I freeze a bag of fresh pig skin cut in strips, then use them singularly each time I walk a young dog. Like a fetch toy or I'll hide it in the bush and have them find it. Good work though, really enjoy your vids.
Bro try sleeve skinning a small pig, leave the ears on, and stitch it on to a rugby ball, makes a awesome pig dog toy.... lolz.... persistence is the key, he’s definitely interested, heaps of praise and reassurance when he’s on the seen , and doing the right thing, nothing you don’t already know, every dog’s different, instincts telling him yes, but breeding is making him think about what he’s up to, collies very intelligent, just needs that reassurance that it’s ok to do the deed .... stick with him, good breed, intelligence override everything in a pig dog I my opinion... awesome vid ... ps kiwi is a weapon... lolz

I once had a little whippet bitch who was three parts of useless on rabbits (the game du jour) I remember walking her into a field where they were running thick and nothing. I even tried giving her away in disgust but one day the penny dropped and she was the best ferreting dog anyone could ask. She turned out blindingly game on other game including rats and I once saw her twice turn a jack hare from a better than fair start. I guess you can never tell but I hope you persevere.
I'd imagine it's because plucking by hand and being that far in the hills you won't want to take whole poss and far easier to pluck a warm poss than a cold one. That'd be my thinking
