Reading comments across the sol nova and see 120 is good for lining then read others talking in volts. Anyone know the ratio to work it out? Thanks in advance

Leider können wir dir nicht sagen, welche voltage Julian hier benutzt. Es gibt auch keine generelle Antwort auf diese Frage, da jeder einen anderen Stil und Technik hat. Wir empfehlen immer niedrig anzufangen und dann bei Bedarf zu erhöhen 😊

Hi Kassia, we can not tell you what speed Julian is working with and there is also no general answer to this question. Everyone is working in his own style and technique. We always recommend to start slow and increase the speed till you feel comfortable.

I have lined only one time with the sol nova, but 9.9 v worked great for 5rl, dont know which speed that is on an cheyenne pu

I did a few more lines and i whould roughly say 3-5rl 8-8.5v, 13rs medium taper 9,5-11v

@ no problem ✌ i am using kwadron cartridges, if you use cheyennes or some others with stiff membrane you should maybe go 0.5v up

10v is the sweet spot for me with the Sol Nova! I use it for everything now - lines, shading, packing, and dotwork, just by controlling hand speed and pressure. I used to constantly change voltage but now I'm very comfortable at 10v in all situations. It really changed everything for me finding that sweet spot and working at it consistently.

Does anyone know what the starting voltage for lining is on this machine at 4.5?
Even Bishop tells us the starting voltage for their wand is 7.5, but this seems to be a secret on Cheyenne machines and I’m not sure why?.
We always give our apprenticeship the set voltage for their machines so that the don’t struggle going out the gate. It’s what sets our shop apart from those around us. We teach them everything we know, but there will always be situations where they will struggle. As for Cheyenne, I have owned 4 machines from them through the years, but My Go to is the Wand. I just bought the SN 2nd Gen at 4.5, and my old SN is wonderful for coloring at 9volts, no complaints there. But when I tried to line at 9 volts with the new one, the client screamed, so this tells me perhaps the lining starts at 8 volts, maybe?
I never had that happen before, and I switched back to my wand. I bought the 4.5 for thick lines since I want to do more Neo-traditional tattoos. Any help would be greatly appreciated. 🙏🏼
