I like that lock on shot (reminds me of Souky). Steam saying it's inspired by CAVE, Taito and Raizing... Does it play closer to Cave or Raizing (don't know Taito very well other than their standard fare)?
Feels like a cross between "mechanical star astra" and "blue wish desire" to me. I think it feels the most like a cave game out of the three companies you've mentioned. It's loads of fun. You're encouraged to play aggressively and bomb a lot for score. There's a three life cap and lots of extends available so it's not a big deal when you die.

I just 1cc as well after 30 hours in. Gunvein is my favorite shmup of the last 5 years.
