recording so that it looks more pleasing and do another video on editing, once you have the footage, what is the quickest way to get it out.
To add my 2 pennies worth on vlogging cameras, sena 10c pro, it’s a 1 stop shop, pictures, videos, calls, intercom when with other riders, music, and when ya talking it obviously records, so kind when ya listening to music and singing 😂, but to have multi angles, add the insta 360 one r, which I’m still to get……, but cool video 👍🏻
Thanks for the clear instructions. I was hoping a little bit for a view of the inside of the helmet. Like "Where does the microphone go" and "how did you route all the cabling". The first part is most important to me, because I struggle with the position of the microphone (where to put it).
Cables are wherever you can fit them behind the padding. As for the mic, test 2 positions, one in front of your mouth and one behind the cheek pad, see which gives you better sound.
@@AntiParallali Thanks for the reply :) ! I already tried both, but both methods pick up a lot of wind buffeting on the PP. I sometimes think it's because of the helmet (RPHA70), but that would be strange because it is a very quiet helmet. I guess I'll start experimenting a lot more with it to see if I can find the sweet spot. Thanks for your input! :)
Respect to Revzilla for helping this young lady out, and scientists Lady for forgetting her helmet 🤔🙄😛 How does your new helmet work for us glasses wearers. Good review of your recording kit.
bought the purple panda got it hooked up, did a quick test before i hopped on the bike and it sounded great. Though i was good to go so i hopped on the bike and went for a nice ride talking to myself the entire time. pulled over to check the video and the audio was completely scuffed. all crackle and pop with an intense wind noise. I just ordered the mic you recommended. hope this is the fix i need as well. i have the same camera and media mod so im hopeful of this one.

I was there also I had a awesome time !!! Thanks for the info safe riding n plz keep the positive info coming!!!!
For go karting and scooter riding, I have a full face helmet. I ended up getting a clear visor and got tinted inserts for it. I got smoke and mirrored. I use mirrored.
Thanks Lali! Just got myself one of those mics =)
Thank you for the time you spent figuring this out, saved me time.
I gotchuuuu
Ok I'll give this mic a try. Thanks for sharing this mic setup Lali.
I ordered a couple but won't be available until November. 😭
Definitely nice sound quality
Hey cool love the sedici carbon helmet ! I have the strada 2 fiberglass one ! It is my second one very lite weight! Thank you for the Motovlog setup! Ride safe
Inspiring and you are fully loaded there with all the gears and gadgets ... Take care and have a safe ride...
Thank you Lali! Multumesc!
Audio sounds great!
The vlog is superb now👍 keep rocking
Wonderful setup and motorcycle! Thanks for sharing
Sounds great thank you for your advice and and tips
Thanks for telling us about the mic. I got a Purple Panda, plugged into a Hero 9 with the media mod and the audio was shit from day one. Spent weeks trying to figure out what I was doing wrong since everyone raves about it. Ended up getting a Senna 20S Evo to plug into an old cellphone to record audio just using the Senna on my helmet. Works decent enough but I'll give this mic a try.
I hate that mic with a passion!
@@AntiParallali I noticed you were a bit unsatisfied with it 😆
Lali your sound quality is on point! I need that mic. Sheesh…
I just bought a second one a few weeks ago haha to put it in a second helmet
Your voice is really clean but I think it could be better if you can also hear the exhaust a little louder but I think it's just my personal preference 😊
You've convinced me. I have the Purple Panda and have issues with it. I'm trying the Sony ecm cs3 but haven't been out yet to test it. Just ordered the Movo acm400. Should be here by Sunday. Thanks for the tip.
BTW, if this mic works out I'll give you a shout out in my video. Is your name pronounced as Lolly but spelled Lali? Thanks.
Ive been getting into moto vlogging and ive been searching for a good mic im stoked i came across your vid ill be getting one asap. Thank you 🤘
New follower, thank you so much for the microphone tip 🙏
Where and how did you set up the h1n what attachment did you get for it ?
Interesting that you are happy with the h1n. I have been trying it for a view days with a purple panda in a full face helmet and I feel my voice sounds choppy/shaky not matter what I do. Almost robotic.
Appreciate this! Just bought this setup! I did opt for the gopro11 though.
Very well explained. Kudos!!!
Your review of the movo mic hit the nail on the head, cost me $24 on Amazon but wow it's mint👍👍
Right?? I bought a second one too in the meantime 😂
wow, great video with very sharp detil,
Bought 2 mics - won't be using the Purple one I purchased. Thank for the tip!
yup audio is perfect =)
thanks for the tip on the mic.
Thank you for this video! I had the same problems with purple panda mics, cracking noises and cut off audio. I just ordered your mic and I hope it’s still working well for you…
Just got the Mic and just ordered the Media Mod!
Looking forward to actually being able to hear myself in my Riding Videos lol
Ok, ok, listened to this again and even though the volume gain seems a little low on my end it, it does sound amazing, and for that reason I'm buying it, thanks! Using your affiliate link too.
Definitely something you can fix in post by messing with the sound settings. I use a pretty simple editor and don't really have fancy audio adjust options
@@AntiParallali still sounds great, thanks for the mic recommendation.
Beautiful roads and beautiful views.😍😍❤️❤️ Thanks Lali for sharing information through motovlog. Enjoyed it.💯👌 Take care, ride safe and stay safe.
To add my 2 pennies worth on vlogging cameras, sena 10c pro, it’s a 1 stop shop, pictures, videos, calls, intercom when with other riders, music, and when ya talking it obviously records, so kind when ya listening to music and singing 😂, but to have multi angles, add the insta 360 one r, which I’m still to get……, but cool video 👍🏻
nice, yea we went tru 4 different mics to find the correct one, this setup sounds great!!
Yes! So happy to see someone who thinks the Purple Panda sucks too! Lost so much footage because of crap audio!
Respect to Revzilla for helping this young lady out, and scientists Lady for forgetting her helmet 🤔🙄😛
How does your new helmet work for us glasses wearers.
Good review of your recording kit.
It's not designed for glasses so I have to wiggle them around a bit until I find a position that works
@@AntiParallali Thank you for the feedback.
When is the dissertation due in ?
bought the purple panda got it hooked up, did a quick test before i hopped on the bike and it sounded great.
Your helmet and jacket looks badass jeezz
